i have the most insane capitano brainrot of all time. like i can't stop thinking about him locking you away in his manor in the woods. he's distant but if you ask for anything (besides freedom of course) he bends over backwards to get it for you. your arranged marriage was arranged by him, and he loves you endlessly, even if he has few words and fewer touches saved for you. one night he comes into your shared bed and holds you close enough to suffocate you. he never really touches you, so you jump a little at the sudden contact. as he kisses all up and down your neck, biting in some spots, he tells you, "please let me be selfish for a while". he's been holding back. he wants you desperately.

thinking about 40 something year old dabi who's on permanent house arrest and also my housewife having a potluck with all the other aunties in the apartment building he can't leave (ankle monitor) and he spends all day cooking (his hobby after not being allowed out of the house) and then when i come home from work he gives me all the housewife drama
idk i just think that after a certain point of realizing he fucked up after kidnapping you and keeping you locked up in skyhaven, caleb's self loathing gets exponentially worse and he gets so upset with himself that you see him cry for the first time in years and he is a genuinely inconsolable mess realizing he has permanently damaged your relationship with him. i just cant stop thinking about caleb falling to his knees, sobbing, hanging onto your shirt, begging for your forgiveness. and you kinda have to forgive him because what choice do you have.

Not all of the people reading your x reader fics have white skin
Just a gentle reminder before you write characteristics that assume whiteness and exclude your black/indigenous/poc supporters-specifically in 'x reader' works.
I love and appreciate writers, but this is a recurring avoidable issue (going on for decades now).
"your dusky pink nipples" "your face turned just as red as his" "he could see the blush on your face" “your cheeks furiously blushed” “your ears burn bright red” “The look in your reddened face” “your knuckles white with effort” “bruised purple against your light skin”
Describing the physical feeling instead of the visual change helps include your readers while also elevating your writing IMO.
Anyone can say "Your cheeks turned red with embarrassment" or "Your face flushed" but wouldn't you rather say "A burning heat rushed across your face, from your neck to the tip of your nose, prickling right underneath the surface. You look anywhere but him, hoping your newfound interest in the buildings ceiling tiles will ease the fire tightening beneath your skin" And instead of the other character pointing out that the readers face is red, they can point out the obvious flustered facial expression/body language.
If you want your reader insert to have white/fairskin, then just label them white!reader or put the mention in the warnings/summary.
↪I have reached out to writers I favored/supported before and sometimes I have been met with severe hostility and defensiveness. I often wonder if people are doing this purposefully or for some reason think only white people read their fanfics (?)-if that's the case then be upfront and label your reader inserts as white!reader or something PLEASE. It’s gotten to the point where I feel like black women and other POC aren’t wanted or considered in these fandoms because it comes off like that in your writing. If you need a different motivation, just know you're missing out on more interactions, reblogs, and a bigger reader base. I don’t know why white is the default for so many writers in unspecified x reader/reader insert fics-the people on your blog following, reading, and supporting you aren’t all white and fair-skinned.
I am not talking about OC fics or fics where race/skintone is x specified in summary or warnings. This is specifically about unspecified "x reader" where whiteness is assumed as the default

i mean i can expand on the dream i had because i remember it pretty well lol
fairies were like normal human sized and everything. everyone had different colored wings, all monochromatic and nothing like multiple colors in one set of wings. while society wasn't based around wing colors there was one exception being that white wings were a part of the royal family, and those with white wings could only marry each other (royal bloodline nonsense). important to note that people from outside the royal bloodline could be born with white wings with a genetic mutation, and these babies would then be swiftly taken by the royal family and raised as royals (avoiding incest and the like you know). xavier had white wings, and in my dream i did not. here's where the sex ritual comes in!
the ritual was all in attempt to turn my wings white so that xavier could then marry me lol. the ritual was some weird shit he read in a dark magic book hidden in the depths of the royal library. essentially, someone made to orgasm enough times (under the right conditions and magic nonsense) could have their wings turn white. and it worked! yay happy ending.

dude.... i just think that like.... caleb feels this inability to express his emotions to anyone, including you, because he thinks you'll view him differently and possibly distance yourself from him. he thinks that emotions like anger, sadness, jealousy, anxiety, etc., will all make him look as though you can't depend on him like he wants you to. he feels like his reason for existing and continuing to stay alive is so that he can care for you and keep you safe. so he does everything he can to keep on a brave, happy face, and bury his true emotions so that way you don't have to worry about him and he can be the perfect dependable big brother figure to you.
all this being said, caleb has no one in his life he feels comfortable displaying any signs of "weakness" to. this leads to him taking it out on himself in both a release of emotion and punishing himself for feeling such emotions to begin with. caleb tends to blame himself for emotions he either feels he can't control (anxiety, rage) or doesn't feel justified in having (sadness, jealousy) and so he feels the need to punish himself for having these emotions, leading to a cycle of self harm. he does not self harm because he's suicidal. caleb has no intention of ending his life and never has.
i think for caleb it wouldve started around puberty and continued well into his adulthood, only stopping after moving in together after he realised you were bound to see him naked at some point (calebs 100% a hip cutter. speaking from experience lmfao). but even after going clean from cutting, i think he would find other unhealthy habits to substitute that don't leave permanent scars.
what i think is really interesting to think about is caleb and an mc who used to/also self harms. like i know caleb would never allow you to hurt yourself if there was anything he could do about it. he would continue to harm himself while he tells you not to, telling you that you can always come to him when you feel an urge, yet he never tells you he's struggling with the same thing. caleb doesn't see this for what it is: two traumatised children, now adults, trying to navigate their depression. instead, he sees another way he's failed you; another secret he'll take to the grave so he doesn't look weak in front of you. his thinking of self harm only applies to himself. he would never think of you as weak for feeling pain. hes just so????!?!?!??!?!? god he makes me mad. i love him so dearly.

caleb gets very jealous. pretty easily too, but most of the time he keeps a solid lid on it. caleb likes to be all smiles around you, never letting you know that anything is wrong. he thinks that if he were to display any "negative" emotion (anger, sadness, and in this case, jealousy) you would think less of him, and he would no longer be the reliable older brother figure in your life. he thinks that exhibiting these "negative" emotions, whether they are justified or not, or whether they are directed at you or not, will drive you away from him. so, he keeps most of his feelings to himself. he has a very solid mask that, even all these years of knowing him, is still very tough for you to see through. while caleb gets jealous, you probably won't even know.
i think the negative emotions caleb feels end up turning him into a big ball of self hatred, with all of these feelings of anger, sadness, and jealousy becoming the single feeling of "why am i like this" and caleb feeling like he's some sort of broken machine that doesn't love the way he's supposed to. my poor baby :(

i think that any chance of escaping caleb is very unlikely no matter what. I think the only thing that would give you any possible chance at escape is being either a tech wizard with crazy lockpick skills who can disable all his security measures or holding a knife to your throat and threatening suicide unless caleb lets you walk out the door. with either of these two options, however, you'll be back at caleb's house in skyhaven within two weeks. a month if caleb really takes his time. i think the biggest thing you could play up to make life cushier is your own despair. caleb hates to see you sad. if you tell him you're so depressed living with him you're considering suicide or self harm, your life will likely drastically improve. outings, extravagant meals and gifts, increased freedoms, you name it. caleb will do anything to make you happy.
