Live, soldier. Live.
reasons why i believe in clone!shiro theory: showrunners having stated they wanted shiro gone for longer but had to compromise with dreamworks bc of merchandising, “operation kuron”, “this weird headache”, being captured by the galra and tortured again literally doesn’t develop shiro’s character at all and it just hurts to think about, “why would the black lion send me to the galra”, very intentional visual cues to signify a change in character (it’s a kids show it’s supposed to have SOME simplicity ok), more subtle changes in speech patterns/diction, a couple strange coincidences about shiro making a decision and falling right into a trap…
NOT reasons why i believe in clone theory: “shiro’s not an angry person he’s not allowed to get mad he was too mean to keith and REAL shiro wouldn’t do any of this he’s not allowed to have any emotions except to coddle and protect my faves”
“dude the fucks wrong w your hair”
More Allura!!! 💞
I feel like I cosplay her all the time but I love her so ٩( ᐛ )و
I just saw a post that legitimately proposed the idea that l@nce was the one jumping the walls that k3ith has up - like I’m sorry, but what freaking show are y'all watching??????
no like for real what show are they watching:
I fixed it for OP
Lance spent most of the series REJECTING Keith at every turn, even when Keith tried to reach out to lance and establish a connection. Don’t pretend Lance would be the one hopping over Keith’s walls; SHIRO is the one canonically shown to have climbed over the walls Keith has set up to protect him from getting hurt. And Hunk is shown to be making an effort to get to understand Keith even from season 1. So nah, Shiro makes the most sense, but I can also see Hunk as hopping over Keith’s emotional walls.
Seriously. You don’t have to be sheith shipper to just acknowledge how important Shiro is to Keith.
They claim to care about Shiro yet constantly erase him just so they can replace him with Lance. I mean they LITERALLY do this when they edit Keith and Shiro scenes to have Lance instead lol.
And lets remember this tidbit from the guidebook:
This is the Lance/Keith and Shiro/Keith relationship in a nutshell.
Lance belittles what was probably the hardest thing Keith ever had to do in his life, and Shiro, annoyed and defensive of Keith, shuts him down.
I’m so sick of this fandom giving Lance credit for things he does not deserve. Lance has done NOTHING for Keith, only just recently they’ve become amicable.
Lance is a jerk to Keith and these people that claim so much to ~hate fujos~ and not be one sure do romanticize such a typical yaoi trope.
I’m so tired of the fandom acting like a character that mistreats Keith is the love of his life and his comfort, and pretending Shiro just doesn’t exist at all when he is canonically THE most important person in Keith’s life and THE person who got through Keith’s walls to offer him unconditional love and support.
Canon is where it’s at and people are allowed to Headcanon it….but sadly some take it too far or change the characters personality so much to “fit” where they want then to.
In the end, they not only destroy Lance’s character, but ignore that Shiro was anything to Keith at all.
People also forget how much closer Hunk, Pidge and Allura are to Keith now as well, as they too are getting close to helping Keith with the walls he’s put up.
In response, Keith cosnstantly belittles Lance at every chance he gets, so it a constant circle of hate a distrust between them. They only work together when they have a common goal or it’s a life or death situation.
Season 3, Lance didn’t give a shit about what Keith had to say in the beginning: his focus was on doing what Shiro would do and trying to be the black lion. He was so damaged when Keith said that Shiro wanted Keith to take his place. Keith was a shitty leader and was being shitty to the rest of the team.
I don’t understand where people are pulling love out of their relationship. It’s dysfunctional
>Keith constantly belittles Lance every chance he gets
You mean the other way around right? Because I can’t name one time Keith was deliberately mean to Lance without Lance initiating.
Ditto on what @shiros-sugar said.
@escope-blog Are you even watching the same show we are?
And @shirosrighthandman knows where it’s at and knows the score.
People can headcanon, that is fine….
But if I can tell canon from fanon, so can you.
Fanon doesn’t belong in canon. Stop trying to shove the square peg into the round hole. It’s just like that shipping wikia….. Klance is not “probably canon” that is some jackass editing it where it doesn’t need editing.
If you think that an argumentative, verbally abusive relationship is a good thing…. You need help. Serious deep psychological help.
