Day 2 - Training (Part One)

ahhfear leans into a melancholy color palette in their grim portrait of Noatak, Tarrlok and Yakone as the brothers practice bloodbending on the wolves in the tundra. Such great compositional choices here - Yakone’s large, intense form covers a significant portion of the frame (including Noatak). Noatak stares out in numbness, dwarfed by his father's corrupting presence. The smallest and most innocent of the bunch, Tarrlok, is the only one sensing the true horror manifesting in front of them. Great work!

TLOK AU Where it’s revealed that Senna (Korra’s mom) is the younger sister of Noatak/Amon and Tarrlok. Korra having to reconcile with the fact that both sides of her family are unhinged like no wonder her parents didn’t give her any siblings. Also finding out she’s the granddaughter of Yakone??

I think there would be some opportunities for juicy family drama in this AU. Plus it would give more for Senna to do too. I’d love to hear what other people think though.

As an aside in this AU it would be kinda funny that both Tonraq and Senna would be from the North only to settle in the South because of family issues.

I believe you mentioned that Tarrlok has a physical labor job, how do his coworkers react to this tiny kid working construction or whatever his job is?

GREAT QUESTION!!! and you’re absolutely right i did say that! i feel like it would feel nice for him to work his own body and not think so much about other people’s

i do think he gets some weird looks at first, but that’s not what he does intentionally, intentionally he stays home and hunts for food (so they can save money) then sells their extras.

so they already know him a little bit, he’s not very talkative. so they see this haunted looking kid who makes WAAAAY too much eye contact who they’ve only ever seen selling meat at the market (really tarrlok sells them, he just stands there scarily, they’re working on it) and so they are like almost kinda curious what’s up with him and hearing him talk to them even if it’s just a little bit.

what i have in my head almost reminds me of the nice man from zuko alone. he’s like “damn this kid is clearly dealing with something, give him a hammer so he can thwack it out” and i feel like some of the guys probably feel that way! then some are probably more weirded out by him.

i like to think they start treating him as “one of the boys” and i find that really silly like some guy ribbing his buddies then there’s noatak with the thousand yard stare.

Is Noa getting a love interest or what

hello!! sorry it’s taken so long for me to answer this! i don’t imagine either of them getting romantic interests in my au but that mostly because im focused on their relationship with eachother!

i don’t really have much interest in romantic relationships but i do think it would be nice for him to have a friend or a relationship outside of tarrlok. in the flashbacks he clearly struggled with a lot of apathy and connection after the experience of their bloodbending training so i think building a relationship that isn’t preexisting like his with tarrlok would be good for him!

Seeing Amon’s eyes from under his mask just adds to how terrifying he is and I don’t entirely know why. I think it’s just scary to see that he’s looking directly at you and is about to fuck your shit up.

He’s already intimidating and scary enough with how fast and strong he is, and with his bloodbending, he might as well have the ability to read your mind, so you lose the fight before it begins. But seeing his eyes just makes him more sinister

I hate that he’s definitely fully aware just how scary he is

(Especially when he’s up against Korra for the first time at Aang’s statue. That scenes freaks me out A LOT for multiple reasons, but one of the biggest ones is just how intense his eyes are. Doesn’t help that the animators took the time to draw his irises)

Anyways, he does have his moments where he’s kinda cute because he just reminds me of a cat due to how dark his eyes are. It reminds me of when a cat’s pupils widen, especially whenever they’re interested in something

He’s just a little guy sometimes and I hate that for him

A few Tarrlok fans and I are on a campaign to get Tarrlok added to the Avatar Legends: Realms Collide Mobile Game. It would be the first time Tarrlok gets official content since his debut in 2012!!

According to the Moderator in charge of gathering game suggestions, THE NUMBER OF UPVOTES DRAMATICALLY INCREASES PRIORITY CONSIDERATION BY THE DEVELOPERS
