fanart bootcamp

i‘m a traditional artist trying to get good at digital art. After a decade+ of sleuthing in all kinds of fan spaces, I decided I want to contribute. But first I need to get better at drawing digitally and also I suck at drawing people. Long story short, I wanna make the gay knights kiss and in order to do them justice I need to practice. This is the plan:

30 days heads

30 days full body

30 days hands

30 days landscape/background

So each day, I have to do one portrait, for each day missed I will add an additional penalty day. For now I will focus on anatomy but also on what form of abstraction/stylization I feel comfortable with. I also wanna work on clean and balanced line art. At some point I should probably practice coloring and rendering but that’s for future-me to worry about.

I‘m a few days in now and so far it‘s great fun to sketch without expectation every evening. Probably gonna post some progress pics after phase 1 😈 Wish me luck!

Sometimes I wish i started with the first kcd game so I could play the second game knowing all the lore but by playing kcd2 first you maximize the „my shayla“-experience, so that was a win
