Emira smiled brightly at that. She knew she looked stunning, obviously, but it was always nice to have it confirmed. Especially by someone as put together as this girl was. "Thank you," she said sweetly, and reached for the girl's phone to take the picture.

Her years of experience in taking photos really came in handy. Emira was snapping away at different angles and the girl knew exactly how to switch up her poses. "Hmm, have you ever considered modeling?" she asked. "You're really good at this." Emira scrolled through the pictures she took before handing the phone back. Those could totally be in an ad for high end fashion or something."

Spring had sprung and it was time to take full advantage of the beautiful flowers. Emira was a firm believer in utilizing her surroundings to make herself look as beautiful as possible. It was a no brainer, really, to use everything she could to look good, and a nice flower-filled spring selfie was a must have on her insta feed!

The problem with selfies, though, was that her outfit really got neglected. Especially her beautiful shoes.

Emira was in the process of cultivating the perfect angle when she noticed another girl doing the same thing. She glanced over and smiled. The girl was beautiful and her selfie was going to be gorgeous, but her outfit was also flawless and Emira made up her mind to approach her.

"Hi," she said smiling sweetly. "I noticed that your outfit is so cute and I was wondering if you wanted me to take a picture of you so people can see those cute shoes too when you send that or post it."

Edric automatically leaned into Emira, his head leaning against hers. Honestly this was the downfall of the school forcing them to room apart.

They forced other people into their lives without considering the detrimental effect that would have on their relationship.

If Ed thought he could write another strongly worded letter and have it heard he would.

But it hadn't had much of an impact last time.

"It's not too big of a deal, a half ass joke that honestly I didn't think would get that far. It was a good confidence boost though. Anything serious though you know you're the first person I'd go to, right?"

Emira did know this logically. Of course she did. Edric was her best friend, her brother, her soulmate and she knew he felt the same way about her. So yes, Emira knew if it was serious, Edric would come to her. She just couldn't stop that little voice in the back of her mind that told her Phineas was being a nosy busybody and he needed to get his own life.

"Yeah," she said softly, smiling. "I know I shouldn't worry about stuff like this. I just know it's going to give me forehead wrinkles if I don't stop. Everything is just so new and different. We've been here for awhile so I should be used to it, but it's just really hard sometimes."

Emira reached out and took her brother's hand. "It's us forever, right? Even if you find the perfect girl, we'll never stop talking?"

"I don't know if I want the really nice sweet girl. Wouldn't she just get boring? Or not want what I want you know." Like he had thought Jenny was someone exciting. Someone to have a good time with and she ended up not wanting that.

Someone to plan things and do things and then it was too much.

At least this way he knew if people could handle it.

Emira considered this and then sat down next to Edric, laying her head on his shoulder. "You deserve whatever you want, Ed," she said, her voice soft. "Obviously if you want Phineas to feel things out for you, he should do that. I just think you're so much better than him, you know?I don't want him to ruin your chances. It's hard for me sometimes. It's just been us for so long and so him coming in and doing all of this planning and being the one trying to help you get dates is just weird. I have to get used to it."

"Oh yeah, I never expected him to go all out, But I've met a couple people through it so we'll see how everything goes." Edric was already starting to explain before he caught the tail end of that.

"Wait- She didn't wanna go out with me? Why? I'm adorable and I've been so nice to her." Except for the fact he ruined one of her outfits. but that wasn't a big deal. Was it?

Emira smiled at her brother and tucked a bit of his hair behind his ear. "I don't think it was you, exactly. I think it was more how the suggestion came out of nowhere. Of course if she'd gotten to know you she'd know you were adorable and kind, but she didn't really get that chance. Phineas just kind of went for it and threw her off a little."

"That's what I mean with this whole Phineas getting your dates stuff. Like, sure, the straightforward, out of nowhere approach works with some people, but if you want to get a really nice, sweet girl, sometimes that kind of thing can throw them off."

"Yeah, no, it wasn't supposed to be a surprise– sorry, I just I just figured we'd talked about it at some point," Phineas said with a shrug. "Guess we didn't. The flyer didn't too long, though, no. Just threw it together in the ol' Photoshop. Y'all like it?"

