Fresh out of culinary school, Molly’s just gotten a job as the head cook at Paddy’s Pub. 

She loves her new job, but has no idea that 90% of her customers are part of an irish mob. 

She’s even unwittingly run errands for them. 

Molly’s a sweet kid, but she can be a bit naive. 

She’s also loud and can be sarcastic at times. 

She misses her best friend, Cass, and is planning to go visit her in New York soon. 

She has no idea that this might be dangerous if any of the Morettis find out that she’s helped (even though she didn’t know it) the Connoghans in any way.

After both of his cousins left to go to America, Rick decided to go see what all the fuss was about. 

He really likes America. 

Especially the girls. 

He got a job through Declan working at a formal restaurant as a waiter. 

It’s a restaurant that Connoghan frequents and it didn’t take Rick long to figure out what was going on. 

He confronted his cousin about it: he wanted it. 

He’s now waiting tables by day and working as a foot soldier for Jack Donovan by night. 

He’s having fun with his new life now, but once he realizes he wants out, will it be too late?

Don Alfonso Moretti (57)

Immigrated with his parents to America in 1963.

His parents were poor

His dad sold vacuums

his mom was a school nurse

He didn't built his empire until he was in his twenties

He got involved with another Family as a foot soldier and quickly worked his way up

There was the war of the Five Families in 1978, which was an outright bloodbath. 

It left the Italian Families in New York without many of their key players. 

Moretti had always been a leader and his peers looked to him for guidance

He started his own Family and took in the remainders of the other Families to work for him

Since then, he has had no competition cornering the hotel, casino, and olive oil markets. 

Once you are a part of his Family -- blood related or no -- he will do almost anything for you

But you will owe him a favor -- to be repaid, in time, as he sees fit

He was pretty intense in his youth, but he's mellowed now and prefers intimidation to murder, although he knows when it must be done.

He loves his Family above all else

you touch them you die (no really you do)

He was about to move his son to underboss when he got sick

So his son never got the training he had wanted to give him

He is afraid he isn't ready

He knows Tony would be a better fit

And Mike better still, but he is very traditional and wants to let his son prove himself.

Santino "Sonny" Moretti (32) james franco relationships: Alfonso Moretti (father), Tony Moretti, Mike Moretti (brothers), Elena Moretti (sister), Adam Cassidy (best friend), Franco Moretti (uncle), Lucy Hart (fiancée), Lia de Luca (ex-fling)

Santino is Alfonso Moretti's eldest son and first in line to take over after his father retires. 

He and his brother Tony are opposites in a lot of ways. 

He's smart, but he tends to be rash and impulsive. 

While his brother can be cold and calculating when disposing of enemies, Sonny is always quick - two bullets to the head works just fine for him. 

Sonny's charming and knows what to say (as long as he remembers to think before he speaks which usually happens when he's angry). 

Speaking of which, Sonny has a fierce temper and is quick to anger. 

He is eager to take over for his father, even though no one seems to think he's ready. He knows he is and wants to prove himself. 

He was supposed to take over as underboos when he was old enough, but his father never made the appointment. And now, if he is to become the Don after his father, he does not have as much experience as he otherwise could have had. 

Sonny is a womanizer and will flirt with anything with legs. 

No one thought he'd ever get  married or settle down (although they thought Lia de Luca would be the one to do it) but he's engaged to Lucy Hart now. 

His mother does not like his bride to be at all. She is "not a nice girl" but she promises to welcome her as family once they are actually married. Until then, she's eager to throw girls who are "wife material" his way. Most recently, she's tried to get him to notice Emma Miller, but neither Sonny nor Emma are on board with that idea.

has the smarts to take over the “family business” 

but it wasn’t his birthright

was sent out to vegas to run the casinos when he was old enough

back in nyc b/c his father is ill

he is a gambler himself

but he doesn’t bet like a normal person — he doesn’t have “fun with it”

he bets like a brain surgeon

he has to know everything

he finds out the inside stuff nobody else knew and that’s what he’d put his money on

Micheal "Mike" Moretti (23) jared padalecki relationships: Alfonso Moretti (father), Sonny Moretti, Tony Moretti (brothers) Elena Moretti (sister), Franco Moretti (uncle), Rose Carter (best friend), Cass Carter (friend)

Mike may be the youngest, but his father has seen something in him that no one else has: and that is the ability to take over after Alfonso has retired. 

He once said this to his son, but Mike wants nothing to do with business side of The Family. 

