“There is truly nothing more humbling than hanging out with a group of grade schoolers. They roasted me so hard even I was laughing at it. I mean who knew kids their age even knew who gumby was?” Josh had spent the day at toy drives and mayoral holiday events and now he was ready to get drunk since his time off started about an hour prior to his arrival at the bar. “Anyway, this next drink goes out to a young dude named Leon who told me so many yo mama jokes I think I should give him a medal for it.”
“Gumby? That’s brutal. I feel like I should be extra nice to you now, if only to counteract that shit.” Ava gave him a sympathetic smile, trying not to laugh at his story. “Do you want another drink? I’ll get you one.”
