OTD - 17 May 1986:
Self Aid, an unemployment benefit concert, took place in Dublin, Ireland. The purpose of the concert was to highlight the nation's chronic unemployment problem at the time.
The concert featured the last performance by The Boomtown Rats until the band reformed in 2013.
