This was definitely not what she’d been expecting to find. A pleasant surprise, she’d thought, until she’d read a certain couple of words. “Raw? Begging? The hell —” Reading the front of the card only increased her irritation. How dare anyone talk about her that way. Eloquence didn't mean a damn thing, not when she was about ready to take this guy - and everything around him - out.

No. There wasn’t a point in throwing a tantrum over those kinds of insults. Not from a human. Even if she couldn’t comprehend how he’d think hours of work every day meant her appearance was raw.
