I’m sick of people giving me advice when I don’t need it.
I’m tired of people trying to interject into my life somehow.
If I don’t ask for your help, and if I don’t seek you in any sort of way, or if I’m talking to you simply because I have to take care of business or run into you somewhere, I’m not interested in your advice or help.
I have my own group of friends that I trust most and reach out to, you don’t need to reach out to me unless I know that you’re the kind of person who can help.

It’s been a while.
Since I had a voice.
I don’t know if I ever truly had a voice, or if I even used it.
The only times I remember speaking up were when I knew for certain my statement would be perceived as correct or factual. Opinions are pertinent for discussions, but open to criticism. People are harsh nowadays, and that is something that will never change. If you phrase something that rubs even one person the wrong way, you’re at risk of making yourself vulnerable to their opinions, and their opinions of you.
It’s funny how some things never change, and how the cycle of life appears to reveal itself to you throughout your life. Flashbacks, memories, both good and bad, will return in some shape later. That’s why it’s important to remember, and never forget, because these are lessons that we learn throughout life. If they appear again from your memory, as a flashback, it probably means there is something unresolved there. You may think you have moved on, but then why does your mind remind you of it again?
Life is busy now, no matter what. It will always feel as though there is never time for quiet reflection or internal thinking. Perhaps that is why these flashbacks occur, because they are from times when you did not allow yourself enough time to fully think through the event, and what is happening.
I have grown a lot in the past year. I’m even starting to feel like an adult. I asked my 79-year old grandmother-in-law the other day, “When did you start feeling like an adult?” and she replied to me, “I never did.”

A guest speaker came to our class the other day and explained her experience living with cerebral palsy. She said that her brother said something to her on his deathbed, and she will remember this, always: “The most valuable thing you can give to someone is time. Your life is worth more than anything, it is priceless.”
I understood that life is priceless, but it took me having to hear this story to finally realize how valuable our lives are and how often we forget that time is of the essence.
As a teenager, I recall muttering the words, “I’m bored” all throughout the day. I wish I could have grasped the concept of time better, so that I may have utilized it to do more activities. But, in a way, the time I spent doing nothing is what I miss most. Nowadays I think many people feel too busy to have any time for themselves, or anything outside of work.
I hope someone else in the world reads this and feels the significance of the words shared by a person meeting their end.
