do i look okay.?
when i move out there will be nothing left of you. there will be no more purple duct tape lining the walls. that hat that has hung on the same wall for so many years, covered in dust, will not be there. and it's pathetic, like people who wait until new years to change, but i don't think i have the time to think about you while i peel layers of tape off the walls. in the coming months i will leave and the ghost of you will remain, in this trailer, wherever it ends up. a landfill, i'd hope. you're lucky if it doesn't go up in flames. but you'll go up in flames anyway, eventually.

I will never forget no matter how many times you dismember me and stick me back together. If my friends and family are to forget, I will remain, and when the time comes that you can no longer mold them to any shape you see fit, I will be here to remind them who they were before, who they always have been.
I found you much like a fresh wound that appeared in my sleep. Where had I gone, what had I done? I don’t want you, I never wanted you. Open, seeping. It seems i’m destined to coddle the infection whether I want to or not.
I sent you a letter and when you finally wrote back, you only asked why my handwriting changed so drastically with each letter received. I’d write you back to ask what you meant— that I had only sent you one letter. You haven’t written back, and as I spend my time waiting, I stare at my roll of stamps. It is nearly empty, and I think my hand has ached for a long time.
