Tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy
So I had a surgery last Monday. This post is just to bitch about how painful it is because my mum would worry if I told her anything. Also I want to share my experience. It's only day 6 so I'm writing till day 6.
Day 1: I'm so hungry. I haven't eaten the whole day and feel dizzy because of the anaesthetia. Can manage to go to the bathroom on my own. Not so sure if I'm sensitive or anything but im sure I heard some nurse ask why am I not discharged since I'm fine and walking around. Nurse just served Milo and biscuits.
Lady on the right asked for more food. Must be so hungry like me. Thinking ahead in the morning, I brought 2 packets of milk because I'm pretty sure I can't eat. My mum said that I was overreacting because the hospital would serve me food. My milk came in handy. They served me dinner at 7pm because someone messed up the order. It's all in the mind because nothing beats solid food. I'm so hungry. Pam and bf visited me so I added a sushi thing at the photo.
Luckily Pam brought some sashimi. I was honestly still hungry after the porridge.
sleepless night in hospital. I just fell asleep at 11pm and there is the nurse waking me up for my antibiotics at 12am. Wth. I have problems sleeping because of the environment and a terrible headache. Then I fell asleep again at 2am and nurse woke me up again at 6.30am for medicine. Then turned the TV on again. So noisy how to sleep. Honestly my throat at that time felt like any sore throat but there is a lot of phglem. I'm so afraid. Afraid that my throat would bleed because I'm coughing so much.
So the doctor said that they didn't remove my adenoids because it wasn't that big. Is that good or bad? Anyway, can't care much. Less surgery= less pain
Got the best bed spot with the TV. But no difference because they switched it off at 10pm?
Day 3: I'm coughing and having so much phglem that I have problems sleeping. I can't sleep because there's a weird throb on my neck. Afraid that the injury would rupture. Googled about tonsillectomy and found out that anti histamines work. Self medicated on Clarinase. I finally can fall asleep in the afternoon.
Day 4: Clarinase really saved me. Can sleep like a baby throughout. Noticed that there's pain in the throat, ears and head. Doctor prescribed panadol. Worked in 10 mins.
Day 5: Because I slept too much in the noon, I had energy for witcher 3 till 3am. Felt my body grow slightly weaker because of no sleep. Tonsils seriously felt a lot bigger. Faster went to sleep after medicine. I felt giddy all of a sudden.
For lunch and dinner I cannot eat or drink at all because it's so painful. Ears, throat and head hurts so much. Even with panadol I still can feel the pain.
Day 6: Tonsils are too painful till I cannot sleep throughout. This is torture. Kept coughing because of the swelling. I guess due to not enough airflow? Had to take some doctor prescribed panadol for the whole day. Feels like I'm addicted to this drug, without it I can't eat. Once I ate my ears, throat and head hurts so much. Dragonfruit made me have a bad pain. The seeds are bad. I have been living on mashed pumpkin. I miss eating oysters. I'm so hungry everyday. Yoghurt gives me pain too in the throat. Ears, head and throat. Must have a buffet after this. I do not wish this pain on anyone. Self medicated on serratiopeptidase because it works on inflammation. Seems to help but I'm on my last pill.
