ART!:
I do try to post art on occasion 😎 Reblogs are welcome! I'm always open to talk about art
She's I usually in more formal clothes; she likes to look her best (iconic beehive and all) but not much can be done about that crusty burn scar on her right cheek... loves to dress in her house colors! 🦅💙🦅 But if not, dark, cool tones are her fav. I usually draw her in Victorian style, but she's got some modern AU designs as well!! Under da cut;
LMASODFIJAOSDIJ okay for real:
Her style lwk reminds me of Bella Swan from the Twlight moves NAUURRRR
she may not be strong... or fast.... or competent....... or agile......... or intelligent............. or durable............... but by god is she cut!
Thanks for the tag @sage-pages and for making the template @blue-birdie612 💚 NP tagging @87percentcreativity, @colettening, @lyra-prag and @light-of-the-room 💚
Nim is really brawn, not brains. Do not expect her to have good plans. She gets a vague idea of what's going on and then proceeds to beat people to death. Like a totally morally correct person or whatever.
I approached this more like ‘if Maeve was a Pokemon’ tbh 🤣(a fire/fighting type for anyone wondering, I actually have a whole yap about that here) but was fun! What she lacks in magical ability and intelligence, she more than makes up for in physical strength and speed. And maybe I went overboard with editing… is there such a thing?
Anywho, yap below the cut ⬇️
MAGIC:
girl cannot cast shit. Well, she can, but it ends badly. Until a certain Snake come into her life that is…
STRENGTH:
maybe I exaggerated this one a little because she’s pint sized. But girl is all muscle, tbf. Would knock out a bloke twice her size (or likely die trying)
SPEED:
I literally tell you on fic page one how much she loves going fast (ON HER BROOM). It’s the Chaser in her, she treats her broom with the respect it deserves and it’s in great condition, but she does enjoy pushing the speed beyond its limits (I HC it groans and splutters if you push it too far. That might be in Harry potter actually?) But she’s like a Gen Z kid wanting the newest iPhone. When there’s a new model or part for her broom that promises to go faster, she has to have it (she does have a job lol)
STAMINA:
girl trekked around the highlands saving beasts with poppy. Girl plays quidditch matches that can go on for days. Girl puts up with Sebastian’s shit (well, debatable). Enough said.
AGILITY:
This one’s a little lower because she’s beauty and grace, but can be clumsy af at times. Will stand on her broom and balance to catch the Quaffle, but will knock everyone’s cup of tea over in the common room.
INTELLIGENCE:
pls see spell casting. But also, she didn’t really have much of an education before Hogwarts. She reads and writes and secretly loves romance novels, but that’s about it. She can tell you how to knit an ugly looking duck?
CHARISMA:
oh, she’s charming when she wants/needs to be. However, she’s more likely to stick a middle finger up at you and tell you to jog tf on. She’s nice to her close friends, to the younger kids she teaches, and people who’ve earnt her respect
Thank you so much for the tag, and this amazing sheet @blue-birdie612 !!!
Now that the common room series is finished, I've posted them all to my Ko-fi with high res downloads available! I'll link to each of the posts here. I would love to see more people try the "6 MCs challenge" and other art in these backgrounds!
Neutral hangout in the DADA Tower
Ravenclaw Common Room
Slytherin Common Room
Gryffindor Common Room
Hufflepuff Common Room
My backgrounds are available for others to use for non commercial art as long as I am credited and tagged. I do not consent to them being used with or for AI in any way.
I think my background art skills have improved a lot since the start of this series so really, if you think about it, Hufflepuffs are lucky that they lost the "which should I draw first" poll.
In the process of drawing this series, I came up with a whole lore around the house tea sets. There are brief descriptions about it on Ko-fi but there's a character limit so if you're interested, I'm going to do a separate post about the teacup lore, linked here
These are free to use but if you love my work and have the means, my Commissions and Etsy shop are open!
Elian Saerling doesn’t have very strong magic. He really struggled in his early classes, until he started Art Lessons as his elective. Once he found out what he wanted to do with his magic, painting moving portraits, he felt the drive to study all the necessary classes to succeed. His intelligence isn’t academic; rather, it's the ability to learn magic intuitively. He has high magical stamina, able to maintain constant spell work over the week needed to finish.
Maxi Collymore boasts both physical and magical athleticism. Not just a jock, he’s also a competent duelist, and finds spellcasting easy when it piques his interests. Fun is the number one driver for Maxi’s studies. His magic matches his physical strength, speed, and agility. Of course, Maxi’s number one tool is his natural charisma, something that seems to allow him an ease to his spellcasting.
