Hi guys I'm gonna try to give you guys updates weekly or bi-weekly now! (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧ Like Xena mentioned in another post yesterday. we REALLY locked in on the writing and planning for the game, so here are some changes and plans we have!
Reminder that none of this is final!!!!!!!! We are in VERY early stages of the game and things are definitely going to change. If there's something you like that you don't want to change, just let us know ^_^
Ok, starting off, we have plans for around 3 chapters that are decently long. Chapter 1 occurs during the 3rd selection arc, Chapter 2 occurs right before through a little bit after the U-20 arc, and Chapter 3 occurs during the Neo Egoist League arc. We're also going to include small interludes/dates that you have with the character after completing their route! For BLLK characters, you'll unlock their date once chapter 2 is finished, and for NEL characters, you'll unlock it once Chapter 3 is finished. Chapter 3 only unlocks once you've completed Chapter 1 and 2 (sorry Kaiser fans yall have to wait).
Because new datable characters show up in Chapter 3, you'll have the option to either continue your relationship with the character you were previously romancing, or you can start fresh and date one of the new NEL characters. If you choose to continue your relationship, the game will continue accordingly. If you choose to start fresh, the character you were previously in a relationship with will forget everything (dw you can still use save files to continue in Chapter 3 if you want) and you'll have a new selection screen for the NEL characters. In the NEL romances, you were still a manager for Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, but you didn't romance any of the characters.
One thing we do need to figure out is how we're going to make the content equal for both BLLK and NEL characters. BLLK characters get 3 chapters and a date while NEL characters get 1 chapter and a date, so it's pretty unfair to people who really want to be with NEL characters (｡ᵕ ◞ _◟). We're thinking about making the writing when you're with a NEL character in Chapter 3 longer than when you're with a BLLK character so it's somewhat fair, or we would add an extra date of some sort, or we could do both! If you have any ideas, PLEASE let us know!!! We're kinda stuck on this...(ᵕ—ᴗ—) Any kind of help or feedback is appreciated!
Another thing we adjusted was the MC. The 'canon' name is going to be Ritsuka Aikyou, but you can name yourself if you'd like! Leaving nothing in the name box when you click enter will result in your name being Ritsuka! ദ്ദി˙ ᴗ ˙ ) We also made it so instead of there being a male and female MC, there's only one androgynous MC that you can pick the pronouns for. The 'canon' MC would technically be male, but who really cares about that in a dating game ¯_(´ー｀)_/¯ MC will be implied androgynous but somewhat masculine in personality, but that has nothing to do with their gender, only the way they act.
We'll talk about MC's injury in a future + separate post due to how important it is to the story!!!
Yes, we’re going to add achievements. They won’t be added until the game is fully released though (after Chapter 3 gets added).
Also, we're going to be releasing the chapters separately! We feel like it'd be better to slowly release the game rather than releasing it all at once, this way we can have time to change certain things based on feedback we get, and hopefully improve by the time we release the full game! Chapter 3 and NEL dates + whatever extra content we have for them will be the last to release, so once again Kaiser fans have to wait (๑﹏๑//) This also means that we're going to prioritize writing BLLK charaters' routes and stories.
One last thing regarding shipping, this game won't include any ships outside of the Nagireo poly route and the Kainess poly route. If you don't like these ships or aren't comfortable with polyamory, you don't have to do them! These are only unlocked after finishing both characters' routes, so the poly routes are completely optional! Tabieita poly is very likely going to be added as a future route for a future update…(⌁° ‸ °⌁) Kaisagi is also a possibility but Kaiser having three routes is a little imbalanced but the players will have to decide that.
Please don't get offended or upset if your ship isn't here! We could always add extra poly routes in the future if enough people request it too (no rarepairs though). We are all big shippers here, but we can’t really add ships outside of the poly routes because it’s a x reader game.