@shiros-sugar @officialwhitehairedhybridkeef I mean, maybe I’m using a different definition????
Cause like all he time Keith is picking fights with Lance and calling him names and then Lance doesn’t let it go so it spirals into something I wouldn’t call a functioning relationship.
And then that scene in season three where Lance was asking about the Lions when Shiro came back, are we not going to act like Keith didn’t tell Lance that he shouldn’t do anything but be a good little soldier and follow orders? Like, Keith said lance shouldn’t even do math.
Yes it wasn’t meant to be that way, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Are you trolling
No?????
OK now that I know you’re serious give me at least 3 times Keith was the aggressive one without provocation.
Also about the s3 conversation, why did you take it as Keith being passive aggressive? I don’t know how you reached to the conclusion Keith was implying Lance shouldn’t do math either, but OK. Literally Keith was trying to cheer him up by essentially saying, “Lance don’t think you’re any lesser to the team because we’ve all switched lions, so trust me as your leader, You are valued.” But in a Keith filtered way.
Stop demonizing my boy lol
Wow. Reading this just makes me realize how misunderstood Keith is in this fandom.
I would just like to thank y'all for your wonderful commentary. I am consistently disappointed with just how misrepresented these characters are by the fandom, and by how utterly out of touch the fandom is with their canon characterizations.
This fucking post???? I genuinely don’t get how people try to argue Keith initiates the shit between him and Lance bc it’s literally always Lance? Like you don’t need to be a Keith stan or not like Lance to acknowledge the fact that Lance is the one who straight up initiates this shit??? Keith legit just responds to Lance?? Like someone please fucking show me exactly where in canon Keith actually provokes Lance. Literally the times in canon Keith gets pissed at Lance are either times when Lance has provoked him, times Lance has started something, or when Lance has said something that hits a soft spot with Keith like when Shiro is missing. I don’t get how people genuinely try to argue that shit bc there is literally nothing in canon where that is actually the case.
Do you know why everyone keeps predicting that Lance is gonna die?
Two answers:
First one: IIRC, Shada once made a joke of “Well, Lance dies at one point, so, that’s gonna be fun,” which I pretty much always took as some kind of space antics going down and Lance is not, in fact, going to pull a GoLion Shirogane. Because listen, there is no way in hell they’d drop a dramatic spoiler like that.
Second one: because, and I’m gonna be salty here, people love to watch Lance suffer. I can’t tell you how many people have described Lance on a downward spiral, getting more insecure and more hurt and not smiling or laughing any more when in actuality we’re seeing him growing, gaining confidence, hurdling things that would have emotionally absolutely sunk him before.
Lance is moving beyond the rivalry, and he was never the type to stew over his own issues- as early as s1e4 his response to feeling homesick was to talk to Coran about it and since then, he’s been more articulate and conversational about his feelings, and, those talks have ended well, even if they don’t resolve everything, because, they don’t have to.
The feeling I get is that segments of the fandom, more than they’re having trouble seeing Lance as a person growing in confidence and making positive strides, don’t want to. They don’t want to see him climbing higher and feeling better because for them, Lance’s essential role is to be the wounded, broken victim to be healed by Keith/Shiro/Lotor/somebody’s loving embrace.
Part of it is a perceptive bias in that Lance is very much a support role. He’s very naturally inclined to propping up others. I think that it really bothers me when Lance’s conversation with Keith is taken as just an exercise in insecurity, when it is actually, I think, a powerful statement of Lance’s values: “I don’t want to hold myself up as important at the expense of either you, Shiro, or Allura. I want you to be happy and I’m not afraid to take a back seat if that’s what it takes, because this isn’t a participation game and I’m not entitled to be Special Chosen Boy.”
And Lance is emotional! He’s someone with a lot of feelings, and very heartfelt. But that’s also Lance’s element. Water is something overwhelmingly thematically conflated with the realm of emotions, and for Lance, it’s something that ties him to Earth, and his home- Earth compared to most of the other planets in VLD has vast oceans, and the home Lance misses was right on the beach, on an island.
It creates this visual of Lance, with all of his positive, warm memories of home, as someone who was cradled and beloved by the ocean.