Arsonus Ardis’ magic is the strongest of his class. He is often brought to Professor Weasley’s office for personalized training. His power comes from his connection to chaotic wild magic, a strange variety of ancient magic. His magic shows itself in strength and agility—always acting before Arsonus can react. Despite this, he and his wand strongly disagree, and he can rarely cast spells, leading him to fall behind in nearly every class. Arsonus’ real influence lies in his charisma, able to sway his classmates towards troublemaking and mayhem.
Beaumont Lestrange has a powerful connection to dark magic. His magic is deadly, strong, and indomitable. Before he can graduate, he flees Hogwarts, becoming a dark wizard so powerful that he brings the return of the House of Lestrange. Although not fast or agile, Beaumont is absolute. Any spell he wishes to cast will find its mark. He specializes in torture curses, spells so strong they can cause an agonizing death described as the Cruciatus Curse tenfold.
Suffice to say, Liya is not a fighter LOL…she doesn’t like to get her hair messed up or her uniform wrinkled (yes because that’s what’s most important here….)
Strengths: Magic (+ ancient magic hello?? Virtually overpowered mc sorry), agility (pretty quick if she wants to be), intelligence and charisma
Weaknesses: Strength and Stamina (she can’t utilise hand to hand combat to save her life) (cannot pack a punch whatsoever…literally that is, figuratively on the other hand….)
Special move: doe eyes (will use it to manipulate or charm her way out of a fight) (works surprisingly well) (she 10000/10 recommends) (you just gotta *blink blink blink* *stare lovingly even if u rly just want to puke*) (the acting skills come into play)
Though the only way Liya would engage in a duel is: if someone challenged her first (bc yk…she’s one prideful mf) OR if she thinks that the duel would be easily over with a singular spell (she likes efficiency)
Edit: another special move Liya has is Legilimency…though not to read minds perse, but to find a horrible memory/nightmare/ fear and capitalise on it by distorting it into something even more horrible
ruh roh guys….i think something b̴̡͍̰̖͓͇̍̒̈́̂͜͜a̵̡̛̛̘̦̼͇̥̗̗̺͓͙͎̝̱̖̠͍̐́͆̊̍̓̆̃̑̿͋̓͛̉͑̋̓̀̏̃̔͛̅̊̒͘͝ͅd̴̗̦͈͎̹͕̮̲̬̗̰͇͍̯̯̜͚̔͐͐͒̐̔͜͝ͅ happened in the woods.. anyway let’s play fairies together
ALIRIA MCLEARY STATS!
Stronger than you imagine her to be.
Magic: a confident wielder, magic is her second language. both regular and ancient magic.
Strength: she's small and not very athletic.
Speed: same as previous stat! she is not really fast, but:
Agility: ... but thanks to her height she is agile and alert.
Intellegence: she doesn't know everything, she can solve a particularly difficult riddle on her own but would spend more time on it.
Charisma: this girl is as sweet as honey. she's friendly and always knows what to say.
template taken from @blue-birdie612. been a while since i've yapped about Julia!! and theory for magic. fig still owes me O in owls and newts. i know he is dead. his graves owes me this much. so, her stats:
Wyrd is something I call wielders of ancient magic. It isn't an official term, just a silly word play I like something to designate them by + ancient magic isn't a kind of magic, it is an ability. A wielder of something is usually called a name, like welders or cobblers, so.
MAGIC
Julia is a wyrd. Her understanding of magic – the feel for it rather, is akin to what feels like speaking a language since birth to us.
Julia does not need to learn a formula or struggle to memorise things like names of the spells or wand movements; these mnemonics are fun but aren't important to her, not to mention each and every spell in the books have been created by someone with an intent, and that intent is nothing less of a whole another layer of a conceptualisation of the spell.
Diffindo is a severing charm. A seamstress created it. Tailoring scissors are sharp but should you imagine scissors before proceeding to analyse what 'to sever' means?.. Julia, sort of, skips the introductions because to sever means to sever; she is fast with conceptualisation and turning whatever that is she thinks about in to a form of magic.
There are limits to this capability. Native speakers of a language are able to speak it freely and quite complexly so, but not many are able to explain why certain things work a certain way or whether something does or does not make sense until they learn why (through philology, linguistics, and the like). Julia's case is the same. Something simple and relatively intuitive to her does not mean she understands what is going on.
As a student, however, she excels, because she is able to cast spells non-verbally, fast and at an astounding complexity; she also learns quick and she's generally intelligent enough to know to when to follow or diverge from given instructions.