"Yeah it's super great," Emira said, her voice sickly sweet. "I would've done a couple things differently probably but then it wouldn't have that special Phineas touch."

As tacky as the flier was, she was sure it would get the job done. Whether or not she actually wanted that job to be done didn't matter anymore. Now that there was a party, it had to be a great party.

"Have you lined anything special up for the party itself? Edric, you should work with him to make sure it's up to our standards, don't you think?"

Surprise! {Blight Twins + Phineas}

Phineas had put up flyers for a Blight birthday. Which, hell yeah, that was so fun and great and Edric was excited.

And yet, neither of the Blights had known ahead of time and if it was meant to be a surprise party then well Phineas was horrible at it. But Edric suspected that wasn't it.

He had an simple expectation that well Phineas just forgot. Which was why both Blights walked into their room. Edric immediately heading to sit on his bed.

"So what's this about a party?"

Phineas honestly couldn't remember if he had talked to the Blights about their birthday. It just seemed like it was always the plan, even if he'd never said it out loud. Like, of course they'd want a big blowout bash! And it'd just be easier if Phineas handled the details.

But, uh... yeah. Apparently he hadn't. Whoops!

"Uhh, your birthday party?" Phineas said, looking up from his laptop. "Yeah, it's next weekend. Why, you thought I wasn't gonna do anything?"

Emira walked straight into Phineas's room after her brother, just like she owned the place. This was an effective strategy, she'd always known. She was tall, beautiful, intimidating, and she wanted Phineas to be just a little bit on the back foot. It wasn't that she was opposed to a party, exactly. It was just that Phineas was a little tacky.

Obviously her and Edric looked great, that wasn't a question, but still having them blown up on the flier? A bit tacky. Emira just wished she'd been consulted, that's all.

"How long did you spend on that flier? Just out of curiosity," she asked, her voice sweet. "It's so...explosive."

Emira cooed at her brother and petted his hair. "And we are definitely going to," she said. Whenever she was around Edric, she just felt so much more complete. She never wanted to say anything that would make him mad, and she wasn't sure this wouldn't make him mad, but she had to see if he knew.

"I do need to ask you something, though," she said. "Did you put Phineas up to getting dates for you? Did you know that's what he's been going around trying to do?"

Edric couldn't help but laugh at that as he pulled away from Emira guiding her to a seat so they could at least chill while going through Phineas' antics.

"Oh I knew. Didn't know he was going to try and set me up with half the campus but it's been kind of hilarious. He's set me up on a date at a pizza place with someone's who's lactose intolerant too. A dude that's cursed and refuses to date. This hot blonde who apparently gave up the option of being a Queen but she's clever so it's okay. It's been kind of a hoot."

Emira relaxed a little. If Edric was having fun, it was fine, obviously, but she would be remiss if she didn't voice her misgivings just a little, especially now that she wasn't as anxious about it.

"That's good you're having fun then," she said, leaning against her brother's shoulder. "You might want to have him tone it down just a bit, though, since it seems like he's asking everyone, you know? And he even asked my roommate! I'm not saying that was a breach of etiquette or anything, it's just that she thought it was sort of weird and it threw her off a little. Kind of made her uncomfortable."

"Not your fault, of course. He's just--excitable, I think. Like a puppy."

Edric always loved Emira's hugs. Sure she was only a couple minutes older but he always felt so comfy and safe in her arms.

And that included when They were just touching in passing.

“I missed your face. We definitely need to fix that and do more especially with our birthdays coming up. We deserve it.” Edric pouted just the same at Emira.

It was about time to get to the bottom of this Phineas situation, Emira knew, so that meant it was time to ask Ed about it. She texted her brother, asking him to meet her whenever he had the chance. He showed up to her room about thirty minutes later and she was ready with questions.

But first Emira smiled at him and gave him a big hug. "Edric, hi. I feel like we've been so busy that we've only been able to text lately." Emira pouted at her brother and smoothed out his shirt from where she'd rumpled it up a bit. "I miss your face."

Kleo nodded when Emira said that Edric was okay. That was good! She didn't know if she'd been missing something--and Edric was important to Emira, so Kleo cared. (She cared anyway, because she liked to think of herself as a nice, empathetic person.)

