I’ve been needing to get this out for a while, I haven’t seen it as much lately so I’m going to get it out of my system now while I can. 

What I don’t understand is why conservatives are so blind to the limits of their sensibilities on this issue (and others like it). Too biblical and conservative to accept these people for who they are? Fine, but turning it into law makes it worse for everyone. They want it their way but don’t see the glaring irony in what it could cause: more and worse problems.

Afraid of birth-certified men (that tend to look more like women) inside women’s restrooms? Then clearly the logical thing to do is make laws to force people that identify as and tend to look more like men into the women’s restrooms instead, and force people that will be easily mistaken for women alone into men’s restrooms. If there was a trans in your bathroom and that bothers you, wouldn’t it be better to not know?

The only thing worse than the tranny boogeyman that might be in the bathroom with you because there’s no laws against that is laws forcing obviously trans individuals into your intolerant midst. How’s that better for you, them, or the children you’re so concerned about sheltering from these issues? Instead of having to explain to little Jane why some lady looked a little strange, you’re gonna have to make her feel comfortable pissing in the next stall next to the male-passing, birth-certified woman that fills the restroom with the song of his sultry baritone as he jiggles the drips from his post-op junk.

If they refuse to understand and accept these people then why not allow them the simple courtesy of privacy that would make it easier for everyone without having to invoke law? And speaking of law, why can’t we make THAT into law: if we can all of a sudden mandate morality then why not aim higher and enforce things like privacy? “Mind your own business” bathroom laws: a sensibility higher than a bronze age god.

Get ready cause it’s going to happen: red state bumpkins are going to gawk at a dress for 30 seconds before they realize the jawline standing at the urinal is a birth-cert boy. A few extra visceral gut reactions around the Southeast per year and boom, factored increases in incidence of violence on trans. That’s all these laws are: discrimination in action. Trans people can change their sex but these red staters can’t even change their minds. (Btw, there’s a hidden argument in there for religiosity being a gender. Remind me to look into getting religious reassignment surgery, lobe me out of this red dysphoria, I’m sick of this shit.)

Too conservative and biblically sensible to support, like, or understand trans? Fantastic. Such is your right (even if it is the choice towards ignorance and apathy), but the right to your opinion is not a reason for discrimination because there is no reason for discrimination.

What really bothers me is that the people screaming about supposed “Nazism” whenever anyone so much as disagrees with them and now suddenly have an interest in antisemitism only to for the sake of trying to blame it on Trump (when antisemitism is a disgusting, hateful thing that has always existed) are the same people who previously couldn’t give two cares about Israel/Jews. These are the same people who were completely silent about antisemitism before. Or if not silent on the topic, they are the ones ready to demonize/turn against Israel, condemn them for defending themselves against Palestine, and are all for having their land taken away from them. Desecration of Jewish cemeteries is sadly nothing new and it disgusts me that the recent attack on a Jewish cemetery is being used by the left as a “See?? This happened because Trump is president!” thing when they were completely silent about every other time this has happened along with all the other antisemitic violence that has been happening all throughout history. Trump is incredibly pro-Israel, so blaming antisemitism on him makes zero sense. But this isn’t even about defending Trump. Conservatives are outright dismissing criticism of Trump as if anyone who disagrees must be a dumb liberal or a cuck.
