Why be a rival to the Bishops when you could be an equal? The last sheep is no less frightening than the other four crown holders. If anything bearing the Red Crown makes her more frightening.
This au is basically what if instead of killing the Bishops of the Old Faith, the Lamb joined them and killed The One Who Waits.
This Lamb's name is Pyrite. Also the Lamb in this au is a ewe. I feel like it's worth mentioning that when I say Pyrite is a gold fleeced ewe, I do mean that she had gold colored wool
"I'm not sure in truth. Um my mother was Blossom Petalhoof, if that helps any. I wasn't told much about my family. Mother never talked much about her flock or father.."
Bishop of Death & Redemption. A golden wooled ewe with unusual sharp teeth. She didn't take to Redemption until some time after formally becoming a Bishop. Even then Pyrite's brand of redemption is not quite what most would consider redemption.
Pyrite is not always a merciful Bishop. In fact many outside of her cult would consider her punishments cruel. Even her closest disciples advise new arrivals to be unnote-worthy. If she likes you chances are you will not see death, or if you do it won't be for long. If she dislikes you she may resurrect you for her own purposes although this is less likely.
i feel like a lot of the reason people dislike narilamb is yes, it’s everywhere; it’s hard to find Literally Anything not ship related — but it’s so popular that the rest of the big beautiful and interesting world is ignored Completely just for that. i want to see people’s worldbuilding opinions outside of lamb’s cult, like how they interact with shop owners, what hardships they face in their day to day lives, the ducks and if they built a close relationship with ex bishops or their followers. of course you can’t go to someone’s house and tell them to rearrange their furniture but i also want to just.. see more in general? make narilamb go to woolhaven just please… expand the world! then i feel like people’s opinions might end up a little better, maybe? idk im a goatlamb enjoyer at the end of the day but the idea of them exploring different regions together, confronting woolhaven and taking followers into the area surrounding is what im more interested in than them eating each other’s faces off.
i want to find more people who love the world too and share the same sentiment, whether including ships or not but i’m scared to come off anon cause i feel like whether you ship narilamb or not defines your place in the fandom but… oh well!
Im going to canonize Pyrite being a descendent of Rami
I'll probably elaborate later I think it's neat to think about the Lamb being distantly (to an extent. Maybe not super distant but probably like great grandparent at very closest) related to the Woolhaven ghosts we know
I might change it at some point but for now it's Rami
"Mother Yngna? Are there like records or something of births I guess? I want to learn about my family and who they were"

Indeed there is! Aniel has helped before with finding the genealogy for those looking for their family histories. I would recommend going to visit her museum.
(Aniel) Yes! Absolutely! First things first, while I look through old census records and journals, I need clues! Do you know your parents? Your flock? Is your wool Natural or dyed?
"Natural color. My mother and I were on our own before my sacrifice and she never talked about her flock.. oh my mother, um.. Blossom Petalhooves was her name"
"Well I was um.. somewhere around twenty-five to thirty when I died and my sacrifice was like fifty years ago by now. Time's pretty weird to keep track of since getting the Crown"
"Was there any reason for it beyond the practicality of not having flies eat at it all the time? I mean I just.. Mama used to tell me about how Sheep used to always dock tails before the whole Bishop slaughtering thing. I'm curious"

《¤ A gold fleeced ewe walks quietly into Woolhaven and freezes before the staue of Ynga. Her hooved hand goes subconsciously to hold her silver bell ¤》
(( @bleating-bishop-au ))
Greetings my child. It seems you've answered my call. Welcome to Woolhaven!
*Her incorporeal form steps close, she is smiling.*
"I'll admit I don't actually know very much about Lamb culture.. When I was young Lambs around me had given up on trying to keep traditions alive. I mean even my mother was too afraid to bother"
"Honestly, we need all the help we can get." *A ghostly ewe approaches the Lamb in the Golden Fleece. She wore the basic rags that most common folk in the lands wore if they weren't affiliated with the major cults, but also curiously a Missionary Necklace of the Blue Crown, both of which were stained with sickly-green and bloody-red blotches that trailed downwards.*
"My name is Binah;" *the ghost introduced herself.* "After the Sack of Woolhaven, I fled to Anchordeep and hid as a spy. However, I was caught and He of Blight gave me a lethal infection for my troubles..." *She then holds up the stained necklace, showing some writing on the back* "He gave me this before he killed me; guess he wanted to give a message to The One who Waits the safest way he knows how."