No one else especially likes the idea of Mike taking over, himself included, and it hasn't been voiced a second time. 

But Mike's family do continue to try to convince him to take an active role in the business, even if he isn't to lead it. 

Mike has always been firm that he wants to pursue his dreams of being a doctor, but with war on the horizon, he is beginning to reconsider. 

He knew he would never forgive himself if he sat this out and something should happen to his parents, his siblings, his uncle and so he's agreed to help, thinking that it will easy to walk away when the dust has settled. 

He is currently in his first year of med school up at Harvard, but has taken leave to be home with his father.

Elena Moretti (19) crystal reed relationships: Alfonso Moretti (father), Sonny Moretti, Tony Moretti, Mike Moretti (brothers), Franco Moretti (uncle)

Elena is Alfonso's youngest child. 

Having a traditional father, she was never intended to be a part of the Family, in the same way as her brothers. 

This never sat well with Elena, who always wanted to prove herself just as capable, especially since she felt her father and three older brothers are so protective over her

She would much rather learn to shoot a gun than to cook in the kitchen with her mother (which she's never had any natural talent for. Her family always knows when she's been in the kitchen.)

When she was sixteen, she followed secretly followed Tony when he went out on a job. He was going after some guys who had tried to assassinate their father. They were amateurs who never had a chance of succeeding, but they still needed to be made an example of. 

Things went south quickly when Tony was outnumbered and the men were prepared for him. 

Elena ended up getting shot when she tried to help, which.distracted Tony and the two men and their associates got away

And while they have since all been killed, Elena still silently suffers from PTSD, but she'll never admit to anyone that being shot still bothers here, even though she has recovered physically.

She no longer expresses the same interest to join the Family Business, but she is unsure what she does what to do.

She just knows she doesn't want to end up a housewife like her mother.

She hoped that college would help but so far it just has let her know more things she doesn't want to do.

Her family is even more protective over her now and she has a bodyguard who follows her everywhere.

Franco Moretti (45) roberty downey jr.  relationships: Alfonso Moretti (brother), Sonny Moretti, Tony Moretti, Mike Moretti (nephews), Elena Moretti (niece), Veronica Martin (ex-fling)

Franco is the first American born Moretti and, as such, he has a slightly less transitionist view on life. 

He is more than a decade younger than his older brother and was spoiled by his parents. 

He's confident, to the point of being cocky. He's loud, flirtatious, rush, and crude.

He's everything his brother isn't. 

Still, he and Alfonso get along. Alfonso tends to shake his head at his kid brother and ignore most of his vices. Although he does constantly drop not-so-subtle hints that Franco should start a family of his own. 

Franco will always laugh at that suggestion. 

He can handle responsibility, despite what you'd might think upon meeting him. 

He's worked as his brother's underboss for years. He was just keeping the seat warm for Sonny, but Alfonso kept putting off the official promotion of his eldest son. 

Now that Alfonso is ill, however, Sonny's place has finally been given to him.

Franco doesn't think his nephews -- any of them -- are ready, but he does respect his brother's opinions and orders (even if he respects no one else's) and will always do as Alfonso says. 

Still, that doesn't keep Franco from thinking that he would be the best choice to lead the Moretti family, at least temporarily. He has experience that none of them can match.

Adam Cassidy (formerly Sean Connoghan) (34) michael fassbender relationships: Luke Connoghan (father), Sophie Connoghan (sister), Jack Donovan (childhood best friend), Sonny Moretti (best friend), Alfonso Moretti (boss)

Before he was Adam Cassidy, he was Sean Connoghan. 

He was everything to his father, who started training him for succession as soon as he could walk. 

But it was a life that Sean did not know if he wanted. 

He often had thoughts of running away and had even made plans to eventually leave with his childhood friend, Jack Donovan. 

When he was ten years old, a fight with his father led him to leave abruptly. He went to Jack, but his friend would not leave his newborn brother and so Sean went alone. 

He bought a bus ticket that took him as far as New York. 

He lived on the streets for a few weeks, where he met Sonny Moretti and his brothers. 

Sean and Sonny became fast friends and when Sonny brought Sean back to the house and told his parents his story, the Morettis took Sean in. 

Although there was a divide between the Don's children and Adam, Adam always felt at home with the Morettis and there are as much of a family to him as his own. 

The Don even paid for his education. Adam went to law school and is now working as the Don's lawyer. 

