How I have been using tumblr 'wrong' for sixteen years: - I never followed very many people; I have always hyper curated my feed for my sanity - I basically only follow folks I know from polyvore and people who post nice pictures - I principally use my blogs - turquoiseskye and my smaller ones - for aesthetic photo collection. Like pinterest, but more flow of consciousness. This blog is just for the purging of this sort of post - I was never actively involved in 'fandom culture' - I have never in my life read fan fiction (excluding roleplays I did on polyvore based on existing IPs, if that counts) - I never got into any of those old inside jokes - I don't give any toots about engagement. I have like two mildly popular posts I originally posted and its neat but it didn't change my life - I want to speak into the void without engagement. I don't want to be social. I want to have a little private hang out. A diary sort of place - I didn't care about porn so I didn't flee when they banned porn; I was miffed that it attacked nude art/fashion photography and the whole female presenting nipples thing but, eh - I do not comment, I hardly send PMs or asks. - Nothing about the UI bothers me? - I don't think this is a 'hellsite', especially not more recently. See the note about hypercuration of who I follow tho - I do not understand why folks feel like they can only use the three most popular social media sites still? After all we hate about them? If I see another 'TIL tumblr still exists' post on reddit I think I might roll my eyes so hard they'll pop out
