PLOT NOTES

thinking maybe they went to school together for a long time but were kept apart by their parents (who could see that there was something dark in both of their daughters at risk of multiplying when allowed to interact) and then they ended up roommates somehow?? and basically discover that they are desperately attracted to one another because of this

end up together years later (uni? post-grad housing? city share). neither planned it, but it feels engineered by fate

first weeks are tense but polite, the way predators sniff each other before biting

then the old magnetism floods back. paige is reckless with it, azzi composed and predatory

thinking of one scene when they were in private high school where paige brushes past azzi but yanks her skirt down when azzi begins to roll it like the other popular girls and keeps doing it until one day azzi grabs her by the wrist and says nothing and there's a weird tension and then they #neveraddressitagain

paige’s compulsion → perv!p, but disguised as caretaking: she can’t stand azzi showing herself like the others, so she yanks her skirt back into “modesty.” except it’s herself she’s protecting, not azzi.

azzi’s response → patient, passive, lets paige keep doing it until one day she doesn’t. that silent wrist-grab is lily: she asserts control with calmness, not words, and suddenly the dynamic shifts. paige is caught.

later echoes:

p catches azzi adjusting her clothes again (rolling sleeves, slipping socks off), and the memory slams into her. 

maybe p even subconsciously reaches like she used to, but stops short this time.

beneath the water, the hollow between azzi’s thighs ache. she squeezes her legs together as paige’s fingertips trail across the skin.

In case no one has told you: If you feel like you "have to dom" or are always "expected to dom", and it feels more like a task than anything, then maybe you're not a switch. Maybe you're "just" a sub who likes making people happy, and that's okay, but don't pressure yourself into providing something for others that doesn't bring you you, just to please them. I'm picking this example specifically in this direction because there's always been more subs around than doms, and it can feel impossible to find a dom without a switch/switch dynamic.

There's no shame in being exclusively a sub or exclusively a dom. It's also not "boring". Your preferences matter, they're very valid, and no one's worth ignoring your own comfort for.

Also, if you do enjoy domming or subbing and still prefer to call yourself only a sub or only a dom, that's very valid too. Labels should make you comfortable and not make you feel like you've stuffed yourself into a too tight box.

And while we're at it: exclusive doms aren't more valid or better doms, thanks.
