Clark and Bruce are well known friends.
For a while now Clark keeps around with Bruce on how they maybe should get married at this point since they spend a lot of time together and know each other so well, but a lot of friends joke like that.
Maybe Bruce has had a crush on Clark for a while now, but does it really matter if they work well the way the are?
Yes, since adopting Dick, he keeps asking for Superman to join them on sting operations or any random case.
Yes, he gets regularly to family dinner as well as him inviting everyone over at the Kent's
Yes, he has a designated room just for him with a few of his clothes if he ever does spend the night (frequently)
Yes, they both share their dinners, lunches and even breakfast if the occasion allows it, with or without a case to work on.
That doesn't mean that Clark isn't joking or what he's saying is meant to be taken seriously, even if he says it when no one is around.
What is definitely a surprise is when Dick is having a nightmare and after trying to calm him down and invite him to Bruce's bed, he asks for Clark.
Obviously Bruce tries to tell him that he must be busy and that it's too late at night to try and invite him, but looking at the corners of those stressed eyes start to fill with tears he can't help himself but to sigh and make the call.
Clark was noticeably taken aback but doesn't question the little boys thinking and gets to the manor in what only seemed a rush since he had basically taken 1 minute, already in pajamas an d his own blanket,
And even though they both went to sleep with Dick being in the middle of them for maximum comfort, imagine their reaction when they woke up to him being at the foot of the bed and them on each other's arms.
...they pretended to keep sleeping.
and yeah, maybe they should get married, no?
