this blog is dedicated to uploading/ promoting the process of making our blue lock visual novel, Blue Lock: Lock on Love. By following this blog, you’ll have firsthand looks at our writing, coding, and art process. Who knows; maybe by voting on polls and answering our questions, you can help change the outcome of the game….

ABOUT…

In this visual novel dating simulator, you play as 17 year old Ritsuka Aikyou; who just so happens to have a football coach for an uncle by the name of Jinpachi Ego. Its been a year since your injury when you’re recruited by your weird and crazy soccer obsessed uncle to help manage BLUE LOCK: a new soccer project dedicated to ‘helping player’s develop their egos’; whatever that means. All you know is that you have to observe the boys and help them ‘level up’. But Ego didn’t exactly specify it had to be in soccer. Plus, maybe it could help?

Mostly everything here including plot, characters, etc is subject to change throughout the entire writing process! Don’t be surprised if something changes.

posts/ progress updates might also be slow at times because all mods are students!

HIYA GUYS! ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

so uhm as you guys have probably noticed , we havent been the most active… which is our fault. and we realized that the scope of this project is far too great to take on, especially for a crew of four people. not to mention, @osomaya does not have access to tumblr and other socials for mental health and other reasons, so they won’t be able to come on here and work on things.

So yes. blue lock: lock on love has officially been canceled as of now. maybe in the future, we’ll come back (but as of now, it’s highly unlikely).

me and the others just got way too excited way too fast and created this blog because of that excitement. again, we are sorry to everyone who’s been waiting for this. between school and life, this is just something we don’t really have the time and energy to commit to. thank you all for staying on this very short journey with us. and personally, even though i love this idea, i just can’t stay dedicated to the things i do and the projects i start. i apologize to everyone for this news. i am so sorry grateful to the support that we did get. i’m still going to be keeping this blog up though, just in case and for memory’s sake.

Weekly Update... kinda????

Hey guys heh Osomaya here, uhhh so basically I've been struggling realllyyyyy baddllyyyyy with some stuff, but good news is that I'm doing better now ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ ) ! I wanted to come on here and say that the whole BLLOL team has decided to put the our weekly updates on hold for a little while, and that we probably won't get this done as fast as we expected,,,,, (ᵕ—ᴗ—)

We all still have school, so a lot of our time is taken up by that. We also have our personal lives and hobbies on weekends, and we don't get a whole lot of time to work on BLLOL. Unfortunately, we haven't done enough work for there to be updates every week (｡﹏｡") so we decided to not post updates the blog for a bit.

Another reason we decided this is because we're in VERY early stages of creating the game, like, we're still coming up with ideas for routes. We started this blog for funsies because we were excited to make a game and share our ideas, but like I've stated before, we barely even started writing anything when we created the blog. It feels like we're making you all wait a longgggg time for no reason, so we're gonna stop giving updates for a bit until we actually get to a spot where lots of progress has been made (˶˃⤙˂˶)

I'd like to clarify that we are still working on BLLOL!!!! We are simply taking a break from updating the blog, so don't worry! Even if it doesn't seem like it, we're all working very hard behind the scenes. It's on us for making the blog so early, we really should've waited for when we had more to share (ó﹏ò｡) but yes, we're still going to work on this.

Thank you guys so much for all the support! Every follower and like means a lot to us, since we're really hoping this little project goes well. Please just be patient for a little while and we'll make sure it's worth it (´∇｀'')

Weekly update!!!

hi so its me xena doing the weekly update lololol. it's usually osomaya but they asked me to do it this week!!! sorry its kinda late tho cuz i was busy on saturday ^>_<

anyways, im so so sorry guys we didn’t do much :(((( i'm going to try to work on the game a bit more. Me and osomaya are having a bit of a hard time writing, so please give us a bit of grace; especially since were students and have our own lives and hobbies outside of developing this game (yes, surprising). Osomaya has been having a bit of a hard time too; so give extra grace to them!!!

however, we made a little progress! we’ve been talking about the game to our artists (notice how i said artists. heh) and they’ve been hard at work on making backgrounds for the game! i'll also be trying to get our sprite artist working on sprites.

Anyways, osomaya mentioned this in the last weekly update i think (?), but yes, we have a background artist now!!! she doesnt have tumblr (she’ll prolly get it sometime soon idk), but point is, we have one! this is great news; especially for erbium since they'll have to draw all the sprites and special character art🥹 now we have four people working on the game!!!

even though im not one of the artists, i’ve been making some MC concept art that i’ll maybe possibly be posting if i remember to. so sorry about the lack of content lately too!!! (Summer break and we’ll lock in trust)

Weekly Update! (sorry for lack of updates)

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!! <3 Hey guys heh so we actually did do some stuff... Specifically art stuff... I'll stop being mysterious and just get on with it (。•̀ᴗ-)و ̑̑✧

So we put our background artist to work, and she absolutely COOKED. We'll give sneak peaks later in the year when we're almost done. Eribum has also been practicing their style.

