The BHT International Spectacular Is Open For Submissions!

Welcome! Bienvenidos! Wilkommen! Huānyíng! Wamkelekile! Whatever other language you can say "welcome" in! It's time for the BHT International Spectacular, a celebration of all the countries around the world who are long overdue for some recognition on this blog. We get droves of American and English representation here at billboard-hotties-tourney, but now it's time for the rest of the world to have their shining hour, and we'll see which nation's favorite vintage artist will reign supreme.

Here's how it's gonna go down, and bear with me because I know it'll be a long process: You, the submitter, will send in a country name and an artist from that country. If you like, you can include some links to songs of theirs for inclusion in the tournament, and you can mention if they're from your country as well! (Leave it blank if you want to keep it to yourself, that's fine!) If more than one artist is submitted for a country, every submission from that country will be put into a poll at a later date and the people of Tumblr will vote on which artist should represent the nation in question.

After the submissions have closed, we'll put the competitors in a standard bracket (even numbers permitting) like you've seen before...until we get to the top 16. That's when we start ranking countries number by number. Each week, you, the voters, will select the country (and their artist) that should be eliminated from the remaining list--ie, the one whose music you like the least. This will happen until we decide Tumblr's favorite nation for vintage music!

Here's the link to submit your artists. If you have any more questions, I can answer them for you and put them in the pinned post on the blog here. There will probably be quite a few edits as people ask questions, so stay tuned and please exercise patience. I'm very excited to see what artists and countries get highlighted! Happy travelling.
