18. Racism is still the key sin of American life. As much as my heart says economic inequality, racism ties together everything. It’s the constant.
19. In kindergarten, they assigned us the task of writing a half-page story about ourselves. I turned in 6 pages about me, a dinosaur, and various events in our neighborhood. I really like worldbuilding.

24. I didn’t like most of my teachers, because they never had the focus for someone as challenging as me. But I had an English instructor for AP Eng in High School who, I think, was the best of normal white men - smart, aware, tried to grow everyone rather than just impart knowledge. It was a great introduction to what learning COULD be like before I hit college.
25. I’ve done a LOT of ‘puff things, but just today, I stayed up late to finish laundry and reinstall Windows 10, despite having hard a long day at work. The laundry was mostly my partner’s, and the laptop is her daughter’s. There’s been worse ways to spend an evening.
