I’m done pretending that strength is shown by dominating. When Jesus died he was not alone, everyone did not run away, because in the midst of his humiliation and suffering the women remained faithful, in his death the women remained resilient. They were not thwarted by suffering or the feeling that a God was abandoning them because it wasn’t a new feeling for them. They were able to minister to Christ because they knew suffering and they were strong.

And after his death still they kept going, honoring Jesus mourning him maybe even waiting for him. They were the first witnesses of the resurrection because when their hope was crushed they picked up the pieces and kept going, together. "To be rendered powerless does not destroy your humanity. Your resilience is your humanity. The only people who lose their humanity are those who believe they have the right to render another human being powerless. They are the weak.
