another thing that irks me is the giant spaces people leave above their books on each shelf or when they put like four books on a shelf cover facing out & have multiple shelves in that style. it just wastes space.

So there's a habit some writers like to give to Robert, it's very common but every time I see it in a fic I lose my mind. It's when they give Robert the habit of hiding inside the mech anytime he's too upset/stressed about something. It drives me crazy thinking about how for 15 years the mech was most likely his only safe space, like there's concept art of him lounging in the mech with pillows eating something watching tv. For the longest time THIS was probably more so his home than his apartment ever was.

Anyways because my brain at the moment wants to make everything flambert related. We know Flambae doesn't have a problem confronting people about shit that annoys him. So I could see them arguing and him going after Robert to finish the conversation and finding Robert hidden away in the mech not even bothering to respond to him, being annoyed and storming off.

And after that he started to notice Robert doing this more and more(why he's so stressed is up to you) after awhile Flambae starts bringing him food and leaving it right outside the mech for him because if Roberts going spend his whole lunch in there he might as well eat.

Eventually that leads to Flambae sitting outside the mech with his own lunch too ya know because he hates wasting food and wants to make sure Roberts actually eating it, he's totally not sitting out there just to keep Robert company or anything.

Robert feels bad watching Flambae sitting out there eating alone and decides to join him. Which eventually leads to Robert just hopping out of the mech as soon as Flambae shows up. Plot plot plot blah blah fluff fluff slow burn anyway very very slowly his habit of going straight to the mech for comfort turns into him going straight to Flambae.

And Robert doesn't even realize how serious his feelings are getting over this until he and Flambae have another fight which ends with Flambae leaving to cool off and Robert is stuck there blue screening. Because his first reaction now when he needs comfort is to go to the person that just made it very clear he doesn't want Robert around him right now.
