To “receive the Spirit” actually means to be “owned by the Spirit”. We don’t “possess the Spirit” - rather, we are “possessed by the Spirit.”
So, when we pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit - what are we asking for?

Wrote this in my Bible two years ago
Isn't it funny how we think we have to settle? "God, if I could only have _____ then I'd be okay." Only we find our expectations were too low. We weren't promised a life of mediocrity and our God is not mediocre. Maybe we find ourselves unworthy and ask for just enough to get by. *Newsflash* we're not worthy of that either. BUT GOD gives out of His love for us and does not withhold gifts from His children. After all, He has already freely given us the ultimate gift.