Adam is extremely intelligent and he is a pro at navigating the legal system. Any legal problem that the Don has, Adam can make it go away. 

Even though he's Irish, he has the Don's trust for life, but that's because he's never told them of his true background.

As he's gotten older he has realized he may not have made the right choice in leaving home.

He is torn now, especially, since there is war between the families

And knowing that his mother died without him being able to see her again, does not help

He wonders if revealing himself could stop the feud, but at the same time it may cut him off from one or both of the families forever.

Despite everything, he wonders if the Moretti's would ever trust him (let alone let him live) if they found out the truth.

For now he's biding his time -- he knows he must choose a side.

Aleksander "Alek" Nielsen (48) mads mikkelson relationships: Tony Moretti (boss/friend)

In 1995, Alek was suspected with three different counts of murder.

His brother had married the Don’s niece and requested that the Don help him.

The Don called in some favors and the charges were dropped.

Since then, he has been loyal to the Don and his family and has been repaying them with his life, which would have been lost.

The Don has never asked him if he was guilty.

He has been working as an enforcer/body guard/head of security for the casinos in Las Vegas with Tony Moretti. 

Most people underestimate Alek. They see him as a soft spoken gentleman, as a reasonable man. But there is a much darker, brutal side to Alek Nielson that not many survive witnessing. 

If you go after him, or someone he protects, you’d better kill him because he’ll keep coming back until one of you is dead. 

He cares for all of the Morettis deeply: they are more than family to him, they are everything.

Marco "Marc" Rossi (25) ian somerhalder relationships: Andrea Greene (soldier)

Marc was an orphan and after being mistreated in his foster home, he ran away and lived on the streets. 

He was picked up by one of the Don's men -- there were always out to look for strays to take in. 

He was given a good home and all he had to do was follow orders without question. 

He was young, ambitious, but above all grateful and he was eager to prove himself. 

When he was 19, he shot three men who threatened the safety of the Family.

They were able to work it out with the police, but the men he killed were from another Family and they would not be satisfied until his blood was spilled.

He was sent to Italy, where he’s lived for the past six years.

He’s home, now, again for the first time since then and has been made a Caporegime.

He’s not the same man that left. 

He was young when he killed and not a day goes by that he doesn’t think about it.

He’s drinks away his problems.

He’s eager to go back to working for the Don, however, feeling that, eventually, he’ll become numb to it all and able to move past what he did.

Lia de Luca (29) mila kunis relationships: Sonny Moretti (ex-fling), Connie Tessio (cousin), Franco Moretti (captain), Andrea Greene (sometimes partner/best friend)

Lia is easily the most dangerous female working for the Moretti Family.

She grew up with this life and neither knows nor wants any different.

She uses all of her talents in her arsenal to get the job done.

She can act like a lady when she wants to, but she drinks and swears like a sailor the rest of the time.

She had a fling with Sonny Moretti when she worked under him and some people thought that they might actually get serious, but nothing came of it. 

She is still working as a soldier, but many think she'll be the first female Caporegime. 

When she was 23, her cousin, Connie, showed up at her doorstep looking for a place to live. 

Lia was able to legally adopt Connie and keep her from having to go back to her foster home with help from Moretti. 

She's not much of a guardian - she's lets Connie do whatever the hell she wants - but the two of them do get along. 

She often works with Andrew Greene. 

She and Andrea are about as different as can be — Andrea is calm, collected, and meticulous, while Lia is loud and impulsive. But they have learned to work well together and have even become friends.

When her younger brother was falsely accused of robbing a bank, she put together everything she had to try to find him the best legal representation.

But it was still not enough

Her brother was all she had in the world and she would not loose him like this.

Her college roommate at the time was a distant cousin of the morettis and she sent her to them.

Her brother was not charged.

The don did not ask for a favor: he said it was his duty to protect the innocent.

Andrea, who had been studying criminal justice, dropped out of school and began to work for the Don after that.

She is not Italian and so she has been merely an associate for the past six seven years, but she knows that with enough dedication, she may become a soldier or even an Caporegime.

She had thought that she had earned her place and when Coppola died, she thought she would move up, but instead Marco Rossi has returned and she must work for him. 

But Andrea knows her duty, and she will obey her orders. 

She often works with Lia de Luca. 

She and Lia are about as different as can be -- Andrea is calm, collected, and meticulous, while Lia is loud and impulsive. But they have learned to work well together and Lia is one of the few people Andrea has as a friend.
