Time and time again, I never get bored of reading this series #hisdarkmaterials. It's such an imaginative piece of literature that is perfect for adults as well as kids.

The Middle-Earth aesthetic | Mirkwood | Silvan Elves, Wood Elves
Beneath the roof of sleeping leaves the dreams of trees unfold; When woodland halls are green and cool, and wind is in the West. When summer warms the hanging fruit and burns the berry brown; When straw is gold, and ear is white, and harvest comes to town; When honey spills, and apple swells, though wind be in the West, I’ll linger here beneath the Sun, because my land is best!
Late Night Thoughts:
Let's talk about horror and in particular the fear that it instills. In my case, your classic horror i.e. Ghosts, Demons, the occult, gore and violence don't actually scare me all that much. However, cosmic horror terrifies me to my core. Just the thought of being tiny and meaningless in a vast indifferent universe both scares and intrigues me. For example, the first time I read annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer I was thoroughly unsettled by the events taking place (I'll leave out the spoilers, for those of you who haven't read it) and how the characters actually responded to them as well as the way the story itself unfolds. I would also like to draw attention to the work of HP Lovecraft, his work is predominantly cosmic horror and many of his stories are frightening, but in an unorthodox way, the characters aren't necessarily being murdered or killed with intent, their deaths are ultimately meaningless.
