All of these mosquitos are trapped in this spider’s web! (Source)

A successful spider. Hes made it
We have spiders like this one all over! A big reason I tried hard to stop fearing and killing spiders was because of spiders like this. We had a huge mosquito problem around our house one year, and one day I went outside and saw almost no mosquitoes- but I did see several barn spiders sitting in their webs. Their webs were black, thick with dead mosquitoes. They single handedly (eight handedly?) decimated the mosquito scourge, and there were maybe only ten total spiders doing it. I’ve appreciated them for it ever since. Spiders are good.
