Boanerges will be playing at The District Lounge on Sunday, June 16th! Show begins at 7pm. Pacific Nature Recording #23, Boanerges' "Inside-Outside" Cassette Series, will be available for sale! Local bands, The Higgs and Red Undead, will also be playing the show.
We’re going on tour and we need help. We need space to occupy with sound. We want to immerse you in our audiological mixaverse. Our route will take us up the coast to the bay and sac-town, then down the valley to the southern half once again. Or the reverse, it doesn’t really matter as long as we get to bring you sound, flowing across the landscape of the state.
We're gonna be playing some improvisational ambient guitar noise jams mixed with some field recordings on tour as well, all pumped through a pair of stacks. We need some visuals if anyone has any ideas or would like to come on tour (or anyone that wants to ride along).

Field recording in the foothills of the Bay Area.
Out of the blue comes something slightly startling- gently groaning- full of shimmering thunder that ripples across the magnetic coils of the tape. The desire of stillness and the impossibility of stillness collide on this tape, full of pitch shifted street-life and ambient guitars, improvised in a darkly lit room on Channing Way in Berkeley, CA. Field recordings of the street are deftly mixed with layers of droning guitar, improvised live by two young post-graduate wanderers living off the detritus of their college town, Boanerges, the Sons of Thunder.
The recorded sounds of the street congeal with the bedrock of floating guitars couched warmly in the analog sound of their illustrious four track cassette!“Inside-Outside Channing Way” is PNR’s first cassette release. Pacific Nature Recording #18
