((so after mulling this over for a while, i’ve decided i’m going to archive this blog. it’s not getting used for the group anymore, but i still love everything about it and the people i continue to rp with.

i’m also moving to an indie blog, which will have the same url. that way i can still enjoy the aspects of what’s left of tumblr rp. it’s been a good run here but you can still catch me on my other blog!!))

Iida wasn’t sure if murdering a man for revenge was classified as ‘good intentions’ (actually he was rather sure it wasn’t), but he appreciated Todoroki’s words anyway. It was strange, he had never really spoken all that often with Todoroki before this incident. Admittedly, he wasn’t someone Iida had thought would suddenly appear to lend a hand. After saving each other from certain death, coming to each other’s rescue just in time, Iida would already classify Todoroki as someone of great importance to him.

Chuckling quietly, Iida nodded slightly. With more information to Todoroki’s home life, it was easier to at least understand where the resentment started from. It only made Iida prouder of him for using his fire. 

“Well, I’m not really in the position to be lecturing you about being petty. Please, go ahead and enjoy this victory.” Iida too would have to watch the interviews with the knowledge he had. Then again, Endeavor constantly looked upset, so would it really be that different? He supposed someone closer to the hero would be able to pick out the small details. “For what it’s worth, I’ll at least know the truth.”

In the end, it had been more than lucky that Todoroki had appeared on the scene; since he used his left side during the fight, it enabled them not to get in trouble with the police or with the school because of unlicensed heroics. As much as he didn’t appreciate the fact that they could have gotten in trouble for rescuing someone and taking down a dangerous criminal, at least the consequences weren’t as severe as they could have been. Sure, they were injured, but that was to be expected from what happened. He was glad he showed up.

“Yeah,” Todoroki nodded. “And for what it’s worth, I think you got your revenge. You put the guy who hurt your brother behind bars for good.” Just because he didn’t set out to do that initially didn’t mean that Iida didn’t succeed, at least in Todoroki’s mind.

When he was younger, Todoroki wanted to see his father pay for what he’d done to his mother. He’d dreaded becoming a hero like Endeavor if it meant he would be a bully to the ones who mattered, and he’d loathed the decision to send his mother to the hospital, even after she’d hurt him so badly. If he’d had his way back then, his father would have been served some just desserts. It took so long for him to dull that pain into surpassing him without using the power he’d inherited from him, and now even that had dulled.

“What would you have done if you got what you wanted from that fight?” Todoroki asked, mostly out of curiosity.

“We will,” Bakugou assured, a moment of solemn understanding quickly ruined by his next words, “because I sure as hell am not flying with you again.” This was the smoothest part of the flight, and still the prince was clinging to him. It was unsightly for royalty, and Bakugou couldn’t help but be smug about it. The precious prince clinging to a filthy rogue. Now wouldn’t that get King Todoroki’s panties in a twist?

“Smiling,” Bakugou called back, eyes turned back to the lands in search of the prince’s steed. “Smiling steels the stomach and reduces the urge to vomit. Not that I’m sure you’re capable.” Bakugou was nearly always grinning like a lunatic when he rode, though it had long lost anything to do with nausea. The rush and thrill of the flight was all it took.

For a moment, it seemed like Bakugou was trying to reassure him. However, Shouto had to roll his eyes at the following words. He wasn’t keen on flying again, either, if he had to admit it. Never had he expected to feel so ill at ease up in the air, and yet there he was. He could only imagine that Bakugou got used to it with experience. If the dragon was this loyal to him, he doubted that it would let its master fall...

Shouto looked up at Bakugou as he offered his advice. This time it really did seem like he meant well, even if there was an ulterior motive of not getting thrown up on. He attempted a grin, although it was more like a grimace at this point. “If you say so,” he replied. Maybe it was the power of suggestion, or perhaps he was getting used to being so high up, but he was feeling a little better. He turned his head to the other side from where Bakugou was facing and tried to get a better look at the ground.

He saw a white figure below, this time looking like it wore a saddle. “Look, there!” He released one of his arms to point at what could be his horse. It looked like it was just grazing, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t danger lurking nearby. Now they just had to land without spooking it.

“Yeah, I really don’t give a shit, Ice burn,” Bakugou brushed off. What the hell made Todoroki think for a second that Bakugou gave a damn in the first place? Whatever. They’d both see the guy again soon enough. If Todoroki really wanted to pass, his problem was getting the hell over whatever spat they were having.

“I do, actually. Get fucking punched by All Might so hard in the stomach that you puke your fucking guts up, then get kneed in the chin so you fly into a Goddamn building. Then, if that doesn’t seal the deal, get hit so hard by another guy that you crack a fucking road.” Cooperation with people he damn well didn’t like was a lesson he already suffered through, and hell yes he was going to be bitter about it. Pausing at Todoroki’s trailed comment, Bakugou watched him from the corner of his eye for a moment before scoffing, glancing away again. He couldn’t exactly tell Todoroki that he heard his whole sob story, and he’d appreciate it if the guy stopped acting so cryptic about it.

