One major factor that makes the nature of psychiatric treatment intrinsically violent is the fact that the boundaries of the patient is considered an obstacle to treatment. The lack of consent of the patient is considered an obstacle to treatment. These obstacles are abhorred by psychiatry and are considered things that must be broken down. If the patient has a disagreement with the treatment, or objects to it, this is considered a symptom and therefore is seen as something not to be validated or respected. Thoughts, behaviors, beliefs; these are all considered symptoms if they are in opposition to treatment and must be broken down. However, compliance with treatment is almost never seen as disordered or symptomatic, even if the patient is fawning or similarly complying to avoid more harm done to them. The fact that only extreme compliance is accepted by psychiatry is inherently violent and conditions people to accept abuse. Isolation and violence are not vectors of healing.

i'm literally being a menace at work this week i was like soooo impatient abt a team task we had to complete with ONE HOUR REMAINING and i couldn't coherently get out how i thought we could more cohesively complete it in the future (too many cooks one piece of paper front and back that we're allllll trying to fill out at the same time situation) i literally had to apologize to my coworkers for freaking out like 💀

#i can tell they're like dude ur being high strung af #literally i'm just going through nicotine withdrawal and the little energizer bunny inside of me needs to calm down #i put so much pressure on myself to do task complete task quickly so i can move on to the next 150 things im trying to get done #and if i have to wait on someone else to finish the task it's like i feel like i wanna pull out my hair cuz it makes me pump the brakes and #i get so fucking impatient but idk how to fix it !!!! bc im so stressed abt it taking away time from alllllll the shit i need to get done #i was being a bitch fr and all my coworkers are literally so nice but we had an hour until event time and like it wasn't set up and we #needed to wash weigh and log everything before the event #and i was like i don't want to skip lunch but i will to get this done #anyways i need to literally calm down and realize that not everything has to be 100% urgent or perfect #the pressure is too much and i'm like freaking out and i can tell that they notice im freaking tf out #but i'm just trying to be perfect and not fuck it up and it causes me to fu k it up bc i can't sit still for two seconds or else Bad Things #will happen and if i slow down that means im not being efficient or productive and wasting time on 1 task when i could've been doing 5 other #ones during that time *SCREAMS*#like i need to chill fr but it's so hard midday when i literally just want to take a nic hit and get my shit done #also when my brain spots inefficiencies in doing a task it's like nails on chalkboard #i'm like we could've done this so much more cohesively but if i point it out when im in energizer bunny mode it comes out like word salad #bc i'm trying to get my point across but also not hurt anyone's feelings #*CLAWING MY FACE OFF*#anyways i started my period this morning #i'm like how is it a good use of everyone's time if we have to wait for one person to fill out a the part of the sheet they have the info #for meanwhile there's info on the back of the sheet we have to reference but we can't bc a single person is using the front to fill out info #that we have to finish in an HOUR #anyways that type of shit makes me insane like pls can we use our phones and input it into good sheets so we can all have access to the #reference material at the same time AND all be able to write what we need to instead of waiting #like yes patience is a virtue and i know this task needs to get done #but the way we're doing it is inefficient i just stand there freaking out while the minutes of precious time left in the hour tick away #i was like gonna throw up i ate like three bites of lunch and then had to go do shit bc i felt so behind on my other tasks for the day #and anyways i'm just trying to be perfect and wonderful and excellent at my job which is impossible #i need to breath #if everyone else is fine with it i'll just have to take a chill pill
