Cryptic but I like your style
So guys, I gotta say something–
I have seen an increase of muns making ooc posts about wanting to delete their blogs, comparing themselves to other portrayals, feeling anxious or insecure about their writing and dealing with general depression and anxieties and… It really hurts to see that.
It hurts me because I don’t see crappy portrayals or a distinct difference in what is perceived as Quality™. What I see are writers coming together to build and create stories and expand on these muses we write for. I see the passion for writing that is weighed down so heavily by our own selves because we do not allow ourselves to see what others see within us.
I’m not the best with my words. How I write my muse is very cut and dry at times. He doesn’t write with a floral, pretty style that I’ve seen my writing partners have and at times I do get a little jealous of the fact they’re so goddamn talented and then here’s me all ‘he went forward and got there.’
Truth is, if our writing partners didn’t get fulfillment and joy out of our work, they wouldn’t write with us. I’ve had 96 active threads at a time and I’ve had 2. Our quality isn’t based on our popularity or how well we write, it’s how we tell our muses story.
We are simply too hard on ourselves. And no, it’s not something you can just shut off, it takes practice and it takes effort. Real, genuine effort. Stop getting wrapped up in comparison because at the end of the day, even if you could write as well as this other muse, it’s not your writing but an attempt to replicate something that is not signature to you.
Ya’ll are talented af. I have friends on my Facebook feed who can’t write three words without misspelling something and it’s not because they’re impaired it’s because they just simple don’t want to improve. And that’s the amazing thing about writing is that you can absolutely improve upon it. Read tips and lessons. Look up some apps on your phone or the computer to better your talents and skill. Switch from past tense to present tense for a while. I can tell you that my writing drastically changes when I shift from one to the other.
We waste valuable writing time letting anxiety beat ourselves up about not writing anything special and eventually that leads to us not ever writing at all. Be kind to yourself and give yourself permission to write badly.
We have to stop this whole letting comparison beat ourselves down. Embrace your strengths and develop your weak points. RP is supposed to be fun, yes, but it’s only fun if you allow yourself the chance to write what you perceive as garbage now, so you can learn and grow from it.
As I said earlier, ya’ll are talented af. I hope this helps all of you who are struggling see that. 💙

“Don’t be silly. I want to stay up with you.” ((If you answer tonight I’m probs gonna just reply tomorrow))
“You sure you can?” Launchpad asked. “The new season of Darkwing premiers pret-ty late.”
blue-adventures:
“Well if it’s for Darkwing, I’m definitely staying up!” Dewey had exclaimed as he sat next to Launchpad.
“Alright!” Launchpad scooted over a bit to give Dewey plenty of room.
“Say… y’know what this premiere needs? Popcorn! And some cans of Pep!”
Dewey nearly sat down but gave a playful roll of his eyes.
“Do I have to get them?”

Munday: Ask the Muse
Anon or not, ask my muse questions about the mun. Whatever you wanted to know about the mun, from hilarious to uncomfortable, the muse will answer them from their point of viewl
blue-adventures:
“Ick!” Dewey said, eyes squinting as he shook his head.
“T.M.I!” He exclaimed playfully in a quiet whisper-shout. “That’s disgusting!”
“Oh yeah?” Launchpad chuckled. “You think us kissin’ is gross?”
Well, Dewey was a ten year old boy.
“Yeah! Kissing is like,,,weird! You put your brakes together and you can’t even breathe!” He giggled out.
blue-adventures:
Dewey snorted, head leaning against Launchpad’s arm now. The duckling was beginning to fall asleep.
“I’m glad you didn’t listen to him. Could you imagine what might’ve happened if you did?”
“I wouldn’t have you and your brothers, or your mom as my family,” Launchpad replied. “That’s what probably woulda happened if I woulda listened to him.”
Launchpad smiled down at Dewey.
“But neither of us took Scrooge’s words seriously and a day or two later, we hung out again. We went stargazing up on the cape. It was cold out so I gave your mom my jacket. And then we ended up kissing.”
“Ick!” Dewey said, eyes squinting as he shook his head.
“T.M.I!” He exclaimed playfully in a quiet whisper-shout. “That’s disgusting!”
Unpopular opinion
Real human lives matter more than fictional characters. Even characters and stories that mean a lot to you. People matter more than fandoms. If you bully and harass people because of their ships or headcanons, you need to stop and reevaluate things
blue-adventures:
“I can’t believe Uncle Scrooge didn’t give you the what for.” The duckling said in disbelief.
“Did mom really distract you that much?” He asked, even if it wasn’t too hard to believe that. Launchpad was easily distracted.
“Oh, he did,” Launchpad replied. “He was so mad he told me if I ever came near his plane or your mom again he’d have me thrown in jail for life. And then he’d beat me with his cane too.”
“And eh- Yeah, she did.” He rubbed at the back of his neck. “She… kinda started flirtin’ with me.”
Dewey snorted, head leaning against Launchpad’s arm now. The duckling was beginning to fall asleep.
“I’m glad you didn’t listen to him. Could you imagine what might’ve happened if you did?”
since Vday is coming up, this post is an official announcement that you have my permission to send me horrible, inappropriate, and outright hilarious tumblr valentines
Goodnight!
Hopefully I can respond to threads tomorrow!
blue-adventures:
Little giggles began to erupt from Dewey’s beak as he looked up at Launchpad.
“So much for a first impression.” He teased, nudging the larger duck playfully. His eyes had begun to droop, a sure sign he had been getting tired during the story.
“Was mom mad?” He asked, leaning back against the back of what they had been sitting on. He looked up, getting himself comfortable as he awaited the response.
“Nah. But she was worried. It was kinda her fault that we crashed, and she didn’t know if I’d gotten hurt or not. Y’see, she distracted me while we were flyin’ and I looked away from the skies for too long. By the time I looked back out of the windshield it was too late to not crash into the bay.”
Launchpad felt his cheeks warm at the memory. Della had flirted with him like no tomorrow. She’d flustered him so thoroughly he’d been unable to function. And darn her, she could still do that.
“Mr. McDee was really mad though. Your mom wasn’t supposed to let anyone fly the plane, and she really wasn’t supposed to take it for a spin that day either. But we did both.”
He shrugged.
“He eventually got over it.”
“I can’t believe Uncle Scrooge didn’t give you the what for.” The duckling said in disbelief.