Next, Xena worked on Karasu's route a bit, and I've been planning some scenarios and stuff for the future. I'd also like to add that we've been working on developing the MC some more as well as their little backstory and relationships. I worked a bit on the in-game story, and Xena managed to code some things too!

I'd once again like to sincerely apologize for the lack of updates, I feel a bit bad because we put so much hype for this and it looks like we're being lazy ( •́︿•̀ ) WE'RE WORKING HARD I PROMISEEEEEE.

I'd also like to mention once again that I'm currently struggling with my mental health, and I'm also pretty overwhelmed with school, as well as doing most of the writing and managing stuff on the blog. I'm so sorry if I'm disappointing y'all I promise I'm trying (๑Ŏ﹏Ŏ๑)₊

Weekly Update!

Hi so I don't have a whole lot to say this week, however I DO have some things to announce.

So... we might be saying less stuff in these updates for a bit or even missing weeks. It's nearing the end of the school year which of course means more work and tests, so we're pretty busy ৹ᵒ̴̶̷᷄﹏ᵒ̴̶̷᷅৹ Just know that we ARE working hard still and we're making good progress!

Another thing, I (Osomsya) am lowkey struggling with my mental health rn (like REALLY bad) so it's a little hard to find motivation at the moment (๑Ŏ﹏Ŏ๑)₊ I really hope you guys can be understanding and not get too upset about slow updates. I promise I won't let this affect the game or our blog too much!

Weekly update!

Yay this is our first weekly update on a Saturday ˃̶͈◡˂̶͈ ! We actually managed to write a lot these past two weeks so don't worry we're still working ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ I do apologize for the lack of updates and posts recently, I’ve been lowkey sick and school has been pretty time-consuming for all of us >_< We still find time to work on the routes though.

First big thing… Xena actually worked! She genuinely locked in and reached flow state while writing Karasu’s routes and I am very proud (๑¯◡¯๑) I worked on Yukimiya and Bachira's routes last week and Reo's route this week, and I managed to get a lot done as well.

I also worked on the main story, aka the plot and how things are going to go no matter who you're romancing. We really want to make the main story good, so we're working hard on this!

Once again, I want to apologize for how little it seems like we've done despite it being a few months since we made this blog. When we first made it, we BARELY had anything written. We didn't even establish a lot of the things we have now. All I ask is that you be patient with us, we have lives and hobbies outside of this, so of course we aren't going to be working on this 24/7. I do try to work for at least 30 minutes every day if that counts for something.

I feel like the 3rd selection arc is a little too short for real bonding time, plus we need to let you spend time with Shidou before Sae takes him. We feel like extending the 3rd Selection Arc would help a lot with the story.

About the MC!

We’ve given little bits of info about the MC, but we haven’t fully explained the important stuff yet, so this post will do just that! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

You play as 17 year old Ritsuka Aikyou, rather than just being a gray y/n blob. We’ll release their full, completed design eventually, but I can describe them a bit. They have an androgynous appearance so people can make their pronouns whatever they see fit. You’ll usually see us using they/them for Ritsuka though because we personally see them as gender neutral. They also have tanned skin and medium black hair. They don’t really have a style because they’re only seen in casual sleep-wear or in their Blue Lock uniform.

I will say that they’re implied to be masculine because they wear a suit and used to play football, but their gender identity and bits of their personality are up to the player. (。-∀-)

Now for Ritsuka’s backstory, they used to be really good at football. It was their life, what kept them going. Their father died when they were 4, and their uncle (Ego) was once great at football, so of course they wanted to be like him. Things were going great, and they were even on magazines! But……….. one day, they had a painful leg infarction. I’m not going to explain allat so quick summary is that a blood clot caused the muscles in their leg to die Σ（ﾟдﾟlll ) (go look at Dr. House’s injury if you want the full explanation lol.) Rather than getting it amputated, they just had some muscles removed, but it left their leg too weak and too painful to walk on. Now they use a cane to walk around, and they had to stop playing football. Very sad and tragic ik.

I can’t share much more than this because we’re still working on writing the story where more things are revealed. I hope this makes up for the short ass update yesterday (*´ー｀*)

Weekly update!

Hey guys so uh we didn’t actually do much this week… (＞人＜;) Xena is a lazy BUM (/j she just cooked up a really good Karasu fic that you can read on her main acc) so she hasn’t worked on it much either. I’ve been “studying” by rewatching Blue Lock and reading x reader fics for ideas so I haven’t written much. Here’s a quick list of the small things I’ve managed to do.

Worked on Reo’s route

Started Bachira’s route

Started Yukimiya’s route

Edited Shidou’s route

Worked on the main story

Adjusted certain things to be more accurate story wise

There is a problem I need help with though. I’m not really sure what to do for the 3rd selection and U-20 Arc part of Shidou’s route. I’m thinking about extending the 3rd selection Arc more than it is in the canon story just for the sake of getting to bond with him before Sae takes him. |(￣3￣)| Don’t worry freaks I love Shidou more than anything, I will NOT let yall down… I will be taking requests or recommendations for what to do with his route, so feel free to share!

Sorry guys this update was pretty short, I’ll make another post about the MC tomorrow to make up for it ( ◠ w ◠ )
