                  when any of their eyes land on her, they look at her like they’ve seen a ghost. which is odd, maybe. they figured she was dead. or they found out about mint eye and realized she was more than just alive. which is odd, because they just had a funeral for -––– . oh, to even think his name bleeds inside of her. perhaps her voice could work. perhaps the muteness is intentional and decided. rika doesn’t care to find out if her vocal chords still work. they have done both terrible and great things, and she figures that now it’s better to just let it end. it’s hard when most don’t come to see her. but it’s harder when yoosung does and tries to talk to her. you don’t know what i am or what i’ve been. the rika he thinks exists is a lie and at times she wants to scream it -–– but she settles on silence. 

                  if this is penance, she will pay it. perhaps she deserves a suffering and can’t end it just yet. if she was able to come back from the dead for them, perhaps he still could -–– . she won’t fool herself. she saw his last heartbeat with her own eyes. after they met, she could never imagine a life without him. then she created one. now, she has to live in the wreckage of it all.

                  seeing the new girl in her vision, something hesitates inside of rika. she wonders how this would all end if they found someone else instead to drag into the rfa. regrets have no place for her though. not anymore. she tries all day to sit and listen to the voice of god but it’s silent now. she tries all day to stare out the window at the sun and she wonders what it would be like to burn her vision out. she wonders if in the darkness she would be able to picture his face easier. she wonders if in the darkness his name would shape naturally.

                  i’m worried about you.

                  rika’s eyes land directly upon the other, in a way of seeing she hasn’t allowed since the bullet wound, the blood, the body of -–– . perhaps this is the act of god : the ability to care about a wretched soul. rika wants to ask what is within her that she got so right and rika herself got so wrong. rika wants to tell her to not worry and let her die or go blind or who cares, something, but just don’t care because that makes her feel something and she doesn’t want to feel anything anymore. rika wants to lie, make up a story that would fault someone or something else for the death and the dirtiness found in her paradise. rika says nothing. she keeps her hardened smile towards the other, but she does slightly nod her head. it’s more of an acknowledgement than she gave anyone else since returning.

                  she turns back towards the window to look towards the sun. if she stares long enough a ring forms around the orb that seems to embrace the color that his hair used to be.

                  perhaps she is overthinking. rika knows she has a tendency to do so, and couple that with paranoia and it could be said, easily probably then, that she overthinks when it comes to her friends. she supposes it is better to do so though, than to underthink.

                  red. perhaps too many religions focus on the absolution of blinding white to really understand the truth and sincerity that can be found deep within such a red. it is almost everywhere -–– rika knows not if her eyes are playing tricks on her or if the traitor really did bleed out that much. it matters not anymore. show over, and devotion shown both true and false.

                  not everyone gets to take supper with rika -–– almost none of them do, really. but such devotion deserves a reward. she needs to know more beyond the names of those that show the most potential, and perhaps she has just zeroed in on her newest.

                  rika stumbles, catching herself on the hands that darted out from the other woman. well, maybe she does need to be walked home. she is thankful it is jaehee and not one of the other members -––– most would fret or make a big deal of this. or even try to get her into a car which rika is sure would make her vomit at this point. no, fresh air is helpful. jaehee will just do the task and -–– well. they don’t even know each other that well, do they ? no. she knows the other works for jumin and not much else and that is fine but soon enough they will be having the first party that jaehee is a part of. the woman has helped a lot already so far, and rika wonders if she is scaring her off with this irresponsible behavior.

                  v always dismisses her big thoughts as they grow more and more obtrusive in her brain. sometimes, she just needs to speak them. and she is so used to him always planting himself on her side that to have him disagree and part from her words is altering. so, she went out and had a bit too much to drink. it’s okay. she had a night of not thinking of emails or organizations and she didn’t even once think about the pressing matters she drank over. so, mission accomplished.

                  at first, rika doesn’t hear the words. at first, rika tells herself she’s imagining it. ( she probably still is. might be. but it doesn’t matter anymore, does it ? ) her body shakes in the power of her tears, in the power of how tired she is and how much she just wants it all to just stop. she is weak and this inside of her is stronger. something claws from deep within -––– looking up and seeing a form of herself, composed, ethereal, proud –––- she feels something inside of her quake. this -–– this is who i should be. this is who i can be. but this weak, sad part of her has to die off. like a shedding of a skin, rika knows that there is so much she has to let go of to become who she has to.

                  she dries her tears. she doesn’t stand because right now, she is lower than the other, and doesn’t deserve to look at them eye to eye. instead, she kneels before the other, head falling to the ground, and breathes deep the smell of the rug underneath her. rika makes a promise to herself that soon, she will be the form before her. rika makes a promise to herself that soon, she will never bow to another again.

👍 i've said this before but idc i'll say it again. I !!! LOVE !!! U !!! AND UR PORTRAYAL OF RIKA !!! SM !! like thank you so much for giving her the respect and insight she deserves. she's such an interesting character, and cheritz imo didn't delve into her as much as they should / could have but AT LEAST WE HAVE YOU to do it for them amen. 10/10 would join mint eye just for you. and Feel Free to salt about the game tbh because hoooly do i have some problems with it.