“Holy fucking shit, grandpa, you want me to take you out for a game of bingo while I’m at it? Or is mahjong more your speed? Fucking hell. Forget it. I’ll crush you at smash instead. Hope you’ve at least held a controller once in your sad life.”

Todoroki was already frustrated. If the whole venture was this pointless, he may as well have turned around and left... He was starting to regret his decision, because in spite of Bakugou being his greatest resource for this issue, was it really worth the trouble trying to get it out of him? There had to be a better way. He pursed his lips to keep from saying something that would ruin the rest of the conversation. As long as his advice was good...

... which it was utterly unhelpful. Certainly, he was being sarcastic, because that was oddly specific and Todoroki didn’t quite understand how it connected to the situation at hand. Bakugou must have gone through that process, though, otherwise he wouldn’t bring it up. “Was that what happened during your final exam? When you were paired with Midoriya to fight All Might.” He’d learned a lot during his own exam battle with Aizawa-sensei, not that it helped much during the license exam. He actually considered it, if it would help. “Wait, you expect me to get wailed on by the other guy so we can settle our differences?” That... did not sound appealing at all. Todoroki scowled. There must have been an alternative that didn’t involve him suffering any more humiliation at the hands of that other student.

Again, he was taken aback by Bakugou’s suggestion. “I have,” he informed him with a light smirk. “Haven’t picked one up in a while, thanks to all the trouble U.A.’s been through, but I’m sure you know how that goes.”

“You should still allow time for the food to settle, Todoroki-kun. It’s unhealthy and can cause more harm than good.” And of course Iida was concerned for his health. It would be awful to push the other too far.

“I have a few routes, actually! Depending on the purpose of them. Endurance. Up hill. Casual. Short. Long. Scenic. It all depends on why you’re running.” Scenic was nice for when he needed to relax. When he was stressed and take his time. The others were rather straightforward though.

“Of course, we can always be spontaneous. However, I know all the streets, so I’m not sure if that counts.”

Todoroki supposed it couldn’t be helped. Iida was the epitome of class president, almost like a guardian in his own right of all their classmates. Although he didn’t necessarily believe in the dangers presented, not to the extent Iida was saying, it would be fairly pointless to argue. After all, the other was only looking out for him. “If you insist,” Todoroki shrugged. “Maybe by the time we’re done eating, there’ll be something worth watching on TV.”

Unsurprisingly, Iida had come up with numerous running routes to use once they were up to it. “I’d say that counts,” Todoroki said, “as long as it isn’t one you planned ahead of time.” He didn’t think that it fit Iida not to plan ahead, but at least he knew they wouldn’t get lost. “If we do end up racing, I think we should know exactly where we’re going, though. That way it’s fair.”

Even Todoroki couldn’t resist a good friendly competition. There was nothing to lose or gain from it other than a distraction. Really, though, that was just what he needed.

Lost | Midoriya

When Todoroki crouched down beside him and offered to help, Midoriya’s lip curled into a small, sad smile. It was so  t y p i c a l.  A real hero with every intention to help him now. Where was that hero  then?  Where were  any  of them? Thoughts of abandonment plagued his mind, but he suppressed them Todoroki was here now, and that was enough to ease his conscience. He shrugged and passively agreed to let him help.

Unpacking felt futile, but he went through the motions. Pull out a shirt. Fold it. Set it aside.

“I’m sorry if I’m being any trouble.”

@dekuscruhb​ || Todoroki really wished... Well, he didn’t deserve it, but he wished Midoriya would talk to him, tell him what was on his mind. It was a natural desire, right? As a person who really liked him, wanting to know more about him was normal. Worrying this much was normal. So when Midoriya said nothing, Todoroki started talking. 

“About Stain...” he began. “I don’t know if you knew this. My old man took the credit for that fight. We would have been in big trouble for fighting without any license, so...” Trailing off somewhat awkwardly, he wondered if that was the best way to welcome him back. Reminding him right away of the attack... Probably not the wisest move. “I won’t make excuses, but you have no idea how relieved I was when they finally found you. I don’t know--” He cut himself off from that thought. He didn’t know what he would have done otherwise, true enough, but... would he have taken up the search himself? Or would he have waited until he’d been issued his provisional license? He couldn’t say. Nothing sounded like the right thing.

When Midoriya spoke up again, Todoroki looked up from what he was doing only to see him staring at the floor. “Hey, look at me,” he said. “You’re not trouble. You’re precious to me.” He reached out to touch his hand; if he didn’t take it, Todoroki understood. “I’m not tired, so I’ll be here as long as you need.”
