The Blossoming Vessel woke up from their dream, falling off the rock they were laying on. It quickly stood up, looking at the bee.

"Wh- hi Cricket!!" They chirped, waving. "Did I... I... fell asleep oh yeahhh! I feel better now. well not all the way but a lot more."

*Cricket looks over at them and smiles, laughing slightly.*

"You sound better, and that's great. See, naps are good for you!"

They nodded.

"Can you tell me more about the cage- the. the place- the Queen's Gardens! That one!" They gave a very, very subtle nod. "Like why is it called that and stuff?"

*She catches their little word change but says nothing.*

"Oh, it's full of flowers and plants. It's calm and nice most of the time! It's called the Queen's Gardens because the resident and caretaker of the area is the White Lady, significant other of the Pale King and a root."

"That sounds pretty but A ROOT? ROOTS CAN TALK??"

They seem quite concerned by this fact.

"Heh! Not most. It's the name given to plant based beings! She's full of soul and other things I don't know about, but she's sentient!"

*She reassures them.*

"Ohh thats good. I think I have soul too. And root but thats mostly better now because of you!"

They raised their arms, holding them up for a moment in heasitation. They extended them out and gave Cricket a hug.

"thank you for that."

*The bee bends down to return the hug.*

"You're welcome. I wouldn't want you to keep hurting."

*She murmurs.*

They stayed hugging Cricket for a long moment, before pulling away silently.

"sorry... dunno what to say.."

"That's okay. You don't have to."

*She leans back and smiles at the little one.*

"You wanna go look for some cool plants? I have'nt found much, but I bet you would be really good at searching!"

They nodded l, almost aggressively.

"I can do that, I'd be good at that I think! I can also do this."

They seemed to concentrate for a moment, and a little white flower appeared from the ground.

"I never really told anybody that I can do that but its not super important really.."

They looked around a little.

"Where should we look?"

*Cricket's jaw drops, and she examines the plant a little, then looks back up at the vessel.*

"Wow... that's amazing!"

*She then nods and stands (brushing dust off herself and shaking to get it out of her fluff) then looks around. She gestures down a tunnel.*

"How about that way?"

They were staring up at Cricket, and mimicked her brushing dust off.

"Sure we go that way!"

They skittered up to the tunnel enterance, peering inside while waiting for Cricket to catch up to them.

She chuckles lightly and trails behind until the vessel stops, and after a moment, she strides inside.

"Let's see, what will we find... what do you think we'll find, little blossom?"

They giggled a little at the nickname as they started walking.

"Prolly moss n stuff. I know flowers good but those aren't normally in caves... what about you?"

"I think moss sounds about right. If we're lucky, I'm thinking we might find some mushrooms or some cool rocks!"

*She looks pretty excited about the prospect of cool stuff.*

"Mushrooms! Those ones! I've heard some are good for eating and some are poisssson. S'funny. Waitwait look!!"

The Blossoming Vessel picked up a broken rock and held it up to the bee. It showed some Magnetite inside. They seem very excited by it.

"I found blue rock!!"

"Good find! This stuff, Magnetite, can be valuable if polished well! Do you want to keep it?"

"uh. maybe. I don't care much for... valuable about it. Maybe I can pay back that pinbug? But I like it because its pretty."

They put it in a (plot convenience-made) pocket and continued searching.

*Cricket vibrates her wings slightly, then says "ooooh" and picks up a small patch of feathery moss, showing it to them.*

"This stuff looks and feels so soft... it could be perfect bedding..."

If vessels could make good expressions, you could tell they'd be awestruck. They placed their paw on the moss.

"So soft... like... the softest moss I saw. Wowww... this cave is so nice."

They looked under a rock, only to find a bunch of tiny, tiny bugs crawling underneath it.

*The bee giggles.*

"So many little guys, oh my goodness! They have such a good little cave to live in!"

"Yeeeah. Maybe they eat the moss you got? Then it's good we got it so they didn't steal it."

They continued scouring, finding a more moss and.. broken glass.

"Thhhat's not normal. No no no its not. Who got that here?"

*She looks very worried.*

"I don't know... that's worrysome."

"Yeah I don't know if thats something I wanna know.... eeeeeeeehhhh.... imma follow it."

They dashed off and went in the direction of the glass (which ended up being a weird trail). They stopped quickly, looking behind them to wait for Cricket.

"Cricket I dunno if there's something there I can't see over there its dark. Its dark everywhere anyways. Also dont step on glass."

"I'll try not to... I wonder..."

*She pauses and pulls a small container out of her bag, revealing a few Lumaflies to illuminate the space, and glances over at the vessel for a moment.*

They looked back at Cricket with a shrug.

"Nothin' there. Wanna keep going this way? Probably more interesting.

They didn't wait for an answer.

*She's slightly startled but turns to follow.*

"Oh, uh, okay, I'll follow you..."

As they walked, the cave seemed to lose its flair. Places where interesting things would have been were barren, and it was overall very gloomy.

