“I promise, it’ll be okay.”
Beth Greene aesthetic
“I know you look at me and you just see another dead girl. I’m not Michonne. I’m not Carol. I’m not Maggie. I’ve survived and you don’t get it ‘cause I’m not like you or them. But I made it and you don’t get to treat me like crap just because you’re afraid.”

“You think they’ll notice?”
The Walking Dead - Beth Greene
❛ Are you okay? ❜
❛ Sure — I GOTTA BE. ❛
igottabe:
He’s never been at the Kingdom before, never imagined a place to look like THIS these days — heaven, almost, as far as he could tell after being stuck in a fucking cell for god knows how long. Distracted by EVERYTHING going on around them Daryl didn’t even see her standing there ; she was a VISION, looking just like he remembered, almost surreal with her golden hair surrounding her like a halo.
As that little ❛ O H ❜ he was all too familiar with pushed past her lips he LOOKED at her for the first time, staring straight into Beth’s eyes while he questioned himself ; was he still ALIVE, or was he dreaming ? But she was REAL, right there in front of him and he let out a sigh while he stumbled forwards, right into her direction. ❝ BETH — ? ❞, Daryl murmured quietly, far too exhausted to say anything else.
If this were a movie, Beth’d be in tears and wrapped around Daryl just like that. It’d be bright and light and joyous, but she can’t find it in herself to even move. Instead she watched him, more like a doe than a woman, her eyes too wide and her breath too still. She’d gone north to find her family, and she’d found it -- now what?
“They said there were people around -- someone new, I was s’posed to take you around, but -- “ She shattered that frozen notion, that if she moved too quick he’d be gone. Instead she pushed forward, close enough to grab him into a hug. The fear broke in that moment, afraid he’d shove her away, or he’d disappear.
“I’ve been lookin’ forever for you. I should’ve gone with you, I should’ve left.”

Beth loved children, truly, but it felt like she had little choice in the matter. Some days she had to wonder if the debt she owed Lori was worth all this, all the tantrums and diapers and pressure. She hadn’t wanted to have a child, certainly not so young, and she could care for Judith... But it crossed her mind like a song she couldn’t remember, the notion that maybe there was more she could do.
Walkers, cannibals, awful people -- she’d killed them all. The same hands that cradled a child had ended far more lives, and she was expected to make peace with that, all on her own. But what did Beth have to complain about, surrounded by off-white walls and warm blankets. She froze at the sound of a doorway, and at the creak of the floorboards.
All until the familiar slant of Rick’s weary smile appeared, whether he meant it or not.
“Oh -- you’re back. Thought I wouldn’t see you ‘til tomorrow.” She gestured to the crib, where Judith was asleep. It was late, far too late, and this all seemed normal... The babysitter and the parent, no blood, no struggle, just the way things had been.

The Kingdom bore little marks compared to everywhere else Beth had been to; she’d seen cities leveled and houses burned, she’d seen families torn apart in every sense of the word. It was culture shock in every sense of the word, from her first meeting with Ezekiel to her first tour with Ben. It’d taken her weeks to sleep without her shoes on, and even longer to set aside her crowbar.
Suffice to say, the position of greeter didn’t sound like something you’d find within the apocalypse, but it meant that she could help others like her find their place. She’d found one, teaching music to those who’d listen and caring for children whose parents were out on horseback. Except this? This was not the sort of greeting she’d offered before.
Cold; that’s close to how she felt when she saw the broad shoulders and shaggy brown hair. Not warm and excited, lit with joy, like she’d imagined, like she’d hoped. Instead she felt cold, like she’d stepped out of the grave itself. All the questioned burst forward in her mind, why did they leave her, why didn’t they look for her, why, why, why --
Whatever practiced spiel she had was locked away behind her shock, her lips parted and her eyes accusatory.
“Oh.”
starter call! like this for a short starter. will be muse-dependent, as I have two verses -- savior & kingdom. (There’s potential for an alexandria or hilltop one too, but hey!)

“Oh, stop it Beth. I ain’t that pretty. B’sides I know a few who would get jealous.”
“Oh c’mon, boys used to come over to do homework with me just t’see you.” It happened once, but once was all it took to form a memory.
