Have you ever had a paranormal experience?

I live in a small house that was fairly recently built. It’s not new, exactly, but it’s less than a hundred years old. My grandmother was the second person to ever live there after moving to a cheaper location to support her large family. This doesn’t leave much room for anyone to have died on the property, certainly only one generation of people prior to my grandmother arriving. The property is built over some old mine shafts. I’ve done the research; nobody died down there. By all accounts, this house should be perfectly ordinary and lacking in any form of paranormal activity. That’s how I reassure myself, anyway.
So the first story comes from my aforementioned grandmother. A year before her passing in 2017, she spilled the beans about something that happened to her when my grandfather was alive (he passed the year before I was born). She saw her husband walking down the stairs dressed for work. When she spoke to him, he didn’t respond, so she shouted to him. His shouted back from the bedroom. It was not her husband on the stairs. The man continued down the stairs and left through the back door of the house, a route my grandfather would take on his way to work each day. However, unlike this entity, my grandfather would usually open the door before going through it. The whole time, her husband was in bed while she argued that he was clearly walking down the stairs. I find the story slightly humorous, as she continued arguing with her (real) husband while his doppelganger left the house.
Chronologically, these events are the first to have taken place in this house (at least, that I know of) but this story came out following other, smaller events. It was certainly the most corporeal manifestation witnessed in our home.
My birthday is not too long after my grandmother’s, so when my 23rd came around there were still balloons from her celebrations scattered around the house. I was somewhat depressed and lonely around this time, and found it disappointing that my mother decided to tidy away the balloons, thus taking away anything celebratory at a time when I was struggling to come to terms with my increasing age. After midnight, ringing in the actual day of my birthday, I found myself in a state of melancholic reflection. I was snapped out of that by something I still cannot explain to this day. One of the half-deflated balloons that had been tidied away in another room came floating in to the living room. It had floated out of one room, performed a ninety degree turn to float down the hallway, then another turn to approach me in the living room. It floated through the door, across the room, up over the arm of the sofa, and along to the seat next to me where it came to a stop. I was flabbergasted. I tried to explain it away as a draft but there was no conceivable way a draft could carry a balloon along such a perfectly choreographed path. After a while of freaking out, I thanked whatever or whoever brought the balloon to me. I must have been visibly shaken as, between 15-30 minutes later, the balloon reversed its course and went to another room down the hall. It was in this room that my grandfather passed away 24 years previously.
There was a more unsettling event that I don’t remember the timing of. I’m not even sure if it was real or just a dream, but I’d like to include it. I woke up some time in the dead of night, only to see a shape in the dark. It was the form of a woman holding a small baby. She wasn’t fully manifest, more like she was imprinted on the visual noise of the dark. I didn’t realise it at the time but this year I was going through some of my grandmother’s photo albums and the manifestation closely resembled her when she was much, much younger. My grandmother had lost a child long ago, but I cannot explain why she herself would have appeared to me while she was still alive and, at the time, sleeping just two rooms away.
Paranormal activity is rare in my home, which makes sense considering it has little to no history and there’s no real reason for paranormal activity to be taking place there. However, following the death of both my grandmothers - the one who owned the home and the one on the other side of my family, within just a couple of months of each other - there was, of course, a long period of mourning that cast a dark cloud over the family. I believe this may have become a source of negative energy for the small spark of whatever was already there. My mother started hearing strange sounds in the night. I started hearing soft music that was coming from nowhere in my bedroom. Soon, my mother was also hearing music, and distant conversation. I tried to capture some of the mysterious music and chatter on my phone’s dictaphone app, but caught only a strange ticking sound (there is not a working clock in my room). This was all mostly ignorable until it became more direct.
My mother was awoken in the night by the sound of booted feet walking on her bedroom floor (I heard this from my room but assumed it was her). The footsteps approached her bed. She felt a weight press down on the mattress, as though somebody was climbing into the bed. She lay motionless. Then, right in her ear, came a deep guttural sound she could barely describe. Rather than show her fear, or possibly due to her sleepy state, she quite loudly told the source of the sound to, and I quote, “fuck off.” We’re British. This is how we handle the paranormal. Apparently, whatever creature was attempting to scare her had weak sensibilities as it immediately disappeared upon being told to, erm, leave. Still, this left my mother quite scared and she was unhappy to return to bed for several nights following - and even considered having the house blessed. She would not divulge the full information for my own sense of security, but apparently this wasn’t the first time she had experienced strange things in the night, but this was certainly the most unsettling. The fact that we both heard the footsteps solidified this as something more than a nightmare and unsettled us both.
A little over a week later, I was sitting in the livingroom with the stairs in my peripheral vision. The landing light was off and it was around 6PM in the autumn, so the stairs were dark. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw movement. Turning my head, I saw the silhouette of a man on the stairs. The shape wasn’t fully formed, but was clear enough that I could see that the figure had a walking stick which initially caused me to mistake it for my mother, who cannot walk unaided, until I realised she was in the kitchen. The figure walked down the stairs part way, before turning prematurely - well before reaching the bottom - and disappearing into the wall. I could only stare until I found my voice and gasped those now family-famous words, “fuck off.”
Since the appearance of the shape on the stairs, my mother claims the air feels much cleaner in the house. She feels more comfortable going to bed and her fears are fading. It would seem this manifestation was the culmination of energy that had been building for some time that was then discharged through this single event. Now that whatever lurks in our home is exhausted, we can hopefully assume it will be a while before anything paranormal rears its head again. However, if it really does feed on negative energy, that certainly makes me worry about how my clinical depression and occasional dizzy spells may relate to the events in our home.
Other, smaller or indirect things:
Several times, my mother and I have heard our names called by other people in the house, only to find it wasn't them.
On a nearby parking lot, a man took his own life through decapitation. I've never seen anything but a very stoic family friend saw a headless apparition in the area and a group of children warned me off the area after supposedly encountering "a monster" there.
My father once, while watching a meteor shower, saw a black triangular shape swoop silently by overhead.
I once, in the middle of the night, heard strange child-like giggling in a patch of trees where there was nobody to be seen.
I've seen two orb-shaped things in the sky that I couldn't identify, but to be fair I wasn't wearing my glasses and they could have been anything.
My father saw a small glowing orb shoot by him inside a supermarket.