Her sense for magic later allows her to become a builder (but before she became a full blown engineer she had to study, well, everything there is to building anything; Julia is a wyrd but she's never unbecome a muggle girl with muggle habits).
The rest is under the tag + another version of the template and the template's background.
STRENGTH
Not like Julia's delicate though. These arms can hold a hammer and can shoe a horse, work the garden and carry a cauldron, churn butter. It's just these arms wouldn't load coal or round a barrel – or moor a ship, or sucker-punch someone, or barehanded hold a horse in place.
SPEED
Julia isn't very fast either; her legs aren't for sprinting.
STAMINA
Her legs are for treading, hiking, jumping, balancing, stepping, trailing – for long walks. Julia can swim for a relatively long time, too. She's very resilient both physically and psychologically.
She grew up outdoors under the harsh weather of northern seas; she ran around Exeter like it was her personal playground until she started attending the muggle school – and then would help around the house of her adoptive family. She's not going to get tired from a walk across the Highlands or among busy town streets, or from doing some form of – often menial – house labour.
Granted, afterwards, she'd need a day to rest. She hates the creeping sense of the future fatigue.
AGILITY
With all that, Julia is also agile. She might not be strong enough or fast enough; she compensates with dexterity and reaction time, plus, she knows how to land herself and has a good sense of balance.
INTELLIGENCE
I don't know how to best describe it, but she is smart – and that smart, intelligent part of herself scares her as much as it makes people believe she is too cold, too sharp, too much of a shrewd, too direct, too blunt, a know-it-all, too unyielding, too demanding, too lax, too attentive, too uncooperative on the matters of sentiments, too stubborn in questions of attaching values to invaluable things, too reasonable, too unbending.
Julia is intelligent. It is her curse and a burden; she wishes she could possess the patience of Professor Weasley's or Aesop's.
CHARISMA
insert the joke about picking the white marble for tombstones Julia is charismatic in her own right!!
SPECIAL MOVE
Not as much as the move as much it is a passive ability. Her scar; it was left with the Expulso spell. Julia felt it like she was hit with a lightning. Since then, because of the residual magic stuck in her, she's able to sense electric currents around her (like a fox; when I compare Julia to a fox, that's what I refer to, albeit foxes use a slightly different mechanism when hunting – they're able to sense the magnetic field of Earth).
She can foretell the weather and read strong emotions of people.
BONUS: another version of the template (more blue)
I had this idea for a lil itty bitty chart and figured what the hell 🤪 What's your MC's strengths, weaknesses? What's their special move in combat? It could be anything, from an Ancient Magic move to a specific spell, or even some psycological trick that works on Ashwinders every time.
No pressure tags and other blank chart options under the cut! Even if you weren't tagged, don't hesitate to jump in! JUST TAG ME I WANNA SEE UR BLORBIES 👹👹👹
I've been mean to draw a REDACTED family portrait for AGESSS
If you didn't know, Harper is a partial amnesiac, unable to remember the first four/five years of her life. She occasionally gets flashes, but they're jumbled and incoherent. She was found wandering in a charred dress, with no fires reported in the nearby area. She had nothing with her but the clothes on her back and a silvery locket around her neck, welded shut. She can't even be sure about things like her birthday... her name...
Uncensored/scratchy version under the cut!
yes they all have names and lore LMFSODIAJFDSIO but that will not be made public until I get around to my post-Hogwarts fic which will not be until I finish Year 5 AND Year 6 😩
Happy Pride!!! This month is a good one to remember all the queer folk who have helped get LGBTQIA+ rights to where they are today, and a REMINDER that all are welcome here on my blog! Terfs BEGONEEEE
Semi-sappy yappage below lmao
I often find myself struggling with a strange form of guilt, being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community while also loving the world of Harry Potter so much. It was a major part of my childhood, and I know resonated not just with me, but with millions of other queer, neurodivergent kids who wanted a place where they felt they belonged. Now, as I've grown older, I see the comfort came from the people who shared the love with me, not the stories themselves. I'm so grateful to know these wonderful people in similar boats as I, and look forward to many more years creating and making this little world our own!
was inspired by this post of Thorn's to C R E A TE !! ! Turns out both our blorbies grew up in London, although under very different circumstances...
LORE TIME::
Harper spent the majority of her childhood in Miss Darcy's Home for Unfortunate Girls, an orphanage that fancied itself a finishing school for the lesser fortunate. It could have been a lot worse, she admits, especially as she follows the Mother Superior along the streets of London on their biweekly constitutional. However, she'd never seen one of the street urchins do that before. Must be seeing things.
