The Dangers of the Sun to the Lips!
Due mostly to environmental derogation; unprotected sun exposure puts our skin at risk. Approximately 90% of skin cancer cases are sun exposure related. While we take measures to protect our bodies and face, one are often missed are the lips.
The time of the year doesn’t matter! The danger presented by the sun isn’t seasonal. The sun’s rays are divided into two types; UVA and UVB. The UVB rays decline in cooler months, but that’s not the case for the UVA rays.
The skin of the lips burns faster than the surrounding areas. This is because the skin of the lip very thin. The lips also have very little melanin. This combination of factors allows them to burn much faster than other areas of the face. People with cold sores have to be especially careful about sun exposure. Cold sore breakouts are easily triggered by too much sun. This situation can be prevented by using an effective lip protection balm.

Quercetin
The anti-inflammatory effects of quercetin seem to come from its ability to dampen the production and activity of pro-inflammatory biochemicals such as leukotrienes and prostaglandins, and to block the release of histamine, the biochemical that causes allergic symptoms like runny nose and itchy eyes. Quercetin also seems to help symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and chronic, nonbacterial prostatitis.
Why Use Antioxidants?
Immune cells cause oxidative damage as they fight infection, and ongoing oxidative damage drives chronic inflammation. Reducing oxidative damage can help control inflammation. Antioxidants like vitamin C, vitamin E and selenium all help to control oxidative damage by neutralizing “free radicals,” the molecular renegades that cause oxidative damage and can start a chain reaction that keeps it going.
All training programs work.. to an extent.
Let’s not forget that there is this little thing called the principle of specificity in regards to your training.
Specificity is the principle of training that states that sports training should be relevant and appropriate to the sport for which the...
Fast Food = Sick Food
According to a Canadian researcher, a single serving of a high saturated fat fast food meal can seriously strain your cardiovascular system. The main damage is to vascular endothelium, the inner lining of blood vessels.
Should I Use A Belt?
One of the big debates that takes place in almost every gym is whether to wear the weight training belt or not. There are some scientific factors which should weigh in on the decision. The percentage of weight related to maximum is one factor. A trainer should avoid the weight belt under 80% of 1RM. The use of a weight belt with loads below 80% causes a deconditioning of the muscles used to execute the movement. Wearing a weight training belt for too long impedes blood flow to the heart and raises your blood pressure. Reserve the use of a weight training belt for those movements that require the spinal erectors to work against high resistance such as barbell Good Mornings, heavy Barbell Squats and deadlifts.
