Rinch as the least problematic ship :D

Okay. See, Harold and Reese are broken. They’re not people that can live in mainstream society. So yeah they have issues. Harold and his privacy. John’s past. Both of them however, like to play cat and mouse games. They like to do surveillance. they like to watch and learn. So, yeah. Reese following Finch around would be creepy under normal conditions. Yeah, Harold watching Reese for a ling time would be problematic. except- John and Harold agreed to this. They set the perimeters early on the association. 

The Pilot had Harold saying, “Sure you are gonna try to learn about me but I am not gonna make it easy for you.”

So, yeah this might not be mainstream romance but it is consensual. No one should shame a kink as long as it is participated between two human adults who can and have given informed consent.

Other than their brokenness- There is not one factor of the RINCH relationship that is problematic. they respect each other, they communicate, they prioritize the relationship above everything else. They allow each other to be themselves. they express their caring, they show affection with no shame. They fight but make up. They give each other space but still remain a single unit. Any marriage counselor will tell you that although unconventional- the Reese/finch relationship is solid and healthy.

Finch refuses to take gun from Reese few times in 419 not merely because he is afraid of gun and violence, caz he knows once he learns how to protect himself, there’s nothing can stop Reese to give up caring about his own life (self-destroy plus heroic complex). 

Finch just can’t bear to lose Reese, after he already loses a dear friend (Shaw).