As I mentioned in a comment on the poll:
When I was little, Mum took me down a new route to visit her aunt and uncle in her home town, and when we were going down a street of terraced houses I didn't know (we didn't live in that town), I asked her if we could stop and pet the friendly white dog that lived there. Took her aback quite a bit.
She asked some questions of me, and I told her the dog belonged to a little old lady who lived at a certain house, and I pointed it out. She knocked on the door, but didn't get an answer.
A young woman came out of the next house while she was knocking, and she told Mum nobody was living there at the moment. When Mum asked her how come, and who had lived there, she said there had been a very petite, white-haired old lady living there, but that she'd died six months previously - and the lady had had a little West Highland terrier, who loved children.
Both exactly matched the descriptions I'd given her. I had no natural way of knowing that.
(I was three or so when this happened; Mum was very unsettled by it, and who could blame her!)
A lot of paranormal believers would actually benefit from reading about how hallucinations are much more common than you think and don't necessarily indicate that they suffer from a Scary Brain Disorder. Anyone is 2 sleepless nights away from a hallucinatory episode no matter how neurotypical they are
For a while, I couldn't sleep for more than two hours a night, and started seeing insects and little green stick-spiders and all kinds of crazy shit crawling all over everything.
Also, since a local stray cat started coming to the window, I keep seeing black shadows flit back and forth out of the corner of my eye because I'm expecting him to be there waiting for me to open the window. Nine times out of ten there's actually nothing there.
I don't have any kind of condition that causes hallucinations (as far as I know). The human brain is just naturally a wet freak.
I’m an astrophysicist. I have reviewed hundreds upon hundreds of alleged UAP sightings. Most of the videos you see are infrared dots, tic tacs, maybe a triangle if you’re lucky. But this. THIS??? This was released today in the first batch of UAP files. This is from case DOW-UAP-PR38, taken over somewhere in the Middle East in 2013.
This is the only footage I’ve ever seen that sent chills down my spine. This isn’t anything I’ve ever seen before.
Video Description: This video depicts an area of contrast resembling an eight-pointed star with arms of alternating length.
00:10: The sensor field-of-view narrows to zoom in on the area of contrast.
00:11-00:29: The area of contrast moves within the sensor field-of-view, followed by a visible trail.
00:30: The area of contrast leaves the sensor field-of-view at the bottom right of the screen.
00:35-01:44: Following an apparent cut, the area of contrast generally remains within the sensor field-of-view before exiting the frame from the top left quarter of the screen.

“As If There Was No Gravity”: The Horden Werewolf/Levitation Case | Paranormal Stories
In this video, I examine a case from the UK in which a brother and sister claim they encountered a frightening creature on the stairs. From there, I will examine another unusual phenomenon that appears to be linked to the case.
do u believe 3am is the devils hour
Not even a little bit.
I wrote about where that misconception comes from here. Basically it was made up by the creators of the Amityville Horror hoax.
FUCKING THANK YOU.
The Witching Hour is midnight. It’s always BEEN midnight. In every source I’ve read that was written prior to the 1970s, there is absolutely no mention of 3am being any sort of paranormal or witchy thing whatsoever. No one mentions anything about “the Devil’s hour” or 3am or things appearing in threes being a mocking of the Holy Trinity until VERY recently.
From everything that I can tell, the Warrens popularized the idea and it caught on among modern ghost shows that stanned their work, and yanno, repetition seems to make truth with that genre, so….
There it is.
Awh fuck.
Now I don't get to be weird about being born at 3:33am.
Fuck's sake.
This is so fucking embarrassing. This is one of the most embarrassing business quips I have ever seen in my entire vile career.

