here's the references for the grovyle and dusknoir designs from my last post! ignore that grovyle's is two years old

some design info + additional thoughts under the cut!

Grovyle

the patterns on his vest are based on common motifs found in coast salish weavings. the very back doesn't have a design yet but i will do that... eventually

his bag has embroidery on it that was done by celebi that i decided not to picture for scale

his weapon of choice being a sword is in reference to him having the move leaf blade in game

Dusknoir

in my heart dusknoir would dress like a 50s italian mobster but i could not think of an excuse that would make sense with the setting that he would be walking around in a three piece suit

in the end, he ended up leaning a little more cowboy but i tried to evoke a little of the mobster imagery with the pinstripe shirt

Misc

i wanted there to be a lot of contrast in their designs both in silhouette and the kind of vibes they evoke

grovyles outfit leaning more towards streetwear/practicality while dusknoir os dressed noticably more formal. though i didn't want dusknoir to look too out of place (as previously mentioned) so there are a few details present (shirt untucked, sleeves rolled up) to make it clear that he is ready to get down to business
