no matter how much she stole from strangers and worked for others, anastasia managed to always find herself in the same position - in debt, trying to get her fair share of rent in and trying to avoid using oliver’s credit cards to pay for her child’s necessities. it took a while for her to actually swallow her pride and accept the help from others. the blonde was always quick to build up her walls, never wanting to ask for help. she wanted to show everyone she could do it on her own and she didn’t need anyone by her side but as she continued to struggle as every passing second went by, she found herself asking for help. however, when she was told about this job she knew she had to take it. of course like every other normal person, she was hesitant at first. getting caught meant jail and she didn’t have money to bail herself out. but there was also the fact it would get the pushkule house back, it meant being able to pay her rent, buy her child some things, buy the pushkule children some things. it meant getting some stress off of bobbi’s shoulders, be able to pay aaron back for getting both her and bobbi passports as neither of the two had one nor did they think they needed one until omar told them. after that, the pros began to weigh more than the cons that she accepted it. of course she dragged bobbi along with it, knowing that barbara was just as desperate as she was at this point. the two of them had nothing to lose but so much to gain out of this they couldn’t just turn the offer down. taking a deep breath, stas drove into the driveway, repeatedly telling herself this was all going to be worth it in the end. rolling down the car windows of the car that didn’t even belong to her, she honked the horn a few times and screamed, “come on bitch, we’ve got a country to get to and a limited amount of time to get there. - and i have a fucking child to take care off. isaiah is going to go insane i swear to god, who the fuck just drops a kid off with no warning saying ‘i’ll be back in a week’?”
the first time stas mentioned the idea, bobbi had pushed the thought away to the darkest part of her brain and didnt look back. however, the second time, as stas and herself stood there making a list of the pros and cons -- bobbi leaned towards the idea just as much as their list did. this would not only help her, this would help stas. they’d make it out, they’d be able to pay for their stuff, this would help khaled, this would help them keep her house. nonetheless, she was still a bit hesitant, especially when the name aaron came up having said, ‘ i’m not asking that man for anything’ a profusely amount of times and yet, here she was, a bag in hand, passport in the other; ready to put a thelma and louise with her best friend -- long ago decided that they wouldn’t let each other do anything alone -- as she walked towards the car. a small laugh fell from her lips as she gazed at the car, they were always able to find something they didn’t have in such a unbelievable short time. ‘ i’m fucking coming!’ she yelled back, a smile on her face before throwing the luggage in the back and hopping in the car. ‘ a mother who doesn’t want to traffic drugs and guns with their kid in their car. you’re being a good mother -- a kid shouldn’t be around that. ’ the girl laughed, stas and herself having been around everything and anything as they grew up, but that’s exactly why they didn’t want their siblings, kids growing up like that. the world had fucked them up good and now? they were just trying to make everything better for their little family. ‘alright, so, i got all good road trip essentials. food and trap music. omar said that when we get to the border of mexico and they ask what we’re doing -- celebrating our last days of college freedom. great excuse, right?’
