Chilli-garlic-lime shrimp with quinoa, spinach, cucumber, orange bell pepper, tomato, cilantro and lime.
Top of the to-do list.
Travel Lesson #526
Always ask if people want their picture taken, because sometimes those very same people will show up at the local bus terminal at 3:50 am, you'll find the public terminal to terminal shuttle together in the airport (airport locals tried to convince us that the shuttle wasn't running and that we'd have to pay $50 MXN to go in a Land Rover collective), and share an early breakfast. They might also be wonderful Peruvians and might offer you free accommodation in Lima.Â
Contra las muchas penas, las copas llenas; contra las penas pocas, llenas las copas. (Against a lot of pain, full cups; for not a lot of pain, fill the cups.)

Coconut, in a hammock, under a starry sky.
You can take the girl out of Costco, but you can't take the Costco out of the girl. (Stocking up on fruit at the market.)
Vampire juice, vampire pants.
Note to Self
Next time you're considering whether or not to take a local bus from Piste to Mérida, and you're asking yourself, "how many pueblos can there really be between one and the other," the answer is, a lot. A whole damn lot. (Still worth it to hear Hombres G careening around the narrow center streets at ~50 mph though.)
Day 1. A vegan taco with cheese, green juice and fruit salad. Gran Museo del Mundo Maya--meteorite explosions, typical Mayan dwellings, peninsula history housed in a delightful contemporary structure meant to mimic the jungle. Palacio Cantón/Museum of Anthropology--neoclassical French building, now houses much of nothing since its collection was moved to the Gran Museo. Great air conditioning though. Additionally, black mole with aguacate at an acquaintance's house, great ice-cream I already mentioned, and too much sweating.

Fun Facts about Roosters in México
They start singing at about 11 pm and do not stop until you get out of bed. They also sound like donkeys being slaughtered. Maybe they were donkeys being slaughtered.
View from hotel balcony.
I always set three intentions for every trip.
Lychees and rambutans from the market. One of the best reasons to live in Mexico.
The weekend according to Astrid. Poetic men alone in mezcal bars, a whole lot of grains, the Central’s watermelon, and of course, the Virgen de Guadalupe.