"Cricket do not-fluffy bees exists?" They asked as they kept going, meeting another fork in the tunnel.

"Well, I don't know... I haven't met one yet, but there are variations of every bug, so I would think there could be."

*Cricket begins to get a little unsettled, antennae flicking back and down, but she keeps going, watching the Blossoming Vessel.*

They notice Cricket's unease, just barely.

"D'ya wanna go backwards? You seem nervous." They tilted their head slightly, most likely so they could see a little better.

*She glances around and nods.*

"This doesn't seem... right. If not that, then it looks like there's nothing to find. Broken glass, gloomy... might be a sign of a predator? I don't know..."

*The bee pulls slightly on her fluff, unsure.*

"...S'a cave. It's gonna be gloomy. I thought caves work like that?"

They looked back at the forwards way for a second, shoulders dropping.

"...we can go back now."

"Yeah. Let's."

*She turns around and offers her hand to the vessel.*

The veesel took Cricket's hand and they began walking.

They were unusually quiet, as if something was on their mind.

*Cricket looks over at them and tilts her head.*

"...Are you okay, little blossom?"

The Blossoming Vessel looked up at Cricket.

"Just thinkin'. Mostly about... my name. Since I woke up, just been thinking thinking thinking." They took out their notebook, flipping to the page with the names. They pointed to one of them.

"I think I like this one."

They pointed to one of the names, Daylily.

"Do you think it's... good?"

*Cricket thinks, then smiles.*

"I think it's wonderful. Daylily. A name of hope. Daylily, the strong little blossom."

They notice Cricket's unease, just barely.

"D'ya wanna go backwards? You seem nervous." They tilted their head slightly, most likely so they could see a little better.

"This doesn't seem... right. If not that, then it looks like there's nothing to find. Broken glass, gloomy... might be a sign of a predator? I don't know..."

The Blossoming Vessel woke up from their dream, falling off the rock they were laying on. It quickly stood up, looking at the bee.

"Wh- hi Cricket!!" They chirped, waving. "Did I... I... fell asleep oh yeahhh! I feel better now. well not all the way but a lot more."

*Cricket looks over at them and smiles, laughing slightly.*

"You sound better, and that's great. See, naps are good for you!"

They nodded.

"Can you tell me more about the cage- the. the place- the Queen's Gardens! That one!" They gave a very, very subtle nod. "Like why is it called that and stuff?"

*She catches their little word change but says nothing.*

"That sounds pretty but A ROOT? ROOTS CAN TALK??"

They seem quite concerned by this fact.

"Heh! Not most. It's the name given to plant based beings! She's full of soul and other things I don't know about, but she's sentient!"

*She reassures them.*

"Ohh thats good. I think I have soul too. And root but thats mostly better now because of you!"

They raised their arms, holding them up for a moment in heasitation. They extended them out and gave Cricket a hug.

"thank you for that."

*The bee bends down to return the hug.*

"You're welcome. I wouldn't want you to keep hurting."

*She murmurs.*

They stayed hugging Cricket for a long moment, before pulling away silently.

"sorry... dunno what to say.."

"That's okay. You don't have to."

*She leans back and smiles at the little one.*

"You wanna go look for some cool plants? I have'nt found much, but I bet you would be really good at searching!"

They nodded l, almost aggressively.

"I can do that, I'd be good at that I think! I can also do this."

They seemed to concentrate for a moment, and a little white flower appeared from the ground.

"I never really told anybody that I can do that but its not super important really.."

They looked around a little.

"Where should we look?"

*Cricket's jaw drops, and she examines the plant a little, then looks back up at the vessel.*

"Wow... that's amazing!"

*She then nods and stands (brushing dust off herself and shaking to get it out of her fluff) then looks around. She gestures down a tunnel.*

"How about that way?"

They were staring up at Cricket, and mimicked her brushing dust off.

"Sure we go that way!"

They skittered up to the tunnel enterance, peering inside while waiting for Cricket to catch up to them.

She chuckles lightly and trails behind until the vessel stops, and after a moment, she strides inside.

"Let's see, what will we find... what do you think we'll find, little blossom?"

They giggled a little at the nickname as they started walking.

"Prolly moss n stuff. I know flowers good but those aren't normally in caves... what about you?"

"I think moss sounds about right. If we're lucky, I'm thinking we might find some mushrooms or some cool rocks!"

*She looks pretty excited about the prospect of cool stuff.*

"Mushrooms! Those ones! I've heard some are good for eating and some are poisssson. S'funny. Waitwait look!!"

The Blossoming Vessel picked up a broken rock and held it up to the bee. It showed some Magnetite inside. They seem very excited by it.

"I found blue rock!!"

"Good find! This stuff, Magnetite, can be valuable if polished well! Do you want to keep it?"

"uh. maybe. I don't care much for... valuable about it. Maybe I can pay back that pinbug? But I like it because its pretty."

They put it in a (plot convenience-made) pocket and continued searching.

*Cricket vibrates her wings slightly, then says "ooooh" and picks up a small patch of feathery moss, showing it to them.*

"This stuff looks and feels so soft... it could be perfect bedding..."

