The power goes to their head straight away.. This is why I always perform a morality test on them before accepting an apprentice.

These days masters of the arts are too concerned with the safety of their apprenticeship applicants to have them take the test.... Yes, a few unworthy and impure of heart may perish or leave handicapped, but is it better to have your students corrupted by a cursed artifact the moment they leave your atelier??? Do you Really want more burden on yourself to aid a group of immature and unlearned adventurers in defeating someone's Mad apprentice or worse Your Own?!
