I didn't realize how soft Aziraphale had made Crowley until i saw A YELLOW SPOT on the plant. What have you done to my demon?!?!

I don't even think he treated his plants as badly as it was implied.

What do we know really? That if a plant isn't looking good he takes it out and scares the others, but Crowley lies all the time. He probably doesn't have enough space now to keep up the act.

The point is that Crowley was soft from the start, he's bad at being a demon.

At first I was wondering if it was some kind of inside joke, because David Tennant was in Ducktales, but then I realized that first joke is in the book.

I only learned about this around a few years ago too, because I randomly saw a comic about someone misreading the eggplant emoji, glad to see I wasn't the last one who didn't know.

I still avoid using most emojis because I'm not comfortable with things I don't understand.

Also, I was only told quite recently that they call it aubergine too. I did study French and recognize the word but I wasn't expecting to hear English people speaking French, there's also courgette I think but I'm going to keep calling it zucchini. Unless I'm trying to speak French, but i'm not very good at it.

It's kind of funny how I'm suddenly remembering having seen Michael Sheen in two movies, before Good Omens, and I really liked him too (he was my favorite character, his acting still looked brilliant even dubbed) but for some reason I never looked him up…

The reason I watched Good Omens is because my sister is a fan of David Tennant from Doctor Who, she literally forced me to watch all the modern Doctor Who and he is her favorite (personally I quite prefer the whole River Song arc which largely happened with the doctor after him). She also made me watch Broadchurch, because David Tennant of course, which wasn't quite as fun.

Shortly into Good Omens I already couldn't deal with how adorable Michael looks as Aziraphale. David doesn't have quite the same effect on me, I mostly just liked his hair (especially the long styles, I think long hair suits him) and he was funny, but of course I can see he played the character beautifully.

Basically every time I see Michael Sheen I'm so hypnotized by his expressivity I'm not really following anymore.

I'm so mad they muted this scene in the dub.

I checked all the versions and apparently the only one that forgot to do anything in it is Italian. I tend to watch stuff in English anyway but I'm still disappointed...

Hi! My mum and I had a conversation in the car where I mentioned how funny I found this bit, because I had read it as Anathema thinking that she had, in fact, just been run over by a very campy gay couple, and a campy gay couple wouldn't harm her. But my mum read this as Anathema, who she thought could feel that Crowley was a demon, realizing that she was also in the presence of an angel, and an angel wouldn't harm her. And I guess I just wanted to know which was the intended message?

The version that Terry and I had in mind when we wrote it was the former.

Reading the comments I realize that things that were perfectly obvious to readers in the UK 33 years ago don't land the same way now.

If anyone has been in any doubt about what Anathema was thinking the line that would have made it utterly clear would have been..

...the "two consenting cycle repairmen".

In the UK the 1957 Wolfenden Report recommended that 'homosexual behaviour between consenting adults in private should be no longer a criminal offence'. And the phrase "consenting adults" became a euphemism for gay men once the recommendations of the report were put into action and male homosexual acts were decriminalized. (It took a decade and happened in 1967.)

So, yes. She thinks they're gay. And she was safe.