If vessels could make good expressions, you could tell they'd be awestruck. They placed their paw on the moss.

"So soft... like... the softest moss I saw. Wowww... this cave is so nice."

They looked under a rock, only to find a bunch of tiny, tiny bugs crawling underneath it.

*The bee giggles.*

"So many little guys, oh my goodness! They have such a good little cave to live in!"

"Yeeeah. Maybe they eat the moss you got? Then it's good we got it so they didn't steal it."

They continued scouring, finding a more moss and.. broken glass.

"Thhhat's not normal. No no no its not. Who got that here?"

*She looks very worried.*

"I don't know... that's worrysome."

"Yeah I don't know if thats something I wanna know.... eeeeeeeehhhh.... imma follow it."

They dashed off and went in the direction of the glass (which ended up being a weird trail). They stopped quickly, looking behind them to wait for Cricket.

"Cricket I dunno if there's something there I can't see over there its dark. Its dark everywhere anyways. Also dont step on glass."

"I'll try not to... I wonder..."

*She pauses and pulls a small container out of her bag, revealing a few Lumaflies to illuminate the space, and glances over at the vessel for a moment.*

They looked back at Cricket with a shrug.

"Nothin' there. Wanna keep going this way? Probably more interesting.

They didn't wait for an answer.

*She's slightly startled but turns to follow.*

"Oh, uh, okay, I'll follow you..."

"Wh- hi Cricket!!" They chirped, waving. "Did I... I... fell asleep oh yeahhh! I feel better now. well not all the way but a lot more."

*Cricket looks over at them and smiles, laughing slightly.*

"You sound better, and that's great. See, naps are good for you!"

They nodded.

"Can you tell me more about the cage- the. the place- the Queen's Gardens! That one!" They gave a very, very subtle nod. "Like why is it called that and stuff?"

*She catches their little word change but says nothing.*

"That sounds pretty but A ROOT? ROOTS CAN TALK??"

They seem quite concerned by this fact.

"Heh! Not most. It's the name given to plant based beings! She's full of soul and other things I don't know about, but she's sentient!"

*She reassures them.*

"Ohh thats good. I think I have soul too. And root but thats mostly better now because of you!"

They raised their arms, holding them up for a moment in heasitation. They extended them out and gave Cricket a hug.

"thank you for that."

*The bee bends down to return the hug.*

"You're welcome. I wouldn't want you to keep hurting."

*She murmurs.*

They stayed hugging Cricket for a long moment, before pulling away silently.

"sorry... dunno what to say.."

"That's okay. You don't have to."

*She leans back and smiles at the little one.*

"You wanna go look for some cool plants? I have'nt found much, but I bet you would be really good at searching!"

They nodded l, almost aggressively.

"I can do that, I'd be good at that I think! I can also do this."

They seemed to concentrate for a moment, and a little white flower appeared from the ground.

"I never really told anybody that I can do that but its not super important really.."

They looked around a little.

"Where should we look?"

*Cricket's jaw drops, and she examines the plant a little, then looks back up at the vessel.*

"Wow... that's amazing!"

*She then nods and stands (brushing dust off herself and shaking to get it out of her fluff) then looks around. She gestures down a tunnel.*

"How about that way?"

They were staring up at Cricket, and mimicked her brushing dust off.

"Sure we go that way!"

They skittered up to the tunnel enterance, peering inside while waiting for Cricket to catch up to them.

She chuckles lightly and trails behind until the vessel stops, and after a moment, she strides inside.

"Let's see, what will we find... what do you think we'll find, little blossom?"

They giggled a little at the nickname as they started walking.

"Prolly moss n stuff. I know flowers good but those aren't normally in caves... what about you?"

"I think moss sounds about right. If we're lucky, I'm thinking we might find some mushrooms or some cool rocks!"

*She looks pretty excited about the prospect of cool stuff.*

"Mushrooms! Those ones! I've heard some are good for eating and some are poisssson. S'funny. Waitwait look!!"

The Blossoming Vessel picked up a broken rock and held it up to the bee. It showed some Magnetite inside. They seem very excited by it.

"I found blue rock!!"

"Good find! This stuff, Magnetite, can be valuable if polished well! Do you want to keep it?"

"uh. maybe. I don't care much for... valuable about it. Maybe I can pay back that pinbug? But I like it because its pretty."

They put it in a (plot convenience-made) pocket and continued searching.

*Cricket vibrates her wings slightly, then says "ooooh" and picks up a small patch of feathery moss, showing it to them.*

"This stuff looks and feels so soft... it could be perfect bedding..."

If vessels could make good expressions, you could tell they'd be awestruck. They placed their paw on the moss.

"So soft... like... the softest moss I saw. Wowww... this cave is so nice."

They looked under a rock, only to find a bunch of tiny, tiny bugs crawling underneath it.

The Blossoming Vessel woke up from their dream, falling off the rock they were laying on. It quickly stood up, looking at the bee.
