If anyone needs me I’ll be setting up @bloodstainedlibrarian
She hesitated a moment, a worried look settling onto her face as she shook her head. “No, I don’t, it—-it’s just—-” Marcy shook her head. “I don’t—-I don’t know what expected honestly…” she trailed off for a few moment before nodding. “Yes, let’s start looking for Aunt Maz.”
“No one knows what to expect when they are new here. They think that everything will be decent — nothing is out of place and it’s what some would call normal.”
John couldn’t help, but chuckle at that, “Sadly, they would be wrong, but follow me… let’s try to at least find her, and not run into anyone along the way.”
“I’m not new here, though.” Marcy pointed out. “I’ve lived here as long as Aunt Maz has. She stays here ‘cause she doesn’t like staying in Mama’s big empty house with no one but our maid and me.”
Maz gave a low growl. “You will show me respect.” she hissed. “And I’m sure you know where she is but simply won’t tell me because you don’t seem to like me at all.”
“Respect?” He asked with a snort, “I am Darth Vader. It is you who should show me some respect. You may not like me, you may not even care for me, bit I DESERVE respect.”
There was then a pause, “As for you? You don’t deserve it at all.”
“I am the High Priestess of Irkalla.” she snapped, eyes flashing. “And you may be Darth Vader, but if you deserve respect, than I deserve it too.”
“You don’t deserve respect.” He spit out, “Tell me one reason to why you deserve respect, yes? Do explain as to why I should respect you at all.”
“Because as I said, I am the High Priestess of Irkalla.” Maz hissed in reply, her ears pitching forward as her eyes narrowed.
She wasn’t even fazed by his general demeanor. She was used to dealing with Nightsisters and Dathomirian males, a small child just wasn’t something that could intimidate her anymore. “You still look utterly adorable. I wonder how my cousin Tari would react to seeing you like this…”
At the mention of Tari, he got angry — why did she have to bring her up? Of all the people she had to mention, it had to be her, and it had to be now, “Shut up!” He shouted, “I’m not adorable! Stop saying that!” He pouted.
Maz only grinned and bent to gently ruffle his hair. “Why would I stop saying you’re adorable when it’s true? And I think I might just comm Tar’ika and see if she’d like to see you like this.”
“Oh, sure, you locked the gates and the doors to your private office, but we both know that hardly stops me—-or my cousins for that matter.” She replied, lifting her eyes to fix themselves on Victor. “And I’m sure there are others I could pester, but no one that I want to. Besides, I didn’t come here the express purpose to be annoying—-it was to show you what I found.”
“ ——- And you have shown me.” He stated calmly as his tapped on his forearm for a few moments, “If you have NOTHING else to do, go find someone else or even my machines —– they are there for a REASON.”
Feeling just a bit petulant, Maz stuck her tongue out at him. “But I don’t want to find someone else, I want to stay here. But I suppose you don’t care. Not that I mind all that much, but the company of a friend is still nice from time to time.”
books are my escape
Maz just grinned at him, her eyes glittering as she pulled the object back towards herself so she could continue to examine it with interest.
Absently, she wandered over to a chair, settling down and producing a small leather-bound notebook and a pencil, setting to work sketching it. Pausing in her work, she looked up at him, “I came to see you, of course. Alex isn’t around, and who else am I going to pester?”
“Anyone other than myself, Maz.” He stated bluntly as he folded his arms across his chest, “If I wanted you here, I would have asked for you —- we both know there is a reason I lock the gates, and doors to my private office.”
Victor then grunted, “You really have no one to pester besides myself?”
“Oh, sure, you locked the gates and the doors to your private office, but we both know that hardly stops me----or my cousins for that matter.” She replied, lifting her eyes to fix themselves on Victor. “And I’m sure there are others I could pester, but no one that I want to. Besides, I didn’t come here the express purpose to be annoying----it was to show you what I found.”
@bloodylibrarian
“Right, I was told you could help me with looking up a few things.”
Maz paused a moment before she looked up and fixed her eyes on the man in front of her. “Yes, that would be correct. Anything in particular you need help with?”
Okay, I am going to TRY to awaken foggy.
So, like or reblog for a starter.

Maz stopped then and turned around, an eyebrow lifting as she examined him carefully. “And…just where did you leave it? And what did you borrow—-though I doubt he’d agree with that if you didn’t ask his permission.”
Ky’lar took in a deep breath before letting it out slowly —- Victor wasn’t one to like things ‘borrowed’ from him, but especially when it was a device made specifically to enhance mutations ( or so he was told last time he was there), “Let’s just say that you don’t want to know what it is, but…. I also don’t know WHERE I might have left it either.”
However, in reality, he knew quite a few places he could have left it, but… all of them were not good. Especially the one that was on his mind —- the Hotel might have been safe, but he doubted it would be good if anyone found it there, “I guess we could start at the Hotel… as long as no one there finds it.”
Soft laughter pulled itself from Maz then, and continued for a several long minutes. “Fuck, Ky’lar. We really need to get that device back. Wouldn’t want the residents to start trying to take it apart and end up messing with it to the point that its utterly ruined, now would we?”
She looked at him then, and gave him a sharp-toothed smile. “Well, now you’ve got me interested. Did you fuck something up, perhaps?” she asked, moving out from behind the counter and gesturing for him to follow her towards the staff offices.
“I wouldn’t exactly say that i…” He then trailed off for a few moments as he moved to follow her, “Yeah, I sorta decided to borrow something from his lab, and I MIGHT have left somewhere I shouldn’t have.” More to the point, Victor was going to more than likely kill him if he found out about it, but again, that was besides the point.
“Yeah, I FUCKED up.”
Maz stopped then and turned around, an eyebrow lifting as she examined him carefully. “And...just where did you leave it? And what did you borrow----though I doubt he’d agree with that if you didn’t ask his permission.”
