@chilled-pill ——— ❛❛ Super Quantum Unit Intel Processor… It is my understanding that you will be able to teach me how to become beloved enough by the people that the Institution overrules their bias against my handicap and makes me a hero. Is this correct ?? ❜❜
> The SQUIP smiled as he floated in front of the one armed man. He raised an eyebrow in amusement, not that Ballister could really tell, as his face was fuzzing every few moments. > “That is correct, sir.” > Even though it was obvious that the SQUIP had said this, as the soft static intertwined in his words was a big giveaway, his mouth looked like it hadn’t moved at all. > “All you need to do…” > There was a pause, as the blue, slightly glitchy man materialized something in his hand, and held it out to Blackheart. > “Is to take this pill with the drink that you’re holding.”
——— ❛❛ If I were any less desperate, I can guarantee you that I would be exceedingly suspicious of you and this perfection that you promise. ❜❜ As he spoke, he looked down at the pill with a bit of a defeated expression. He couldn’t live the way he’d been living for so long now. He missed being around others without them crying out for the guards. He missed being good. He missed Ambrosius. ❛❛ Luckily for you, nothing can be worse than what I’m dealing with now. Here goes it. ❜❜ The words left his lips and he popped the pill in his mouth, taking a swig and swallowing it wearily.
> As the lord rose the glass to his mouth, the SQUIP’s face fuzzed more intensely than it had before, then returned back to normal as he was swallowing the pill. There was a creepy grin the SQUIP’s face. > “Good.” > His voice was deeper and smoother than normal, but before there was any time to respond, he…. was gone. Not a trace of him left, besides the memory.
——— ❛❛ …God, I hope this works. ❜❜ He didn’t comment on the sudden disappearance of the bizarre man. It didn’t matter. He assumed it was a part of the process, and whatever it took was just fine by him at this point. Every inch of him was still so tired…still so fucking miserable all the damn time. When did it get so hard? When did becoming a hero require you to go searching for back-alley black market drugs? Always. It’d always been that way. That’s why Ambrosius had shot his arm off. That’s why heroes were always the most c r o o k e d of all, weren’t they? Well…maybe he could change that with the help of this…thing. Shit…he didn’t even know how to tell when it was working…?
> Oh, it started to work alright. In fact, pain started up without warning. > ‘Calibration in progress. Mild discomfort may occur.’ —– > 'Calibration complete. Access procedure initiated.’ —– > There was only a short pause in the pain before it started up again, unfortunately for the lord. > 'Discomfort level may increase.’ > This probably wasn’t enjoyable for Blackheart. —– > 'Accessing neural memory. Accessing muscle memory. Access procedure complete. Balister Blackheart…“ > The voice in the lord’s head got clearer as his name was spoken. The SQUIP had reappeared, except more clearly, less fuzzy, with only pixels floating off here and there. He was also wearing what seamed to be a suit, and his eyes were a bright blue, unlike the empty-looking ones he had before. > "Welcome to… your SQUIP.”
——— The screaming didn’t stop even in the moments of painlessness. The reason for this, of course, was that the pain he felt only compared to one other he had felt. That, would be, of course...when he got his arm blown off by his only love best friend. Fuck, it hurt. His screaming had forced him to back up against a wall and dig his good hand into his hair and scalp. Happening again, it’s happening again, it’s happening again, happening again, it’s HAPPENING AGAIN- His thoughts were frantic and panicked, and he reached up viciously, clutching his metallic shoulder. Visions of the joust flashed in his mind, Ambrosius’s golden hair falling from his sight as the blow to his side knocked him down and all there was, was screaming. It was an accident!! He could hear his voice above his own screaming, pleading his own innocence, and fuck’s sake they believed him. THEY BELIEVED HIM OVER THE MAN THAT HAD JUST LOST HIS ARM. Finally, the pain subsides...and The Squip is speaking. He takes a few, wheezing breaths...he’s gasping for air, practically as he slides down till he’s sitting on the ground against the wall. ❛❛ This better be worth it you miserable beta piece of shit !! ❜❜
