What's your favorite Zutara moment?

You know what moment I almost picked?

But I’m gonna change my answer to this one: 

Because it shows how far they’ve come. Zuko opened up to Katara yet again about his insecurities and fears just like he did in Ba Sing Se. I love how easy it is for him. Zuko’s normally so guarded yet doesn’t mind being vulnerable with Katara. He’s so worried because he doesn’t see how Uncle Iroh can forgive him. It’s important that Katara’s the one encouraging him because she was also someone he betrayed that day. Someone who had faith in him to make the right choice, someone who changed for the better. She forgave him and she knows Iroh will too. That carries some weight with him. 

It’s this scene (and others) that leads Zuko to ask Katara to come with him to face Azula, This shows us why he didn’t hesitate jumping in front of that lightning bolt for her, because Katara’s become a close friend that he loves cares about deeply.

One of the many great themes in Avatar is the idea of second chances:

Aang gets a second, even multiple, chances at saving the world

Zuko gets a second chance at redemption

Katara gets a second, even multiple, chances to protect someone 

Sokka gets a second chance to be a leader 

Iroh gets a second chance to retake Ba Sing Se (with a new purpose)

Iroh and Zuko both get a second chance at having a father/son relationship, with Iroh getting a second chance at being a father (or rather, father figure)

"Hey Iroh, long time no see." Korra said seeing the young General

Hearing her familiar voice, Iroh stood up to greet her. “Korra, what a pleasant surprise. It is good to see you again after all this time.”

“It is how have you been?” The avatar asked the last she had seen the general was when Amon had taken over the city.

“I’ve been busy. Raiko wants to implement new policies to prevent further chaos and Revolutions in Republic city. Trust me when I tell you you are a sight for sore eyes.” He replied as he finished arranging some documents.

“What sort of new policies?” She asked taking a seat opposite of the general. Korra wanted to at least try to understand the politics behind the world leaders.

“He is trying to change Tarlok’s and the previous council’s rulings that made many of the non-benders feel so oppressed. He is also establishing a new United Forces Task force that will keep an eye of the city at all times.” He said as he looked at her proudly of her taking interest for the city’s well being.

So, now that The Legend of Korra ended, and my fanboyism is all over the place, I’ll take the chance to start a series of drawings with characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender, or Legend of Korra! Firts, the kid that started it all! Aang! Which character from the series would you like to see next? I’m open to suggestions!