*Upon Pyrite stating her ambition to take the title of 'Bishop', Binah's expression immediately soured, clutching her Missionary Necklace to her chest as if it were a string of pearls.* "You may not know much of Lamb-Kind's culture, but here in Woolhaven we have a saying: 'May we know the False Shepherd when they come." *She warned Pyrite, anger barely concealed in the tone of her voice, as she turns to face Yngya.*
If you're interested, Aniel has been compiling a museum and library of our culture. She absolutely loves sharing anything she's learned. With all the new arrivals, she's been able to compile so much more as well.
I also must warn you. Bishop is a very....inflammatory word here. We do not associate 'Bishop' with anything good. I'd suggest a different title, at least while you're in Woolhaven.
Pyrite looked up at the plateau where her cult resided before stepping up to look over how things are doing. Her ears twitched, picking up on her followers murmuring to one another. Voices trailed off as her followers noticed her walking toward the shrine. A pair caught in conversation swallowed shallowly. They both ducked their heads and returned to praying.
Her eyes passed over an unfamiliar face and her gaze darkened for a moment. They were a yellow furred cat with an obnoxious amount of copper jewelry. Pyrite wasn’t stupid, she knew the cat was a spy. She ignored the cat and made her way to the cooking fire. Pyrite made a quick meal of mince follower meat. She picked it up and brought it to the yellow cat.
“You’ve been working very hard, have a bite,” She smiled softly at them, harding the glint of malice under a maternal warmth.
“Oh! Thank you my Lamb,” They bowed and didn’t hesitate to take a big bite of the meal. Their eyes widened with delighted surprise and they shoveled more bites into their mouth. “Wow, this is really good, what’s it made of?”
“Were you not paying attention when Cloudy died? His death was a blow to the cult’s morale but he lived a good life and he continues to serve us well,” Pyrite allowed herself a full grin that showed off her sharp, carnivorous teeth as the yellow cat’s face fell. Served them right, faking loyalty was worse than outright dissension, if you asked Pyrite. Scaring such heretics was one of her favorite things to do. Her cult was, for the most part, a safe haven and she would keep it that way.
Pyrite didn’t wait for the fox to respond before trodding toward the temple. She kicked the bell and waited for everyone to file in, including the yellow fox. Her gaze passed over everyone with a careful mask of authoritative neutrality. “All praise the Red Crown. Praise the Bishop of the Red Crown,” She paused, her eyes rolling up and once again bold red ate up the gentle blue of her eyes. She hovered for a moment before her hooves planted firmly back on the ground below her. The ewe walked down from the altar while everyone was still gathered in the temple and stopped before a hooded figure she knew was the yellow furred cat.
“Kneel,” Pyrite commanded calmly. The yellow furred cat may have been a spy but to openly disobey would be suicide. Not that Pyrite was going to grant them mercy anyway. “This wary soul surrenders the highest thing they can to the Red Crown, their life. With this sacrifice of flesh and blood, may the Red Crown grant me the strength I need to do my job as a shepherd.”
She gently lifted the cat’s hood and willed the Red Crown into a large and sharp axe. Around her, her followers bowed, their faces completely shadowed by their hoods. They had no idea the one before them was not truly one of them. The golden fleeced ewe brought the axe down in a single fell swoop, effortlessly severing the yellow furred cat’s head.
Pyrite and her followers exited the template and Pyrite saw Ratau waiting for her. She buried the urge to immediately attack the elderly rat and approached him. He tilted his head curiously, almost in a pitying way.
“It’s been a few weeks. Are you struggling?”
It was the same assumption He had made. She couldn’t quite quell a low growl, which made Ratau flinched away. “I’m sorry, it takes a fair bit of time to get a cult started. What authority do you have to question my pace anyway? From what I hear, you never killed on behalf of the One Who Waits,” She stepped closer, tilting her head down in a subtle threat.
Ratau swallowed sharply and stepped back as Pyrite crowded his personal space. His round ears tilt back, flattening passively against his skull. “Err.. well just so long as you have a plan! I’d hate for you to be replaced like I was,” He ducked his head, keeping his one eye on her. More specifically his eye was focused on her horns.
“I am irreplaceable. Or have you forgotten that the prophecy explicitly says a Lamb will be the liberator of the One Who Waits?” She was fully snarling now and she could see Ratau’s hackles rising.
He shifted and burrowed himself underground. Pyrite watched as the mound of dirt fled from her. The coward rat was going back to the Lonely Shack. One of Pyrite’s hooved hands found the silver bell that hung from her black collar. She flicked it and took deep breaths as she actively paid attention to the soft ringing of the bell.