Saying Lance is going to fall prey to emotional turmoil and come apart at the seams is like saying a fish is going to drown. Lance is one of the most stable members of the team, that’s why he’s a leg. Even moving to Red, the main thing he’s done is work to help Keith navigate his own wild, turbulent emotions.
Because if you want to look at people who are prone to leaving their feelings to fester, that’s Keith and Shiro. Keith is the one who’s carrying deep-seated, old emotional wounds and a lot more raw nerves than he realizes, and Shiro’s the one who doesn’t take his own sound psychological advice.
Lance? Lance takes his own advice. When Lance has a bad feeling he finds someone and talks about it. S2e11 showed us that Lance’s audience doesn’t even have to be really good, they can be literally a dog, and Lance will have meaningful conversations with them as a surrogate.
Saying “oh, no, will Lance be able to deal with this emotional conflict?” is like saying “oh, no, will Hunk be able to lift this heavy thing?” Like. Yeah, there is a possibility they could be overwhelmed, but, they’re probably better suited to deal with it than almost anybody else on the team.
au where shiro never went to kerberos, keith is on his way to graduate and theyre happy together ♡
Pride and Prejudice (dir. Joe Wright, 2005) is a good and enjoyable movie. If it was any Regency Era romance, I think I would even like it. But as an interpretation of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen? Unpopular opinion, but it’s a fucking joke and I hate it with all my heart. Nothing will work me up faster than that movie.
Fish Out of Water
Summary: Keith is going to get Shiro back, and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop him.
Notes: Sequel to Mermaid Rescue and Rehab Inc. I bumped the rating just a little on this one because Shiro is little and Honvera wasn’t gentle with him. Nothing is described, but the implication is there.
If you’d like to read this on AO3, here’s the link.
“Keith!”
Keith flicked his tail, bringing himself to a stop before he could crash into Allura and flinching when the sudden movement jarred his shoulder.
“You’re not meant to be up,” Allura glared at him, her fins flaring slighting with her frustration, and the biolumincent swirls on them beginning to glow.

Sour patch Paladins
They’re his quiznak-ing eyelids.
(Nothing against Shiro or any guy being able to wear makeup. Do I love the idea of Shiro wearing eyeliner? Heck yeah, he’d look bomb. Do I think that’s the reason his eyes look the way they do in canon? No. The man’s got bigger things to worry about than putting on makeup before he fights the Galra. Plus, you know, people with monolids do actually exist, shockingly)
shiro facts:
likes hearty home-cooked meals
relies on maps to complete missions
likes cats enough to nap with one for 10,000 years
brings leadership to the table
wants invisibility as a superpower
would buy enough things to fit in a backpack and some nice socks at the space mall
works to relax
“hey shiro, if you could live and die on any kind of planet where would you find the most peace? :)” “nowhere because i will never know peace so long as the universe is in danger”
when it comes to tests, he just chills out because he knows he’s already as prepared as he will be
values teamwork above all
Yeah, so Shiro’s body language speaks VOLUMES at the end of Collection & Extraction. I simply adore it and it’s what cemented Shallura for me. I need to gif it (since I’ve been meaning to), because it just really important, OKAY.
K: “Where’s Allura?”
Look at his defeated walk. He trudges over, still shell shocked over what just happened. He immediately clutches onto the closest object to steady himself.
L: “Shiro?”
He feels so guilty, he can’t even look at his teammates, even though they’re waiting for an answer. He’s still letting it all sink in. He’s mulling over how to break the news—how it’s his fault. (or at least he considers it his fault)
“She sacrificed herself to save me.”
Very clearly upset and still can’t look at any of them. He is so distraught by the fact that Allura put herself in danger to save his life and he couldn’t do anything about it. She loves you.
P: “So, she’s still on that ship?”
H: “The ship that’s headed to Zarkon’s central command?”
K: “The place that’s way too dangerous for us to attack?”
*hand clench*
“It doesn’t matter how dangerous it is. We can’t let Zarkon get Allura.”
He finally looks at them. He’s made up his mind about how he’s going to fix this.
H: “But you said going there would be a huge mistake. You said for us to attack that place head-on would be the dumbest possible thing we could ever do.”
“I know. But now we don’t have a choice.”
He’s ready to save his space princess, goddamn it.
/ugly crying
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Why ARE they even lions though?
