Sam blinked awake again. The light had changed a little. His limbs felt heavy, but his vision had cleared, and things seemed more normal. Less like everything was underwater.

Okay, maybe he felt so heavy because he had a body in his lap.

“Gabriel?” He’d thought it was a dream. Instead there was a very real golden-haired man leaning against him. He wasn’t sure what to think about that. He glanced around suddenly, gripping tighter to Gabriel. There were people everywhere. They all had their eyes on him and they were bad people.
