Some More Underrated, Underused Blood Ties Characters That Would Be Great For Fan Fiction
There is the badass Vicki Nelson.
She never backs down. She is great for all sorts of stories. Action. ☑ Comedy. ☑Slice of life. ☑ Horror. ☑ Mystery...um, she was a detective and is currently a P.I. so...☑ Hurt comfort (She has a disease that is taking away her eye sight and ability to navigate the world)☑
There is a lot of ground to play with.
The lovely, quirky Coreen Fennel.
She is funny, knowledgeable about the occult, loyal. Artistic and passionate. Oh and she is an unrepentant goth girl. Vicki would be lost without her.
She too is great in all sorts of stories.
You got Det. Mike Celluci
He is a good detective. An all around good dude. Can be a sad puppy (his face is like that more often than not.) Head over heels for Vicki (a lovers to acquaintance situation). And he "hates" Henry's guts (definitely jealousy and if you squint with shipper goggles on...there is something there)
But he can be a dingus so a little whump and hurt comfort would do him some good. A cop side story with or without a supernatural twist is cool.
The show only lasted 2 season so there was not a lot of canon established, but there are some interesting side characters as well.
There is Catharine (No last name)
She is a vampire that is over 500 yrs old. She has an amazing sense for aesthetics. In the modern day she is a fashion photographer.
There was only one episode with her if I remember, but you get the sense that she is very lonely.
She also happens to be Henry Fitzroy's sire.
Side note: The vampires in this universe can't stand each other and will fight to the death if they are around each other. A new vampire and their sire have around one year to bond and be together before that animosity starts to kick in, so there is no living together forever.
There is the cool Coroner Rajani Mohadevan.
She is a big help to Vicki when bodies start showing up. She is very observant. There wasn't too much screen time for her, but it is obvious that she and Vicki are close.
Girls night fics would be fun. Medical stuff to. I'm sure she would be cool in supernatural scenarios as well.
She is Mike Celluci's new partner. She is a rookie. There isn't a lot of screen time for her but it's clear she is a good detective. She is well aware that Mike lies on Vicki's behalf when the cases are "different". She holds her tongue. Does she got heart eyes for Mike...ehhh could have been a thing if the show continued, but I think so.
Then there is the priest Javier Mendoza
This guy is a whole bugout. He hunts vampires. He is very old. How old? If you have seen the show, you know the what's and why's.
He is intense, a decent torturer, and dedicated to hunting down vampires. There is so much dark fic potential. If your into it, this is the guy. He is a man of the cloth that is actually just as, if not more twisted then those he hunts.
And if you are into creep characters there are two that are available.
First is a demon, Asteroth (sp?).
Thats the best pic of him I could find. He is a driving force of the story because he had branded Vicki as his. Literally. And he wants her badly.
Finally we got Norman Bridewell
He was a human, but made a deal with the demon mentioned above. He is now a demon.
He is the quintessential "But I'm a nice guy" type of asshole. He is obsessively infatuated with Coreen Fennel. It's part of why he looks that way, he was a creepy twerp before, but really tried to dress as goth as possible to get on her radar.
He is so creepy. Great for dark fic though. And comedy, because messing him up in funny ways would be great.
I can not stress how creepy his is. People who saw the show know and can confirm.