Emira's question made her cheeks heat a bit and she was grateful for her complexion. She didn't even know why it made her blush. Just that it did.

"Oh, uh--yeah. I mean I just...felt like the whole thing was too weird."

And I've never been on a date before so I don't want my first one to be so...weird. Kleo did not say this. It felt too sad to admit.

Emira let go of a breath she wasn't aware she'd been holding. She knew Kleo wouldn't insult her brother right to her face, but she'd been sort of afraid to see if Kleo showed any obvious signs of distaste. She liked Kleo. She didn't want to have to hate her, you know?

"See, exactly," Emira said, shaking her head. Here you are, a beautiful, intelligent girl! Edric would be so lucky to be liked by you, but Phineas has gone and ruined it. Not that I'm saying you should date my brother, of course, I'm just saying that if it had happened organically or if Edric himself had asked you, it would've been so much better! That Phineas just needs to keep his little snout in his own business, don't you think? Ugh."

There was a beat where Kleo wasn't sure if she'd put her foot in it or not. Where she worried that Emira might be upset that Kleo turned down a date with Edric--or upset at the idea of Kleo even entertaining dating her brother. (Even if she really wasn't.) And Kleo really liked Emira, she didn't want to fall out with her. She was still having trouble making friends (painfully shy and all that...)

But, the moment passed and Kleo let out a little breath.

She rolled her eyes. "Is he always like that? It was just so...odd. He didn't say why he was doing it, but he did repeat several times it wasn't Edric's idea. Which was what was weird to me. Do you know why Phineas might be trying to set Edric up? Is he okay?"

"Of course Edric is okay," Emira said, and it was true. Because even if they weren't okay, Emira and Edric were always okay because they had each other. "And even if he wasn't, I hardly think he'd need Phineas muddling around in his dating life. I don't think Phineas exactly has the best track record when it comes to dating, does he? You'd think he'd just keep out of it."

Titan, Phineas just kept getting on Emira's last nerve! And it was even worse because sometimes she couldn't help but admire how connected he was, like he was just this charming little weasel that people couldn't help but love or something. It was the worst!

"And you said you told him no?" Emira was pretty sure that was what Kleo said, but she'd been so offended by Phineas's meddling she wasn't certain.

Well, Kleo didn't know about that. She was a bit hopeless when it came to things like romance...dating...she'd never really had a boyfriend before. Her mother didn't approve. And she wasn't even sure if she liked girls or not, she'd never had a chance to think about it much. She had been very focused in school.

And under her mother's thumb.

She appreciated the vote of confidence and Emira was right about part of it at least.

"That was what I said," Kleo huffed. "I mean--he didn't even have a good reason for why he wanted to set me up with Edric besides the fact I am a girl and I guess Edric is into girls. If Edric wants to, he can ask me out."

She didn't even think about the fact that Edric was literally Emira's twin brother until the words were out of her mouth.

Emira blinked, then her eyes narrowed a bit as she wondered exactly where Phineas got off thinking that Ed needed help getting dates. If Ed needed help, and that was a big if, he would come to her! Wouldn't he? They talked about pretty much everything and she was sure he would've mentioned this to her.

"He tried to set you up with Edric?" Emira asked, her voice a little bit too sweet. "Did he say anything else, like maybe why he was doing that? Because as far as I know, Edric hasn't asked anyone to be his matchmaker. You haven't either. So really what I'm hearing is that Phineas is a busybody."

Yep, that is exactly what Emira would expect from Phineas, so she wasn't surprised in the least. She was annoyed, though, on Kleo's behalf. Obviously Kleo could get her own dates if she wanted to. She was fierce and gorgeous. "And why did he think you would need his help? You clearly don't. That's honestly a little bit of an insult, don't you think? He's going to get himself in trouble."

"The weirdest thing just happened to me," Kleo announced when she finally made it back to her dorm room.

She unwound her scarf from her neck and tossed it onto the back of her chair. From where Wadjet was curled up on the desk in her cat bed beneath her heat lamp, she lifted her head and blinked an eye. (The cold was really getting to her.)

"Not you," Kleo dismissed the familiar to go back to sleep as she sat down on the bed, bouncing a little. She leaned over to unzip her boots.

"You know Phineas Flynn, right?" She raised her eyebrows at Emira.
