what fanon scara collei interactions largely fail to understand is that collei is the more emotionally mature of the two. they both went through hell and came back a better person but because collei is obsessed with appearances & a kind person at heart she at the very least understands basic courtesy & the mechanisms of self love, even if the latter isn't always actionable for her. all this to say scara would say some cynical demeaning shit and collei would break out in hives because all she can hear is her 12 year old self. how to tell this random 500 year old man that his manner of speech induces so much second hand embarrassment in her that she needs to kill herself

the characterization that collei has in the webtoon is literally so much fun i love how shes trying so so hard at playing the villain and acting like a grand schemer/manipulator despite the fact that she is demonstratably very very very bad at lying

okay i just realized collei and wanderer meeting would actually be so fucking funny bc wanderer would absolutely remind her of her younger self and collei HATES her younger self, refering to her as childish and even funnier implying she thinks she was CRINGEY

like she has that voiceline in which she quotes lines from an inazuman novel and then goes on to say its "too cringey" and she "cant read any more" of it

but BUT in one of her character stories it quotes the same lines from said novel and says that after reading she then couldn't sleep all night bc (its implied) it reminded her of her past self

something i think about constantly is nahida saying "after all, i'm just the moon: the real sun is long gone" bc its such a good representation of how she views herself in relation to rukkhadevata. the moon is a source of light but utterly pales in comparison to the sun. not to even mention that the moons light is not its own: rather it's a reflection of the sun already long gone. nahida views herself as insignificant in comparison to all rukkhadevata was known for and the legacy she left behind, like she inherited the role of an archon and its duties but only that. she was not given the things that made rukkhadevata so beloved and so becomes a lousy imitation of what was so previously adored: like the moon following the sun. this, of course, is only due to the misreatment she suffered at the hands of her people. if allowed to shine, she would have become her own star.

personal opinion but i dont particularly like the way genshin handled elezear??? like i know in the point of view of the actual characters its a good thing but i think its sort of a disservice to collei's character in particular, not to mention the "magical disability cure" trope is just Not Great in general. i was thinking about this and i thought about how collei would actually deal with this in private and imagine the thing that was at fault for everything bad that had ever happened to you just. disappearing without a trace, out of nowhere, after you spent your whole life fighting its battle. i just imagine it would feel. empty?? an empty victory??? like elezear was the reason she was handed over to the seer, it was why everything bad that had happened to her was allowed to happen and now its just gone??? and i think it really cements to collei how powerless she was against it, that for all she did to try to fight and manage it someone else swoops in and it just disappears in a night.

i think the only satisfying way they could have gone about it was perhaps giving those who suffered from it post elezear complications such as chronic pain and difficulty with their hands, ect stuff that they also dealt with when they still had the disease, or even where they still have all the effects from elezear like the scales and stuff but it just no longer spreads?? and maybe overtime it goes away and they get back most of their mobility but it still takes years.

idk i just think its an unsatisfying way to deal with it
