In 2020, Cindy Banda's sister Melissa was kidnapped and murdered in South Texas. Before the grief had any chance to settle, Cindy made a promise. She would raise Melissa's three children as her own, alongside her three kids.
Six children. One mother. A promise made in the worst moment of her life.
She has kept that promise every single day since.
This week, Cindy reached out with an update that stopped everything.
Doctors at MD Anderson told her they are no longer confident she will beat her cancer. The tumor, she was told, was larger than most they have seen. There is a strong possibility it could spread. If it does, they told her, there is nothing more they can do.
She wrote about the fear that keeps her awake at night.
"My biggest fear is dying from this painful illness and leaving my children without their mother and my nieces and nephews without their aunt."
She has been crying in private, protecting her younger children from the full weight of what is happening. Her older children know the truth. They sat together and cried when she told them the treatments may not work. She could not bear the thought of leaving them with unanswered questions, not after they had already lost their aunt the way they did.
She is still fighting.
One more surgery is scheduled for July. She is praying the next scans prove the doctors wrong. She has not stopped.
"I know I've given this fight everything I have, and I'll keep fighting with all my heart to be here with my children."
She also has a message for everyone who has been praying for her.
"I will gladly accept all the prayers I can get because I know that the Good Lord has the final say."
A woman who stepped in when her family needed someone most is now asking the world to step in for her.
Please share this and pray for Cindy today. Six children are counting on her to keep a promise she made in the darkest moment of her life. She needs every prayer she can get.

It would be a really stupid move if Charles lied about meeting with the Sussexes. It would give Meghan something (else?) to blackmail him with.
If they can all lie about surrogate born children being illegally in the line of succession, then lying about a meeting is nothing in comparison.
The Narrow Gate What’s easier? Lounging on your couch or hiking up a mountain? Scarfing down a candy bar or cooking a healthy meal? Complaining about a problem or working diligently to solve it? Saving your hard-earned money or spending it all in one night? Just because something is easy doesn’t mean it's what's best. Jesus knew this. In fact, He often chose the harder road with purpose over an easy one with no meaning. He said: “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” Matthew 7:13-14 ESV Though Jesus beckons the entire world, His invitation is also exclusive. Because all paths, all religions, and all good intentions do not lead to God. Jesus isn’t implying that we can earn our own salvation by searching the hardest or climbing the highest or praying the longest to find some elusive gate. Instead, Jesus makes it clear in John 10:7, saying, “I am the gate…” The way to the one true God, the Creator of this world and the Sustainer of your life, is through Jesus Christ—who loves you, gave His life for you, and was raised from the dead so that you could live. You can’t earn His love or salvation, but you can accept His gift of grace and enter through the narrow gate. Yes, it’s easier to scroll social media than to think about the deeper meaning of life. It’s easier to stay busy and distracted than to confess and repent of your sins. It’s easier to dismiss God altogether than to trust Him with your soul. But the harder road is worth it. The narrow gate leads to life, and there is no other way than our Savior, Jesus Christ.
I personally don't think that meeting Charles helped them because we wouldn't hear so much about William needing to forgive if it did. Last year, the narrative was that William was jealous and so less. This year, the narrative is that he needs to forgive because family lol. Clearly, having a relationship with Charles is not enough.

look, I'm not saying that Charles is doing everything right and he should be blasted for not working during the summer as well but I'm worried that if William's not doing summer engagements now, he will not do it when he's king just because "he's never done them before" and that will carry over to his kids.
I'm not saying that he can't have holidays and vacations but six consecutive weeks is a bit too long and the charity summer programs are sooo vital for working parents and yet get so little recognition and from what I gather, William and Catherine like to spotlight local initiatives and charity programs
Once again, why as King is William supposed to do things differently when The Queen herself disappeared to Balmoral every year and as does Charles. Are you equally worried that Charles takes an equally long summer break and Camilla even longer?
Sometimes I feel like this debate has more to do with the difference between American and UK cultures just as much as people not realizing how the Monarchy operates. It's unfathomable to Americans that Europeans take month long holidays and it's perfectly normal. We can't even take a week off without checking our work emails every single day (I am guilty of this).
PS: I genuinely do not understand your correlation between Wiliam doing engagements and summer programs. These programs don't stop existing simply because William is on summer hols?
