🚨 The internet needs you 🚨
You’re up again, Tumblr.
Back in 2015 you demanded that the FCC adopt strict net neutrality rules and establish a free and open internet. And you won.
That should’ve been the end of it. But apparently not.
The new head of the FCC wants to undo the net neutrality protections you fought so hard for.
His proposed changes open the door to your web traffic being slowed down, or even blocked altogether. You could be forced to pay extra to use your favorite apps. You could even be prevented from getting news from the sources you trust.
Title II protects consumers and democracy by ensuring all voices can be heard.
You know the drill. Here’s what to do:
The FCC is taking comments from the public, and dearfcc.org is making it as simple as possible for you to make your voice heard.
Go there now 👉 dearfcc.org ✌️
You’ll just need to provide a name, an address, and then say a little bit about why rolling back Title II protections is a bad idea. If you’re not quite sure what to write, here’s something to get you started:
I’m writing to urge you to keep our Open Internet rules based on Title II in place. Without them, we could lose the internet as we know it.
The proposed changes to FCC rules would allow fast lanes for sites that pay, and force everyone else into slow lanes. We’ve already seen access to streaming services like Netflix, popular games like League of Legends, and communication platforms like FaceTime slowed down, or even blocked. Conditions like this hurt businesses large and small, and penalize the users who patronize them.
The changes also open the door to unfair taxes on internet users, and could also make it harder for blogs, nonprofits, artists, and others who can’t pay up to have their voices heard.
Please leave the existing net neutrality rules based on Title II in place.
Thank you!
If you need more ammo, feel free to quote these experts from our net neutrality Issue Time. TechCrunch and Battle for the Net also have some good starters.
Everyone is counting on everyone else here. Do your part and tell the FCC to keep a free and open internet under Title II.
THE ONE TIME I AGREE WITH @staff
alright I’ve been hesitant to reblog a net neutrality post to my snake blog but fuck, even staff is on this boat, I hope it comes across as important
It’s hard to comprehend the fact that forever might not include you. I just can’t stop hoping that you’ll pop up again someday and we’ll talk like nothing happened. Silly, right? You not being around is quite the hard pill to swallow. It’s also another pain I’ve been trying to dull. Painkillers can only do so much, they can take away the headaches or the pain in my back, but they can’t fill the void in my nights that you’ve left at all. I wish we were more than this, more than whispers in the wind that never quite seem to reach their destinations, more than poems like this that never seem to get the true extent of my feelings across. If I had my way, I’d have you listen to my heartbeat instead. You could notice the way it skips on the rough nights when the moon is still out, and the stars still shine, and the streetlights are still lit, but you are still not here. Even with all of that light, those nights still manage to feel darker than they should be. I wonder if you have nights like these too. I wonder if there’s a song sad enough to explain how much I miss you. It’s probably out there somewhere, played in a minor key and filled with dissonant chords to show you just how confusing and melancholy this lack of you is. There was a time when I was a little taken aback by how honest you were, but I grew to love it. I wonder what you’re thinking now. I wonder what you’ve been thinking since we’ve stopped talking. I wish I could stop wondering, but you know I can be quite curious and with you, I can’t see there being an end to that. Knowing that I used to be able to ask you what was on your mind and that I can’t now doesn’t sit well with me. I just can’t seem to accept that our story is this short.

Dear someone,
I guess I couldn’t see it in your eyes. That you were broken, like the rest of us. I thought you were broken, ya know? But in a cool -Rated R for Adults- kind of cool way. You never acted like me or any of our friends. You seemed above us. But you were human. Like the rest of us.
You were like this badass friend that tricked parents into thinking you were good. The kind of friend a parent could praise. Parents would sneak little phrases like ‘You should be more like them.’ And I could smile. Because I knew. I knew you bought me alcohol and watched *bad* movies with me.
This isn’t to say you’re evil, as if to imply I’m good. Because that’s not my intention. I wasn’t great and you weren’t either. I smoked cigarettes around and questioned your faith. I made you feel like shit with my offhand comments. While you bought me alcohol and tried to tell me I was a piece of shit, in a nice way though. Tried to get me to change. And you did. You made me hate myself in a way I didn’t think was possible. But I’m glad I met you.
Not that I love you or wish we were still friends, because that’s not even kind of true. I’m glad we met because you taught me to see people better. I expected you to be more than a person. I expected you to not make mistakes. I thought we were going to be those kind of girls who were *BFFL* kind of friends.
But you were just as girl and I was just a friend. And like all things in life, friends fade.
John Green was right when he said: 'What a treacherous thing to believe that a person is more than a person.’
Love always, Charlie
This is amazing
Ok but how did they make it look like he was driving
Do you think the universe fights for souls to be together? Some things are too strange and strong to be coincidences.