Turns out Sarah Winchester was actually being haunted by AI techbros from the future
A new article documenting Kalani Smith, also known as Kalani Ghost Hunter, has been uploaded to the world's largest database of paranormal research 😄
Kalani Smith has had a relatively short span of involvement when it comes to the paranormal, but with a following of over 3 mill
I always get freaked out seeing photos of Kalani because he looks like someone made an American clone of me from memory and it hits that uncanny sensation in my head that something's off.
All right, look, I haven’t made a really firm post about this because I couldn’t be arsed and the Conjuring movies have been, up to this point, a relatively harmless bit of fun. But with the title and ripped-from-the-early-80s-headlines plot of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It freshly released, I think now is a good time to finally air all my grievances with these dumb assholes.
Ed and Lorraine Warren you probably know investigated shit like even outside their own film series they investigated The Amityville Horror (an admitted hoax by the family), the poltergeist activity that inspired The Haunting in Connecticut (more on that in a minute), etc. Any high-profile oooh our house is haunted case was likely to have these assholes right nearby.
I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they were just religious nuts who believed in some of the bullshit they spouted on some level trying to foist their Christian agenda on everyone. It’s no surprise that there’s nary a ghost to be seen in those movies, it’s all Satanists and Demons. That’s how they were in real life. Everything was Demons, you need an Exorcism and to let Christ into your heart. I believed this mainly because of their (yes, it’s real) “cursed artifact” room, which really is just a room full of shit a couple of religious nuts would want to confiscate.
Since there house is open to the public, some of the shit contained within is clearly just Halloween trappings, and the shit that isn’t is generally like Ouija boards, artifacts from other cultures, and my personal favorite, an Iron Maiden poster. Yeah.
So I was always a bit annoyed by these movies glorifying these fucking charlatans, but I was at least comforted by the knowledge nobody was actually getting hurt by their stupid bullshit and they clearly had some faith, even if they were fucking obnoxious about it
Then I read about In A Dark Place: The Story of a True Haunting. This apparent work of non-fiction by Roy Garton, who hates the book, thinks of it as the low point in his career, and is glad it’s out of print, was co-authored with Ed Warren and was the basis for The Haunting in Connecticut.
Garton, by his own admission, hates that the book is considered non-fiction, thinks the family was making it up wholesale, noted that they were struggling with drug and alcohol addiction and their story was consistently inconsistent. Everyone was telling him something different.
He approached Ed Warren with these concerns and ol’ Eddie boy replied with, and i quote: “Oh, they’re crazy. You’ve got some of the story — just use what works and make the rest up… Just make it up and make it scary.”
So yeah they don’t even believe their own bullshit, they never did, they don’t believe in Demons or Ghosts or Possession, they’re grifters taking advantage of people.
And this 3rd movie is about a man who real life murdered his landlord and claimed that he wasn’t legally responsible because he was possessed and the Warrens backed his stupid bullshit up and I cannot fucking abide that
So yeah fuck Eddie and Lori if there was a Hell and Dante had any insight about it, they’d be in the Malebolge, rotting forever in a plague pit with all the other Falsifiers and Counterfeiters
The Dark Watchers are a group of otherworldly beings that reside in the Santa Lucia mountains in Northern California. They are described as being tall shadow figures. Sometimes they are said to wear brimmed hats or are described as giants. If someone approaches them, they vanish. They are called the watchers because they silently observe anyone who passes by the mountains. The legend dates back to the Spanish, others claimed that the Watchers originated from the folklore of the Chumash people. However, no stories or spiritual beings in their beliefs matches the Dark Watchers. Many writers have been inspired by or had known someone who had seen the Dark Watchers. John Steinbeck mentioned then in his short story “Flight”. Allegedly his son Thomas saw them frequently as a child.Robinson Jeffers also mentioned them in one of his poems. While the Watchers have gained attention and interest for years, they may not be supernatural at all. Brocken Specter’s are atmospheric illusions caused by light reflecting off clouds and fog, causing a shadowy image to appear. Hallucinations and misinterpretation of surrounding stimuli could also be the culprit.
Cats have played a significant role in superstition and folklore around the world, appearing as both protectors and threats.
Cats have long played a significant role in superstition and folklore around the world. At times they have been said to be bad luck, in collusion with witches, and even (mistakenly) believed to have been worshipped as gods. While Ancient Egyptians did not actually worship cats as gods, they were considered sacred due to their connection to the gods, in particular the goddess Bastet. Compared to some of humanities other domesticated companions, such as dogs or horses, cats were only domesticated within the last 10,000 years (dogs, for comparison, being domesticated approximately 23,000 years ago), but despite their relatively recent addition to our households, cats have still gained a firm place in both our homes, and our myths…

The Dark Case of the Yorkshire Shadow Man | Two Decades of Real Life Terror
For over two decades, a man in Yorkshire claims he was watched by a tall, shadow-like figure that appeared repeatedly throughout his life.
What began as a childhood sighting slowly became something more disturbing, witnessed not just by him, but by others around him.
This episode examines the testimony, the timeline, and the wider history of shadow figures, separating what is known from what remains unexplained.