blue-adventures:
Even to Dewey it felt nostalgic. The reason he was born was because of his parents shared passion for flying.
To Dewey, that was awesome.
He smiled gently, a yawn escaping his lips as he listened to Launchpad speak. “I can’t believe your side of the family is just a bunch of pilots.”
“Even before I met your mom, I flew all around the world with my family to shows. We did all kinds of cool tricks in the air. My mom and dad were the ones who taught me how to fly. I didn’t go to any flight school to earn my wings.”
A pause.
“So I met your mom at the show and we stood and talked for probably a couple hours. Then I told her I wanted to see Mr. McDee’s plane, and she took me to it. It was love at first sight. The Sunchaser was a beauty in pristine condition. I knew as soon as I saw her I had to fly her. It didn’t take much to talk your mom into takin’ me up in her, heheh.
We left the air field and went for a little flight around Duckburg. Your mom piloted for a while, but let me have the controls at one point. She wanted to see if I could get the Sunchaser to dance in the sky like my stunt plane. It could. If anyone was watchin’ down below, they got to see a cool show. I got that plane to do things you’d never think possible. And she held together through it all. And then I eh- heheh. I crashed.”

"It's nearly two in the morning, what are you doing up?" (( hello! maybe scout is a babysitter or something for the boys? ))
Dewey sort of froze from where he was in the foyer. Maybe he could get away with a quick lie? “Uh…I had nightmares.” He told her. Yeah, real believable Dewey. You haven’t even changed into your pajamas.
Scout raises her eyebrow in question. Dewey didn’t seem like the kind of kid who’d lie - but it was 2am, he was still in his clothes, and she was told not to be gullible when it comes to just talking to him alone.
“Uh-huh…”
Though Scout isn’t a stranger to nightmares, she isn’t a stranger to lies. He was definitely lying - it was easy for her to distinguish lies when it came from a kid rather than adult. She was sure she had put the boys to sleep at the right time his Uncle told her to.
“Yeah, I’m not buyin’ it kid. What’re you up to?” Scout looks at the kid in the blue shirt, raising an eyebrow and tapping her foot on the ground up and down waiting for an answer.
Dewey looked away, a big ashamed of himself.
Was he really going to just tell this stranger why he wasn’t asleep with his brothers? Yep.
“I don’t like going to sleep.” He told her, “it’s really hard. And when I can sleep, I actually do get nightmares.”
Now Scout felt a bit guilty. “Alright kid,” she said as she bent down to his level to meet his gaze - kids liked it when adults made eye contact with them, right? “I won’t tell your uncle if you can keep a secret.” she offered, “I’ve got nightmares to. Wanna know a good way to get rid of ‘em?” sure she can’t really get rid of her nightmares, but this is a kid.
How bad can his be? She didn’t really know what his were about, and it wasn’t her place to ask, but whenever she had nightmares she’d think of a song that kept her in a good mood. “I think of a song that I know will keep me in a good mood, have some sheep jumping over a fence mixed in with there, and you’ll be good!” she beamed, though it was her way of calming her nightmares at night it might not be his. “Or if you’d prefer another method, we can just play video games until you get tired?” she suggested.
Dewey didn’t always trust stupid scams like this; Louie pulled them all the time, but if he could sleep for a few hours, he was going to try it.
“You’re sure this’ll work?” He asked as he stood, nearly tripping over Scout’s human feet. “I just want to sleep.” He whined.
